Too often, prayer can become a means to an end, and sadly, many times; it becomes a means to a selfish end as we focus all of our prayers on ourselves. In the middle of our Lord's Sermon on the Mount, he provides a model that all believers should follow, informing our theology on prayer and actually praying. And when reading this prayer, we quickly learn that this model prayer is not focused on us as it is God. Every aspect of this prayer speaks of God's relationship, His resources, His provisions, His forgiveness, His reverence, and His sovereign rule. In this episode, we examine Matthew 6:9, “Our Father in heaven.”

It's to see your spiritual poverty, to recognise the simple fact that, apart from the Lord, you're lost, you're helpless and you're hopeless. Apart from Christ, everyone is spiritually destitute. This lesson on Matthew 6:25-34 (from the Lord's "Sermon on the Mount") is on the subject of WORRY!  Oh dear.  With the current Coronavirus Pandemic upon us, this is an extremely important message from the Lord Jesus for all of us to hear and adhere!!     In His words of wisdom, the Lord tells His followers that to worry about earthly matters demonstrates three things:  1. distrust of our Father's Providence, 2. distrust of our Father's Promises, and 3. doubt in our Father's Protection.   What do we do when circumstances arise that appear to be potential situations for worry (anxiety)?   We discuss 6 reasons why Christians should NOT worry in the midst of storms (or any time).  Listen and sleep well tonight.
