Tim Green and I first connected over Instagram and later cohosted an event at London-based Subdial, the growing pre-owned watch dealership. You may be familiar with his watch drop videos on YouTube, an exploratory look at some of their weekly inbound inventory. Tim has had a storied history in England as both a watch collector and automotive aficionado - he jokes many car dealers know him by name. We discuss the revolving door of owning both categories, and his constant pursuit of perfection. Tim recently purchased not one, but two Porsches, and we also discuss wha might be his perfect three-watch collection. All of this and more with Mr. Tim Green.Links:STANDARD Hhttps://standard-h.com/@standardh_SubDialhttps://subdial.com/@subdialwatches@_timgreen_

Would you wager your safety for a year of luck? The Man in the Fields ritual dares players to do exactly that by opening their doors to something sinister. In this episode, we walk you through the harrowing step-by-step ritual that has taken root across creepy pasta forums, ritual wikis, and Reddit confessionals. What begins as a terrifying game of "shut every door before midnight" becomes a night stalked by an ashen-skinned referee, a towering scarecrow figure, and a whisper that chills to the bone: “That's not your biggest problem.”Subscribe to our PATREONEMAIL us your storiesJoin us on INSTAGRAMJoin us on TWITTERJoin us on FACEBOOKVisit our WEBSITEResearch:https://theghostinmymachine.comhttps://creepypasta.fandom.com/wiki/The_Man_in_the_Fieldshttps://paranormal-rituals.fandom.com/wiki/The_Man_in_the_Fieldshttps://villains.fandom.com/wiki/The_Man_in_the_Fieldshttps://www.reddit.com/r/ThreeKings/https://www.reddit.com/r/Paranormal/https://www.reddit.com/r/nosleep/Sarah xx"Spacial Winds," Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licenced under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licencehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/SURVEY Hosted on Acast. Long before glowing dials and digital screens, there was a secret hidden in the pockets of the elite—a watch that told time not by sight, but by sound. The minute repeater was more than a marvel… it was a whisper of genius in a world of darkness. But how did this invention survive centuries, and why are collectors paying six figures for its song today?
Praktisch, sentimenteel, opvallend of juist veilig? De antwoorden zeggen meer dan je denkt.Een traditie zoals 'ie bedoeld is: ongefilterd, kritisch, met liefde voor het vak — en net genoeg humor om het jaar goed af te sluiten.

On this week's episode of The Business of Watches, we sit down with Ilaria Resta, the Chief Executive Officer of Audemars Piguet. Among the strategically important years in the brand's 150-year history, 2025 may rank among the most significant. Not only did it mark a century-and-a-half anniversary, it demanded a strong and determined leader to navigate through a mille feuille of challenges. Amid U.S. tariffs, record prices for gold, an extremely strong Swiss franc, and an overall downturn in market demand, Resta and her team from Le Brassus grew sales by double-digits, up 12%, as of the end of October compared to the year before, according to the brand. That's more than CHF 2.3 billion in sales, according to analyst estimates. That's no small achievement considering the extraordinary headwinds facing the industry. Overall, Swiss watch exports are set to decline for the second year in a row in 2025. Under Resta's leadership, AP is bucking the trend and then some. In this episode, we talk about the notable product releases from AP this year, including its innovative perpetual calendar and the highly wearable, groundbreaking RD#5; how she intends to manage production; the evolution of the brand; and possible changes to model lines. A long-time senior executive in the consumer goods industry, Resta discusses what makes the watch industry unique and what it needs to do to appeal to the next generation of clients.Show Notes3:50 Audemars Piguet at Dubai Watch Week5:27 AP Perpetual Calendars in 38mm 7:50 Book round-up featuring Audemars Piguet The Watch 9:10 Swiss Watch Exports11:52 Royal Oak Offshore 15:30 Audemars Piguet says CEO Staying (BoF) 17:33 AP Certified Pre-Owned 19:30 Dubai Watch Week CEO Roundtable 22:25 A Plea For Proportionality (Hodinkee)
Merry Christmas and welcome to another episode of Fratello On Air! We're back with an episode on Christmas Eve, and we're talking about our favorite Seiko watches of all time. That's a tough mission, but like Santa's job of delivering toys to all the children, we're up to the task! Grab some mulled wine, settle in by the fireplace, and enjoy the banter.Folks, we've been on the road for the last few weeks. America, Japan, and Germany are just some of the places we've been. However, we're back just in time for Christmas, and we're excited to talk about one of our favorite brands. Seiko has an impressive history and has made significant contributions to watchmaking. In this episode, we discuss our six favorite Seiko references. It wasn't easy, but we've somehow whittled it down to a handful and a thumb!HandgelenkskontrolleTo kick things off, we return to sneakers. We've been a little disappointed in the Nike and New Balance releases leading up to the holiday season. Balazs brings up a set of Chicago Bulls championship rings that sold at Sotheby's on December 12th for over $400,000. Mike then discusses the Imperial Fabergé Winter Egg that recently sold for $30.2 million at Christie's. It was on preview at Christie's in London before going under the hammer earlier this month. For the Handgelenkskontrolle, Balazs is wearing his lovely Rolex GMT-Master reference 1675. Mike is still addicted to his Ming 37.11 Odyssey on the Polymesh bracelet. Our favorite Seiko watchesIf you haven't figured it out, Seiko is one of our favorite brands. When reviewing its back catalog, the number of significant references is mind-boggling. There are an incredible number of amazing watches in so many genres. Somehow, we've boiled our list down to six favorites. Some are surprises, and some are not. Still, all are fun and worth mentioning. Our picks are:The 6139-7070, a fantastic reference showcasing Japan's first automatic chronographThe Grand Seiko 44GS, 4420-9000, is one of the most significant designs from the brandA King Seiko 5626-7000, a Hi-Beat legend still available at an amazing priceSeiko's Champion Alpinist J13043, an incredibly distinct model with a stunning dialGrand Seiko's modern collection, one of the most gratifying and well-designed lineups on the market todayThe Seiko 6215-7000, a watch that broke boundaries for the brand and set a design standard that persists to this dayWe hope you enjoy today's episode, and while we expect some controversy from our discussion, we'd love it if you would contribute to the comments section with your favorite Seiko references. Most of all, we wish you a safe and joyous holiday period and thank you for your endless support. We look forward to our next episode!

