Neoborn Caveman talks about the complexities of freedom, government control, and the human condition. As usual, NC spans various themes including the paradox of freedom, the illusion of government authority, the impact of war, the role of democracy, and the need for honesty in politics. Neoborn also addresses public health policies, particularly vaccination, and critiques the medical industry, emphasizing the importance of healing over mere medical professionalism. He reflects on technology's role in society and the future of humanity, health, nutrition, climate change, and societal issues. Health segment is about the dangers of diet drinks and the impact of carbohydrates on health. Neoborn Caveman also critiques the globalist agenda of organizations like the WHO and reflects on the historical context of climate change. NC calls for individuals to take action in their lives and communities to maintain a positive change. What matters is how other people are remembering it and feeling filled up by it.” — Amy Helm on carrying forward Levon Helm's vision“The Midnight Rambles were about recovery — physically, spiritually, financially. My dad started with 20 people just to pay the electric bill, and from there he got his voice back, his career back, and won three Grammys.” — Amy Helm on the rebirth of Levon Helm“Phil showed me that these songs were meant to be rediscovered in every fraction of every moment. Purple Rabbits, slurp that green tea and hunker down for The Neoborn Caveman Show—your marble-mouthed host Neoborn Caveman (me, myself, the gang) unleashing pro-humanity rants on life's raw underbelly. We kick off skewering "irresistible" hobbies—archery? Blacksmithing? Spare me; real pull comes from purpose, like indoor tomatoes barricading your pad against urban poison, not time-wasting fluff. Then, a gut-punch from Des Moines: illegal superintendent Ian Andre Roberts, $300K salary to shove agendas down kids' throats, handpicked by Dem strings, busted fleeing ICE with a loaded handgun and deportation order—laws exist to shield taxpayers, not spotlight squatters. Fist-bump the Florida task force's record haul: 1 million pounds of cartel coke, $11B gutted, 378 million lethal doses dodged—why pity narco scum when they peddle death? Health gut-check: 8-year Neurology probe fingers low/no-cal sweeteners (aspartame, sucralose) as cognition killers, accelerating brain fog—sugar's no satan; brew ginger-honey truth over lab lies. Europe's EES drops October 12: fingerprints and snaps for U.S. travelers, "security" facade for data grabs—control's the import, not the espresso. Satire, truths, tunes: slurp, burp, revolt.Key TakeawaysPurpose, Not Pastimes: No room for hobbies—reads, gardens, plants pack purpose, forging shields and souls over aimless arrows.School Scandal Unmasked: Unvetted agendas erode education—taxpayer trust demands vetted voices, not armed interlopers.Sweetener Slow Poison: Artificial zeros hasten memory melts per science—embrace nature's cane, shun corporate cocktails.Biometric Border Trap: EU scans sell safety, deliver surveillance—fingerprint freedom's fade before it sticks.Uncertainty's Edge: Life's flows—winds, rains—vitalize; accept your raw self, skip rivalry, grow unscripted.Soundbites"I don't have time for hobbies. Anything I do, it's serious because I don't have time in my life to waste four meaningless things.""Promiscuity is a bad thing. It's unhealthy, literally unhealthy... This week, hosts Nick Millevoi and the shamelessly biased Jason Shadrick dive deep—much, much deeper than Nick ever imagined he would go—into the vast discography of the great Jimmy Herring. They enlist Rob Compa, formerly of Dopapod and now of Neighbor, whose greatest qualification is living in Burlington, Vermont, "the hub of all things jam bands".Maybe you've heard Jimmy Herring is amazing, but the sheer "jam-ness" of his output is intimidating. We systematically go through Herring's entire discography and in the process ruin Nick's Apple Music algorithm. But common ground was found in Frogwings' Croakin' at Toads, which found a new fan in Nick even though he's slightly John Popper-phobic. Rob chimes in on his favorite nuggets from the catalog and discusses what exactly makes Herring gain such a fanbase among guitar nerds. Is it Jazz Is Dead, Phil Lesh, the ferocious McLaughlin collaboration? Plus, we decide that Herring's “Scapegoat Blues” might be an all-time jam-band standard and required repertoire for any aspiring guitarist. Sip along as we explore government overreach, from the 1952 UK ID card abolition to modern digital ID scams like Oracle's TikTok ties threatening sovereignty. Neoborn shares personal health journeys, promoting natural remedies like green tea and rejecting victim-playing culture. He calls out media manipulation—think asteroid fear-mongering and AI truth-twisting—and warns against generalizing groups. From Eurovision boycotts to Canadian policy oversteps, this episode urges preserving stories to counter division, learning from history, and embracing your unique worth to stay free-spirited. In this episode of Tales From the Green Room, the hosts welcome Chaparelle, the Texas-based pop, folk and classic-country band created by Zella Day, Jesse Woods, and Beau Bedford. The trio discuss their unique musical lane, inspired by a blend of romance, personal experiences, and a mutual affinity for original music, which has earned them a dedicated following. Special guest, Rob Bleetstein (SiriusXM Producer and Host) joins the show, having dubbed the band's music style as “Eroticana” - while Zella Day describes the essence of her theatrical, sometimes sensual flair blending with the band's authentic country-influenced