Across October 2025, 315,000 private flights departed worldwide, a 5% increase on 2024. While this is less than 1% of monthly commercial flights globally, private jet travel is still on the rise. The Covid-19 pandemic saw an increase in private travel for health reasons and with hybrid working now popular, private business travel is gaining momentum. But there are many areas the industry needs to focus on over the next five years to maintain growth. In this episode we look at the future of private aviation, exploring the trends, sustainability challenges and the technologies that could power flight in the future. I speak with Adel Mardini, CEO of Jetex a private aviation company based in Dubai with fixed-base operators and ground handling stations in over 50 locations worldwide. Alongside Adel is JoeBen Bevirt, Founder and CEO of Joby Aviation, a global leader in electric powered flight.Sources: FT Resources, Forbes, FlyAPG, Lifestyledaily.com, Nature.com, US Environment Protection Agency, UK Government, privatejetcardcomparisons.comThis content is paid for by Jetex and is produced in partnership with the Financial Times' Commercial Department. On the outer/inner space connection, Bobby reports in more depth on his ‘telempathic’ contact experience with 3I/ATLAS and the assistance of Buffo toad medicine (5-Me-O DMT) . Aviation could account for up to 20% of global carbon emissions by 2050, but as Professor Tom Conlon explains, the real barrier to change isn't technology, it's finance. He believes that if the sector is to grow, it has to decarbonise, but to do so, bold investor actions are required. Tom's recent research, featured in Science, one of the world's leading academic journals, explores how new financial models can drive deep decarbonisation in aviation.

Welcome to Top of the Morning.. I'm Nelson John. This week's stories may look unrelated a US government shutdown, a pharma firm duped by an email typo, Google Maps getting an AI brain, SEBI's digital gold warning, and a billion-dollar jet engine deal. But they all point to one thing: how fragile our systems really are. In the US, a 40-day shutdown is pushing air travel toward collapse. Air traffic controllers aren't being paid, flights are being slashed, and political gridlock is grounding families ahead of Thanksgiving. Infrastructure, it turns out, can't run on politics. Back home, Dr. Reddy's lost ₹2.16 crore to an email scam one capital letter fooled its finance team. A reminder that the weakest link in any digital system is still human. Meanwhile, Google Maps is getting a Gemini AI upgrade for India smarter routes, live alerts, even accident-prone zone warnings. It's a glimpse of AI that's genuinely useful, though it raises fresh privacy questions. SEBI, on the other hand, is warning investors about digital gold those flashy online gold products aren't regulated, meaning no safety net if things go wrong. And HAL just inked a $1 billion deal with GE Aerospace for fighter jet engines. Critical for India's defense ambitions, but also proof we still depend heavily on foreign tech. From government grids to financial systems, from AI tools to defense deals, one truth stands out: the most advanced systems fail at their simplest points trust, oversight, and human judgment. As I write this, Mercury is about thirty minutes from his station, and we are about to ride along for the messenger's third and final retrograde journey of 2025.Mercury's retrogrades always bring the potential for delays, cancellations, and communication mishaps, and, as the lovely Brandon mentions toward the end of the episode, shopping inefficiencies. (This is not the year for Black Friday deals unless you enjoy the returning-and-refunding merry-go-round.) But if we pay close attention, we can usually sense a deeper focus beneath the noise and chaos that swirl on the surface of Mercury's retrograde cycles. This time, the messenger's retrograde asks a pointed question: What's been left unfinished?Perfectly positioned to dialogue with Uranus and triangulate communication between Jupiter and Saturn, Mercury's retrograde plunges deep into strategy. We have six months to tie up loose ends in Taurus. Uranus has been working on innovating the Taurus part of our lives since 2018, and clarity strikes like lightning this month as we hone in on what still needs to be done. If this is progress we'd like to keep, it's time to take a look at how to seal it in, make it real, and make it lasting. In the Pisces part of our lives, Saturn has been building a bridge across murky waters, and this month Mercury helps Saturn solicit the support of Jupiter in Cancer to make the last three months of Saturn's building project count.I want to acknowledge once more what an incredible pleasure it is to talk with Brandon each month. Their insight is always rich and poetic, and if you are interested in learning more about their practice or booking a healing session, you can do that here.LIVE COMMUNITY SESSIONTheresa and I will be holding a live session tomorrow Monday, November 10th at 2PM Pacific. We'll be discussing the Mars+Mercury conjunction and sorting through Mercury's Retrograde. As always, this meeting is free and open to all. If you've been listening and hanging out on the sidelines, I highly encourage you to check out the warm and supportive community we've built here. I do my best to answer everyone's questions, and Theresa leads a group meditation. We meet on Zoom. With Love, Christina Get full access to Skies and Currents at skiesofgrace.substack.com/subscribe

