A super-special podcast episode is in store for you as everyone from Writeway and The Real Story takes a moment to recognize June as National Cancer Survivor Month in honor of the nearly 17 million cancer survivors in the U.S.To cap it off, Joe sits down with his wife, communications and marketing specialist and cancer survivor, Anna Tower-Kövesdi, as the couple observes six months since she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). With both candor, and surprising levity, they discuss the seemingly insurmountable challenge of facing “The Big ‘C',” from the shock and horror of the diagnosis, to the logistical stress of putting yourself in the best position to get the right care. In the end, as Anna notes, much of the coping is about the rigorous practice of acceptance and "pause." There are numerous ways you can help bring about progress in the treatment and cure of many types of cancer. Consider donating to a fundraising or educational organization such as The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or local cancer not-for-profits. For more information about Joe and Anna, or to help as they continue their battle, you can follow Anna's journey on Instagram @koevia, and/or visit their GoFundMe drive at Support Anna and Joe Tower with Medical Expenses. If you or someone you love has been touched or affected by cancer in some way, please don't hesitate to reach out with your experience by email at podcast@writewayco.com to share it with us. Also, don't forget to subscribe, rate, review, and comment wherever you download your podcasts.

This month's episode was recorded during a very precarious time between the devastating tornados that struck host *Rea Frey* 's home city of Nashville, and the global outbreak of coronavirus, and its distribution happens as most of America has gone into quarantine. While Rea and co-host *Joe Tower* provide a five-point plan for writers to hit six figures, their advice offers the added benefit of utilizing money-making methods that capitalize on work remote-from-home. From all of us at WriteWay, we hope and pray everyone stays healthy and safe. See acast.com/privacy ( https://acast.com/privacy ) for privacy and opt-out information.

In a set of circumstances where male folly played out from the stage into real life, after our first ladies-only show last November, my producer, Brian, and I, managed to lose the sound file containing the recording of the show.It was an epic show, and so, as a way to rectify the shitty situation, we reached out to all the ladies in that lineup and asked if they’d be comfortable having a one-on-one conversation, with me, Joe Tower, about their story, female folly, and how stories of folly play parts in their lives overall. Now, one bonus episode per month will be a one-on-one conversation with someone who’s done our show – perhaps a storyteller that performed before we started recording the shows; perhaps a performer who didn’t feel comfortable with their story ending up on the podcast; friends of the show, enemies of the show; the performers, actors, writers, storytellers, comedians, and artists of every medium who have made the show what it is.But, ladies first. And so, for your listening pleasures, I’d like to present our inaugural TALES OF MALE FOLLY ONE-ON-ONE!From City Tavern in Culver City, this is my conversation with stand-up, storyteller, actor, and writer, JENNA BRISTER. Jenna is a 5-time Moth StorySlam winner, can be seen in the feature film, Permanent, and is the writer for the Lifetime made-for-TV movie, Killer Twin. She is, without a doubt, a Tales of Male Folly MVP, and one of the coolest chicks I’ve ever known.Get more Tales of Male Folly at www.talesofmalefolly.comLike | Contact (talesofmalefolly@gmail.com) See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

As promised, here's Part 2 of our talks with The Wild Brunch duo (Alex Gradet and Joe Tower). It's just as much fun, if not more, than the first! This (and last) week's trope is: Backstory Dump! (aka episodes with lots of character backstory). We watched The West Wing "Bartlet for America" (Season 3, Episode 9) (10 on Netflix) and Firefly "Out of Gas" (Season 1, Episode 8) (aired 5th on Fox). This week we get to the Firefly portion of our talks...and you finally get to find out the winner / our OTP and MVP picks for both episodes! After you finish this episode, go listen to The Wild Brunch Podcast, because duh. (www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-wild-brunch) Special shout out to Cody Ziglar for making us sound good and Kara Johnson for our theme song (and token male guest host Scott Pawley, as per usual)! It's our first two-parter! We had so much fun talking to The Wild Brunch guys (Alex Gradet and Joe Tower), that we have two weeks of great tv talk for you. We watched The West Wing "Bartlet for America" (Season 3, Episode 9) (10 on Netflix) and Firefly "Out of Gas" (Season 1, Episode 8) (aired 5th on Fox). We discuss Mal's love for Serenity, Leo's love for President Bartlet and everyone's love for Bradley Whitford. Plus, Alex brought a West Wing script book, which won him the "most prepared guest" award. We'll be completing the 2nd part of this podcast crossover soon, so go listen to The Wild Brunch Podcast and look out for our episode!