On this episode of Superlative, host and founder of aBlogtoWatch, Ariel Adams, sits down with Benoît Mintiens, the founder of Ressence, for an in-depth conversation on what it truly means to rethink modern watchmaking. Marking 15 years of Ressence, Benoît reflects on the emotional and strategic weight of watch trade shows like Watches and Wonders, the enduring importance of in-person experiences in a digital world, and how human connection continues to drive enthusiasm for mechanical timepieces. The discussion moves into the realities of running an independent watch brand, from the unexpected “show business” demands placed on founders to the challenges of building a company without becoming its sole personality. Benoît explains Ressence's core philosophy of applying industrial design thinking to fine watchmaking, detailing how starting from the user experience rather than the movement has led to radical ideas such as oil-filled dials, crown-less cases, and the groundbreaking e-Crown system. Ariel and Benoît explore why most consumers buy watches for the brand rather than the products themselves, how independent brands operate at the edge of the industry's ecosystem, and why disruption often comes from designers and engineers willing to challenge century-old norms. Listen in on their conversation as the two look at the fragile industrial supply chain behind high-end watchmaking, the cost and complexity of true innovation, and why Ressence's future-focused approach continues to resonate with a global community of curious, forward-thinking collectors.Stay updated with Benoît and Ressence Watches:- https://ressencewatches.com/ - https://www.instagram.com/ressence_watches/ SUPERLATIVE IS NOW ON YOUTUBE! Whether you're gathering with family during the holidays, or catching up on the best of the year before award season, Up To Date invited Kansas City film critics to share some great movies and television series worth catching.
Tina Brown tells Katie Couric about a revealing lunch with Jane Goodall, including Harry's early vision for fatherhood and why royal officials expected him to leave the institution — but not for a celebrity life in Montecito. We also cover Prince Harry's surprise appearance at snow polo in Aspen, Meghan's reaction from home, and the possibility of the Invictus Games returning to California in two thousand twenty nine.Plus, claims that Meghan and Harry viewed Kris Jenner's birthday party as a key Hollywood networking opportunity, allegations Meghan sought more prestigious royal accommodation in the UK, and commentary questioning how differently things might have unfolded with her wider family. After the break, we look at Meghan's evolving watch collection — from a Timex to Princess Diana's Cartier — and compare it with Prince William's far more modest Omega Seamaster, a deeply personal gift from his mother.Hear our new show "Crown and Controversy: Prince Andrew" here.Check out "Palace Intrigue Presents: King WIlliam" here.

It has been awhile. Do I remember how to podcast? I couldn't let the year go by without sharing my favorite watches of 2025. It's a tradition. It also reminded me why I enjoy doing this podcast. It's connection. But we are here to share our favorite watches of the year and you'll remember it doesn't have to be just stuff that came out this year but it has to be things we've watched for the first time.
In this episode of Openwork, we talk with our sales director, Geoff Souder, about what fundamentally changes when you move from selling traditional luxury watches to selling independent brands. Drawing on decades of experience with mainstream names like Rolex and Patek Philippe, Geoff explains how scale and standardization create a polished but often homogenous retail experience, then contrasts that with the realities of independence—where there is no built-in foot traffic and every relationship must be earned. The conversation centers on how independent watches shift the meaning of ownership inward, away from status and recognition and toward personal connection, artistic intent, and patronage, ultimately reshaping not just how watches are sold, but how they're understood and valued. Hosted by Asher Rapkin and Gabe Reilly, co-founders of Collective Horology, Openwork goes inside the watch industry. You can find us online at collectivehorology.com. On this week's episode of The Business of Watches, a frank discussion with one of the most powerful women in the world of horology. Hind Seddiqi is the Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Watch Week, an event that's grown and matured to become one of the few truly top-tier events on the watch sector calendar. As CEO of the biennial gathering, Seddiqi oversees the team that decides which brands get to exhibit their wares, which executives and collectors get to speak on the industry panels, and exactly how the massive show is staged, presented, and organized. This year's Dubai Watch Week was the most successful edition yet and marked a new era of international profile for an idea launched a decade ago by the United Arab Emirates retailer Ahmed Seddiqi as a way to showcase watchmaking and inform locals about the industry. Housed in a new, larger, and purpose-built venue near the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Watch Week 2025 welcomed a record 49,000 visitors this year, a 113% increase from the previous edition. The event, marking the 75th anniversary of the Seddiqi family retail empire, saw a wave of collector groups fly in from around the world to attend a show that offers up close and personal access to many of the biggest names in watchmaking, from Max Büsser to Roger Smith, to Rexhep Rexhepi, and the CEO of A. Lange & Söhne, Wilhelm Schmid. Hind Seddiqi says one of her biggest challenges now is preserving the casual, spontaneous, and intimate feel of Dubai Watch Week as demand for a place at the table continues to rise. She talks about Dubai, its torrid growth (and punishing traffic) and the city's increasingly important role in the international economy and how she plans to manage the demands and expectations of a massively popular event.