performances. Recorded after the band's second remarkable set in two days at the High Sierra Music Festival - moments before they hit the road to promote their new record, Western Pleasure – Zella, Jesse, and Beau delve into their personal dynamics and the importance of collaboration. This episode encapsulates a blend of humor (touching on the difference between Texas and California hippies!), camaraderie, and heartfelt moments, offering a comprehensive insight into the lives and music of Chaparelle and a peek into their aspirations, surely leading them to a bright future. HIGHLIGHTSZella and I got together romantically, and we wanted to start a band together… and write some songs… but writing songs while you're in a relationship, just two people, can be pretty difficult. It gets very personal, very quick, and we were still in our honeymoon phase, and we were like, why are we doing this to ourselves? Let's stick with the romance. Then we met Beau… that third angle on the triangle… and everything just fit. -Jesse Woods on writing songs while in a romantic relationship with Zella Day and Beau Bedford saving the day. If you look at the packaging of the vinyl…every last lyric, everything really is within the world we've created. And we're getting better and better at being able to decipher what that world is. Somebody recently said to me, which I really liked, that was good advice, and I think it's what we're doing here, is to find a lane and take that lane completely over.. And so that's what we're doing. We're the only ones doing it like we are right now.-Zella Day on Chaparelle's mission to dominate their lane.Seeing you at clubs is one thing…but when you're on these bigger stages with bigger PAs, even though the music is totally country and it's put together, there's so much space in between everything, the way the songs are constructed, the way you guys play…there's just plenty of room for everything. But the rock element really comes through on so many of the songs… I have so many friends who saw you for the first time, and especially some younger ones who maybe are not big country lovers and they were just like freaking out.-Rob Bleetstein praising Chaparelle's performance on the big stage at High Sierra Music Festival.I think we want to just be surrounded with people that we really love and to make music that we love. I think we're talented enough for good things to happen, but the rest of the world's in control of that. We only in control of putting out songs that we love and that we believe in… and trying to hang out with people that we love.-Beau Bedford on the band's aspirations.MUSIC2025 Album – “Western Pleasure” - ChaparelleUPCOMING SHOWS (as of day of episode drop) - TICKET LINKS Sep 20, 2025 - The Chapel -San Francisco, CATicketsSep 21, 2025 - Harlow's - Sacramento, CATicketsSep 23, 2025 - Moe's Alley Santa Cruz, CATicketsSep 24, 2025 - SLO Brew Rock - San Luis Obispo, CATicketsSep 26, 2025 - Pappy + Harriet's - Pioneertown, CATicketsSep 27, 2025 - Ohana Fest - Dana Point, CATicketsOct 11, 2025 - Gruene Hall - New Braunfels, TXTicketsOct 16, 2025 - Fine Line - Minneapolis, MNTicketsOct 17, 2025 - High Noon Saloon - Madison, WITicketsOct 18, 2025 - The Stache - Grand Rapids, MITicketsOct 20, 2025Turntable - Indianapolis, INTicketsOct 21, 2025 - Thunderbird Café & Music Hall - Pittsburgh, PAwith Esther RoseTicketsOct 22, 2025 - World Cafe Live - Philadelphia, PATicketsOct 24, 2025 - The Sinclair - Cambridge, MATicketsOct 25, 2025 - Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn, NYTicketsOct 28, 2025 - The Atlantis - Washington, DCTicketsOct 30, 2025 - The Grey Eagle - Asheville, NCTicketsOct 31, 2025 - Neighborhood Theatre - Charlotte, NCTicketsNov 1, 2025 - The Charleston Pour House - Charleston, SCTicketsNov 5, 2025 - Terminal West - Atlanta, GATicketsNov 6, 2025 – Saturn - Birmingham, AL

Big reverbs are out, intimacy is in. In this episode of the Mixing Music Podcast, Dee Kei and Lu break down why room reverbs and short reverbs are some of the most underrated tools in modern mixing. From making vocals feel natural to giving drums the depth of a live room, room verbs can glue your mix together without drowning it in washy tails. We also dive into the shift from long Post Malone–style reverbs to today's drier, punchier sound, the plugins we rely on most (Valhalla Vintage Verb, Valhalla Room, UAD Ocean Way, Cooper Time Cube), and why EQing your reverbs is essential for clarity. Beyond the technical, we talk about the unpredictability of the music industry, why labels can't manufacture guaranteed hits, and why the only real “secret sauce” is loving the music enough to keep creating.Topics covered:Why room reverbs make mixes sound natural and aliveHow to add depth without washing out vocals or instrumentsFavorite reverb plugins for vocals, guitars, and drumsWhy EQing reverbs can make or break a mixThe myth of “secret formulas” in hit songsWhy unpredictability makes the industry more fair than it looksWhether you're chasing a more professional sound or just want your mixes to feel more real, this episode will give you both technical takeaways and perspective on what really matters in music.SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PATREON FOR EXCLUSIVE CONTENT!SUBSCRIBE TO YOUTUBEJoin the ‘Mixing Music Podcast' Discord!HIRE DEE KEIHIRE LUHIRE JAMESFind Dee Kei and Lu on Social Media:Instagram: @DeeKeiMixes @MasteredbyLu @JamesParrishMixesTwitter: @DeeKeiMixes @MasteredbyLuThe Mixing Music Podcast is sponsored by Izotope, Antares (Auto Tune), Sweetwater, Plugin Boutique, Lauten Audio, Filepass, & CanvaThe Mixing Music Podcast is a video and audio series on the art of music production and post-production.
