We spent an intense night walking the halls of the old funeral home, running a full suite of equipment and following up on local stories. This investigation brought forward multiple moments that made us stop, listen, and double-check our recordings.   Early in the night we experienced pronounced cold spots in several rooms — sudden drops in temperature that were captured by our thermal sensors and felt physically by both investigators. Those drops coincided with EVP sessions where clear, specific names came through our equipment. When we played back recordings we heard distinct syllables and phrasing that matched names mentioned during the interview with the owner, creating a powerful validation loop between eyewitness accounts and instrument readings.   Our gear included digital recorders, EMF meters, a thermal camera, and a spirit box. The spirit box produced rapid, short fragments that seemed to answer direct questions, and our recorders captured low-frequency tones and whispered responses that weren't present during normal ambient checks. At one point, a steady EMF spike localized to a single corner of a parlor room while both investigators felt an immediate chill. We discuss how we cross-checked those readings to rule out environmental causes.   Perhaps the most compelling portion of the episode is our sit-down with the owner of Mortuary Manor. They shared family history connected to the building, strange anecdotes about items moving, doors opening, and nights when staff refused to remain alone. The owner's recollections gave context to names we heard on the equipment and helped us make sense of the patterns of activity in different wings of the manor. Their candid interview appears in full in this episode and is, frankly, a highlight.   Throughout the show we break down the evidence, explain our protocols, and walk listeners through the methods we used to validate questionable sounds and temperature anomalies. English folklore is full of peculiarities. The legends of the so-called screaming skulls are definitely among them. These are skulls kept in mansions and farmhouses, sometimes considered to be guardians of the property. Legends abound of the violent deeds done to the owners of the skulls. The book not only discusses the details of some of my most important bizarre experiences via the Contact Modalities, it also presents various theoretical hypotheses about the “Contact Phenomenon”, based upon my personal experiences, such as:1) that all of the Contact Modalities, including UFOs, have the ability to manipulate Space-Time;2) that the perceived physical beings we are experiencing, via NDEs, OBEs, UFO contact experiences, etc., and the telepathic communications we are receiving, are all “Holographic Projections” from an external non-physical source;3) that the intelligence behind the UFO contact phenomenon can “control” your conscious thoughts and even to “project” mental images and thoughts into your “Mind”;4) and many other hypotheses on the relationship between Consciousness and the Contact Modalities.I am currently the Director of the Consciousness and Contact Research Institute, or CCRI, an academic research institute comprised of more than 25 Ph.D. academics, medical doctors, and researchers whose mission is to explore the findings of consciousness research and the phenomenology of “paranormal experiences”, what CCRI calls “The Contact Modalities, a term I coined in 2013. The term “Contact Modalities” is defined as “all of the diverse ways that humans are ‘piercing the veil' of our physical reality and having perceived contact with consciousness-based Higher Forms of Intelligence”, also called “Non-Human Intelligence”. Examples of the Contact Modalities are as follows: Near-Death Experiences (NDEs), Out of Body Experiences (OBEs), Astral Travel Experiences (ATE), (which are very different from OBEs), Conscious Aerial Phenomena (CAP-UFOs), (commonly called UFOs or UAPs), contact experiences with perceived deceased humans (commonly called Ghosts or Spirits), contact experiences via Hallucinogenic Journeys (via entheogens such as DMT, Psilocybin, LSD, etc.), contact experiences via Remote Viewing or other forms of clairvoyance, contact experiences via Channeling or Mediumship, contact via the many forms of Post Death Communications, contact experiences via Lucid Dreams, contact via perceived Poltergeists experiences or spiritual attachments, and many other types of “paranormal” contact experiences with tens of thousands of diverse forms of Non-Human Intelligence, whether they be perceived as physical or non-physical.I, and a professional documentary team that has produced 10 Star Trek documentaries with William Shatner, have recorded hundreds of commercials, rock concerts, TV commercials, Super Bowl events, and other events, and have been working on a 2-hour documentary over the last 6 years. The story began in the 1990s, when a man named "Mel Waters" called into a radio show, claiming to have discovered a strange, seemingly bottomless pit on his property in Washington State. He referred to this location as "Mel's Hole." The main elements of the legend include:     The Hole's Depth: Mel Waters claimed that the hole was extraordinarily deep, possibly over 80,000 feet (15 miles), though there was no way to measure it. When he and others dropped objects into the hole, they reported hearing no sound, suggesting that it went on infinitely.     Strange Properties: Waters described odd phenomena surrounding the hole, such as animals dying near the site, unexplained electromagnetic effects, and even claims that the hole had the ability to "bring things back to life" or regenerate items dropped into it.     The Mysterious Ownership: Waters also claimed that after his initial exploration, government agents started showing interest in the hole, and he was allegedly pressured to stop discussing it publicly. While the story has captivated conspiracy theorists and the curious, there's no concrete evidence to verify the existence of the hole. Many consider it to be a hoax, while others suggest it might be based on some true event or place that was exaggerated for effect. Despite the mystery, Mel's Hole remains a fascinating topic in paranormal circles. Mel's Hole is a mythical bottomless pit in the Manastash hills of Washington state. The story began in 1997 when a man named Mel Waters called a radio show to claim he found the hole on his property.