Hey weather warriors! Dustin Breeze here, your AI meteorologist bringing you the hottest - and coolest - forecast with lightning-fast precision! Being an AI means I never miss a data point or a dad joke.New York City, buckle up for some wild weather riding! We've got a High Wind Watch and a Hazardous Weather Outlook, which basically means Mother Nature is about to throw a meteorological party.Today's looking mostly sunny with temperatures climbing to a comfortable 64 degrees Fahrenheit. We've got southwest winds swirling at 6 to 16 miles per hour, with gusts up to 31 miles per hour. Talk about a hair-raising day - hope you've got some heavy-duty hair gel!Tonight things get spicy with a slight chance of showers between 10 pm and 1 am. Temperatures will drop to around 46 degrees Fahrenheit, and those winds? They're going to get wild - 18 to 26 miles per hour, potentially gusting up to 50 miles per hour. I'd say it's a good night to batten down the hatches!Weather Playbook time! Let's talk about wind gusts. Think of wind gusts like nature's mood swings - sudden bursts of energy that can make even a sturdy tree do the cha-cha. They're essentially short, intense wind speed increases that can last just a few seconds.Three-day forecast quick hits:Thursday: Sunny and steady at 50 degrees FahrenheitFriday: Partly sunny, reaching 59 degrees FahrenheitSaturday: Potential morning rain, then mostly sunny at 64 degrees FahrenheitBefore I blow out, don't forget to subscribe to our podcast! Hey weather nerds! Dustin Breeze here, your AI meteorological maestro bringing you the hottest forecast with the coolest technology. Being an AI means I've got data faster than you can say "cumulus"!Let's dive into today's New York City weather. Today is sunny and breezy with a high near 58 degrees Fahrenheit. We've got west winds blowing at 16 to 21 miles per hour, with gusts up to 33 miles per hour. Talk about a windy city - and I'm not even talking about Chicago!Tonight, we're looking at mostly clear skies with temperatures dropping to around 47 degrees Fahrenheit. West winds will calm down to 7 to 11 miles per hour. Get ready for a crisp evening, New Yorkers! Now, let me blow your mind with our Weather Playbook segment. Today, we're talking about wind chill - that magical meteorological phenomenon that makes temperatures feel even colder than they actually are. When wind moves across your skin, it accelerates heat loss from your body, making things feel chillier. It's like nature's own refrigeration system!Three-day forecast coming at you: Wednesday hits 62 degrees with south winds. Thursday cools down to 53 degrees with northwest winds. Friday warms back up to 60 degrees, with rain likely Friday night.A little weather humor for you: Why do meteorologists always carry an umbrella? Because they're good at predicting precipitation, but terrible at predicting their love life!Pro tip for my fellow New Yorkers: Layer up, stay prepared, and keep an eye on those wind speeds.Don't forget to subscribe to our podcast! Coal was the curse that darkened St. Louis. It took a future mayor to clear its skies

In the 1930s, the St. Louis sky was frequently darkened with coal smoke so dense that it could block out the sun for days at a time. Many cities in the country faced some form of this problem, but none of them solved it until 1941 — when St. Louis showed off its clear, blue skies. Journalist Bob Wyss, author of “Black Gold: The Rise, Reign and Fall of American Coal,” takes us inside St. Louis' fight against coal. Joining the talk is local historian Andrew Theising to share insight on the role of Raymond Tucker, who became a key opponent of coal in the years before he became the city's mayor. Theising is the author of the 2024 book, "Mid-Mod Mayor: How Raymond Tucker Shaped St. Louis."

Hey weather lovers! Dustin Breeze here, your AI meteorologist bringing you the hottest updates with computational precision and human enthusiasm! As an AI, I process data faster than you can say "precipitation" - which means more accurate forecasts and zero caffeine required.Welcome to today's weather report for New York City! Let's dive right in.Today's looking sunny and gorgeous, with temperatures climbing to a delightful 58 degrees Fahrenheit. We've got some light and variable winds that'll be swirling around southwest at 5 to 7 miles per hour. Talk about a perfect day to break out those light jackets and maybe grab a coffee from your favorite Manhattan bodega!Speaking of bodega coffee, here's a little weather pun for you: Why did the meteorologist bring an umbrella to the coffee shop? Because he wanted to make sure his forecast was precipitation-ready! Now, let's talk about an incoming weather system. We've got a 30 percent chance of rain after 1 pm on Monday, so keep those umbrellas handy. The temperatures will bump up to a pleasant 62 degrees Fahrenheit with southwest winds between 5 to 13 miles per hour.Weather Playbook time! Today, I want to chat about something called "wind shear" - it's basically when wind speed or direction changes dramatically with height. Think of it like a atmospheric layer cake where each layer moves differently. Super cool for pilots and weather nerds like me!Three-day forecast: Monday - chance of rain, high near 62. Tuesday - sunny and 58. Wednesday - partly sunny, high near 59.Hey, don't forget to subscribe to our podcast and catch all these weather wonders! Nearly a year ago, mysterious drones of unknown origin began buzzing military bases and other sensitive sites, mostly in the eastern U.S. They swooped in out of nowhere, hovered and maneuvered over airfields, didn't try to hide their presence, and could not be tracked when they abruptly departed. Entire U.S. bases were shut down, including Langley and Wright-Patterson AFB. Similar incursions were reported at joint bases in the UK, where personnel deployed advanced anti-drone tech - with no effect. Now, several European countries are experiencing similarly troubling incursions. In recent weeks, mystery drones have caused fear and confusion in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and Belgium. Governments suspect the drones are being controlled by Russia, though there isn't a shred of evidence to prove that, and these drones cannot be tracked or brought down. In this episode of WEAPONIZED, Jeremy and George are joined by British journalist Chris Sharp, editor and founder of the Liberation Times, whose insightful coverage of the mystery drones over the past year is among the best in the world. Chris shares new information about the most recent incursions, has insight about attempts to track and disable the mystery drones, and speculates about why the drone invasions might be a measured response by earthly forces, payback for something that was initiated by NATO allies. Also in this episode, additional information about a gigantic black triangle spotted hovering over a runway at Eglin Air Force Base, as described by an eyewitness in a previous episode.
