Fresh off the release of their rocking new record, Danger Is My Business, we got the special opportunity to speak with AR Band for a full interview discussing the in's and outs of the record. AR Band's latest record, Danger Is My Business is a captivating exploration of musical prowess and creative collaboration. Formed in 2019 by Kent Lake, Ashley Reandeau, and Walter Steagal, AR Band showcases their collective songwriting and compositional talents in this dynamic release. With the addition of Mattson Ovestedal on bass in 2021 and the accomplished Max Brody from the renowned band Ministry joining on sax, keys, and percussion in 2022, the band's lineup is a powerhouse of musical expertise. We spoke on many topics, but the best part of it all was gaining the immeasurable insight into how their sound was formed. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wewriteaboutmusic/support
My guest today is Max. Max is the founder of Cent which is an Ethereum-powered social network that enables users to earn income from their creativity. Talk about shattering the status quo. Max has that rare trait of philosophical vision mixed with technical expertise. He is able to think about what is wrong with the world and then go out and build a solution to fix it. We go deep on this one, discussing the banality of the modern job and the restructuring of society to allow people to do what they do best: create. I also really loved Max’s way of thinking, from taking me through the amazing amount of detail that goes into a seemingly simple design decision, to his idea that you really are not saying anything if nobody disagrees with you. Overall an amazing conversation that I hope will inspire listeners to take action and go out and build. Please enjoy my conversation with Max https://beta.cent.co/max https://twitter.com/maxbrody
Here are some other questions we come up with: What was Neitzche reading from Eastern Philosophy? Are there paths of knowledge which will lead you to be more strong, and powerful as well as keeping the social norms of society? What is Schopenhauer’s understanding of will? How are wills exchanged when meeting online? What does it mean when the Bible says “the meek shall inherit the earth”? What do the hermetics say about goals? What is the relationship between courage and strength? What did nuclear weapons do to our understanding of centralization? What are your critiques of modernity? How do you make people wise at scale? Is wisdom for everyone? Check out Cent: https://beta.cent.co/

This week we interview Max Brody to get the overview of his company, https://cent.co/, which is a new type of social network that monetizes the value created by its users.
Hosted by Enigma's Head of Growth Tor Bair, our nineteenth episode features Max Brody. Max is the co-founder and CEO of Cent, a social network built on Ethereum that aims to get creators paid directly for sharing their work and wisdom. Cent is another example of a “hybrid dApp”, where parts of the product are decentralized (and other parts centralized) for the ultimate benefit of users. Max himself is an experienced designer as well as a musician and writer, so he understands how to build products that can work for a mainstream audience of creators, not just developers. On this episode Max talks with Tor about why he started Cent, how his team has chosen what parts of the product to decentralize, why he believes art and artists will proliferate on the Cent platform, and whether he sees Facebook as a competitor — or as a danger to society. Enigma's new podcast "Decentralize This!" features guests from all over the decentralization space: developers, investors, entrepreneurs, researchers, writers, artists, people in government and enterprise - all individuals who care deeply about building a more decentralized and sustainable world. How can all these people with different perspectives collaborate to create and scale the technologies we need to shape a better future? ---- Relevant links: Cent: www.cent.co Enigma: www.enigma.co Enigma Blog: blog.enigma.co Enigma Twitter: www.twitter.com/enigmampc

On this episode of BlockChannel, McKie and Petty sit down with the founders of Cent.co, Max Brody and Cameron Hejazi. Cent, presently, is a Quora-like Q&A platform built on the Ethereum blockchain. Their service allows you to post questions with monetary bounties via Ethereum smart-contracts. By being a member of Cent, you can then answer questions, and in return received Ether for your valuable insights/contributions. Members of the site then vote on the various answers posted to each question bounty, and depending on your overall number of votes, you'll receive a proportional share of the bounty. It's a very straight-forward and simple platform that allows anyone to quickly start earning ETH with just a few clicks. Full disclosure: McKie is also an advisor for the Cent team. Max Brody is a multi-disciplinary designer & developer. He designs things (from websites, logos, apps, to interfaces), and programs full-scale web and mobile applications for individuals and businesses. He believes that software is art, and that art should be perfect. He likes to say that art is perfect only if it is guided by a singular vision from start to finish. He loves translating that passion into clean, modern, simple and timeless designs. Max is also the founder and CEO of Cent, a platform and system where anyone could fairly make money by creating any piece of original content. The mission is two-fold: To give creators a seamless source of income from creating awesome work and To in(cent)ivize those who don’t think of themselves as creators to give creating a try.
