Host Shawna Potter talks to Linh Le of Bad Cop Bad Cop as they dig into their song “Safe and Legal.” She's later joined by Amelia Bonow, co-founder of Shout Your Abortion. There's a lot of talk about the importance of story-sharing, as well as: the hardship of finding a real bathroom at warped tour, instruments as a shield, old footage of dance recitals, being both a gymnast and a rockabilly, moving to the west coast, laughing a lot, never wearing pants, gender is not a genre. The Places Between

As this is a podcast all about THE PLACES BETWEEN and where we find ourselves I'm sure a number of you listening might be longing for what's next in life. Be it a new career, relationship, financial situation, even YOU. Isn't that what they say New Year New You? But instead of looking at the year ahead with a big sense of overwhelm and asking “what's next?” I want to encourage you, you might be in the right place to actually step into some new things and new beginnings? What if this was the year you saw or made BIG changes? As it says in Proverbs a man plans his ways but the Lord determines his steps, so Ultimately even if we take steps towards change it really is up to God to go before us. But it also says “where vision lacks people perish” and I believe its good to have something in mind for the future with what and where God is taking you. If it requires a big risk though, when it comes to actually taking that action or speaking a word. They say 20 seconds of courage is all it takes to change your life and with my guest on today's show she had a NUMBER of times and moments this would take place. I'm also reminded that we can work like it depends on us but pray like it depends on God and that's why I'm SO excited to dive into Jen's story today! She's truthfully walking evidence and a beautiful example of what it looks like to commit to a plan and see some new beginnings and changes in her journey. So as Jen talks about her one year quest to LEVEL UP in health, faith, money and love, through her recently released BOOK: “Do These Sweatpants Make Me Look Single?” Why don't you pull up a chair, grab that cup of coffee and dive in with us to the places between? GET YOUR COPY of “Do These Sweatpants Make Me Look Single?” here. Learn more here: JenCarlson.com If this episode spoke to you in any way, would you do me a HUGE favor and share it with someone you know or even further, submit a review?! I'd be so thrilled to continue sharing fun stories like Jen as we walk through the places between. As always thanks for joining us this week and we'll catch you again SOON! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theplacesbetween/support

Ideas and Stuff Calgary | A local podcast dedicated to movers, shakers and idea-makers in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Jen Carlson’s new 100% natural skincare line for teens, Thirsty Naturals, launches as her second business since Canada’s leading baby food brand, Baby Gourmet. Carlson’s entrepreneurial drive has grown with her children’s age - first ignited through her baby food brand when they were infants, and now through her teen-specific hygiene line today as they journey through adolescence. Jen Carlson’s entrepreneurship began 13 years ago when she saw a gap in the market for healthy and flavourful baby food for her own daughter. Thus, Baby Gourmet was born -  an organic, gourmet baby food line that helped develop the palate of little ones. As her children grew, so did Carlson’s recognition of the lack of quality products for their age and stage of life (see her blog post on this here). Her children are now young teens, and are the reason that Thirsty Naturals has come to fruition. Jen is knowledgeable on talking about all things entrepreneur, raising children, and dealing with the often sensitive topic that is teen hygiene Thirsty Naturals Instagram
