Margaret Meloni opens her heart to share the raw, unvarnished story of her own confrontations with death - from her mother-in-law's quiet passing at 98 to the shattering week when both her mother and her husband Ed died just five days apart. With gentle honesty, Margaret recounts how these losses, along with her father's terminal cancer and the death of a beloved uncle, forced her to move beyond fear and avoidance into a place of acceptance. She invites listeners to consider a radical truth: that embracing impermanence isn't about being morbid, but about finding freedom from anxiety, stress, and despair. Drawing on the Buddhist teachings that became her lifeline, Margaret explores how the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path can serve as a steady foundation when grief threatens to overwhelm. She reflects on the cultural pressure to "be fine" after three days of bereavement, the comfort of faith, and the unexpected grace of the people who show up when we need them most. This episode is not a prescriptive guide but a shared conversation about what it means to become death-ready, to let go of clinging, and to live ardently even as we know all things must pass. Whether you are grieving a recent loss, preparing for one yet to come, or simply seeking a more grounded relationship with life's only certainty, this episode offers companionship and clarity. As Margaret says, "We cannot protect each other from death - but we can learn to walk beside it with courage, community, and a little faith." Tune in for a message that is both tender and transformative. May you be well, may you be happy, and may you be free from suffering.

Politico reports that Jenny Racicot, a 41-year-old Maine resident who dated Senate candidate Graham Platner, says he entered her home uninvited in late 2021 while intoxicated and forced himself on her as she repeatedly told him to stop. Why is the media still covering for him when they would have wrecked the life of any Republican facing even half of Platner's accusers? Platner still denies it: “These allegations are troubling, serious, and false. Any accusation of non-consensual behavior is categorically untrue.” His campaign calls the story “coached and coordinated by out of state establishment operatives.” But now even many his strongest supporters are calling on him to drop out of the race. Curtis Houck of NewsBusters walks through how the national media has covered the Maine Democrat as an “oyster farmer” despite recurring controversies including a tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol and a growing list of accusers. The Mets found another way to turn a loss into a spectacle, and the Yankees are giving their fans plenty of reasons to worry. With Shaun Morash in for Evan Roberts, he and Tiki Barber react to another sloppy Mets night, including Juan Soto's bizarre outfield misplay, his decision not to address Eric Chavez's comments, and the kind of mistakes that make fans wonder if the LOL Mets label is back. After a week of decisions coming in from all corners, Mary and Andrew begin with a court order issued to remove President Trump's name off the Kennedy Center after a failed, last-minute attempt by the administration to stop it from happening. Mary refers to this as “good news in the fight against revisionist history,” which she ties into their second beat: a preliminary injunction issued to restore changes to National Parks that were made after Trump issued an executive order calling for modifications to monuments, parks and memorials to rewrite and censor American history and science. Then, onto a federal judge in Virginia officially blocking the $1.776 Billion slush fund after mixed messaging from the administration about whether it would be set up, plus a decision by Judge Mehta in DC to overturn the Department of Energy's cancellation of $82.1 Million in clean energy grants to “Blue” states across the country. Mary and Andrew also touch on a Massachusetts District Court decision blocking Ken Paxton's lawsuit against the Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue. And last up, they read and summarize the eyebrow-raising grand jury transcripts of the “Broadview Six” case out of Chicago, so you don't have to. Further reading: Here is Judge Mehta's order reinstating the clean energy grants: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mad.296214/gov.uscourts.mad.296214.41.0.pdf Sign up for MS NOW Premium on Apple Podcasts to listen to this show and other MS podcasts without ads. The Detroit Tigers are not having the type of season they expected in 2026. After a rough first two months, they find themselves in fourth place in the AL Central and nine games under .500. Later, Jake and Jordan discuss even more injuries ravaging teams throughout the league, including Atlanta Braves catcher Drake Baldwin going down and Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers suffering a fractured hamate bone. They then talk about the Washington Nationals recalling top prospect Dylan Crews for another stint in the big leagues, as well as give an early preview of the 2026 MLB Draft, which is set to take place this July in Philadelphia. 1:29 - The Opener: Tarik Skubal eyes a return 24:04 - Sorry For Your Mentions: Tigers rough loss 31:54 - Around The League: Catchers going down 40:06 - The return of Dylan Crews 50:10 - Jordan's Prospect Hut: Early look at the draft Subscribe to Baseball Bar-B-Cast on your favorite podcast app:

The conversation shifts from on-field action to the growing frustrations surrounding the Yankee Stadium experience, as fans sound off on everything from overwhelming in-game noise to long food lines and overall atmosphere. What should feel like classic baseball is starting to feel overproduced, and it's clearly striking a nerve. From there, the focus turns back to the field with concerns about the Yankees' bullpen depth and how sustainable their early success really is. At the same time, the Mets continue to build momentum, raising questions about lineup decisions, emerging contributors, and whether early season production is a sign of something real or just a hot start.
As the show rolls on, the focus sharpens on two very different stories in New York baseball. The Yankees continue to inspire confidence with a deep roster and strong early performances, reinforcing the idea that this team may finally be embracing the urgency fans have been demanding. Meanwhile, the Mets spark growing concern as sloppy play, lack of execution, and questions about leadership begin to take center stage. Evan and Tiki dig into whether the issues are fixable or signs of something deeper, including how quickly the pressure could rise on the manager and why this fan base may not stay patient for long.
Donald Trump seems really mad. He exploded over birthright citizenship after his arguments on it fell flat in the Supreme Court. That came despite his decision to show up at the proceedings, another display of anger designed to bully the justices. He also raged at them over this earlier in the week. Meanwhile, Trump is angrily threatening our NATO allies for failing to bail him out by helping reopen the Strait of Hormuz. On top of all that, Trump just suffered a string of losses in the lower courts. And a new CNN poll finds his economic approval at a crushing 31 percent, with 27 approving of his handling of inflation. We talked to Corey Brettschneider, an expert on the presidency. He explains how all these failures are rooted in delusions of omnipotence, how Trump is coming face-to-face with the limits on his powers, why it matters that lower courts are performing heroically, and why the ultimate check on Trump is really the people.
