You are absolutely WRONG about Silence In The Snow. Tonight, Nick and Mike cover what might just be the most contentious Trivium album. One mired by circumstance, member changes, and a changing metal scene from the New Wave of American heavy Metal, to the Octane Metalcore and pre-TikTok influencers telling you not to like this album. But actually how is the music on display? Well, listen and hear Nick & Mike defend this gem.*Samples include "Snøfall," "The Ghost That's Haunting You," and "Cease All Your Fire."
Featured in this weekly hour of music will be songs debuting on the Hot 100 this week from '65 & '75 along with a smattering of stuff straight from my vinyl collection. Enjoy the tunes and hope you find some new favorites along the way.

On Episode 165 of Prime Time Jukebox, we kick off the 2025 Battle of the Bands Competition. This year, we pivot from albums to individual records. Hector Alfonso of Espinosa Cigars and John McTavish of Developing Palates are once again back and participating. The concept works as follows: Dave, Coop, Hector, and John will each pick eight songs. The selections will occur via a “Draft.” Once the albums are selected, each participant will seed them, place them into brackets and you will decide who should move on. We will go through each round on Twitter, until there is a winner from each of the four brackets. From that point, the four bracket winners will square off in a final four. The tournament commences later this month with two matchups a day to vote on. Each vote will be eligible to compete to win one of three special prizes that will be announced. Odkud Karel Havlíček přišel do politiky? Co dělal předtím? A existuje skutečně Betyna? Poslechněte si čerstvou epizodu Vlevo dole!----Vlevo dole řeší politické kauzy, boje o vliv i šeptandu z kuloárů Sněmovny. Jukeboxes were not only cultural touchstones and vital engines for the music industry in the forties and fifties, but they also contributed to the democratization of music consumption in a way that radio could not: by allowing people to pay a nickel and choose the exact song they wanted to hear. Radio's best effort was to feed the listener versus allow the listener to make their own choice. Over a half century later, streaming has become juggernaut replacing the jukebox. Like streaming of today, the jukebox once helped with music discovery driving regional hits and elevating lesser-known artists, turning local favorites into national stars. This week's show will be a thematic one and, yes, we're picking the music. But it's a fun and mixed bag of country, early rock and pop all with the jukebox as centerpiece. Drop into Deeper Roots this morning for some classic Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, Roy Orbison and Little Richard from the edgy side of the aisle and be ready for upbeat and swinging country from Ernest Tubb, Buck Owens, and Mel Tillis. Tune in for a show that recognizes this cultural phenomenon and proves the old saw “what is old is new again”.
Today, we've got a fantastic lineup of fierce females who weren't afraid to sing their truth, from heartfelt ballads to sassy anthems. We're kicking things off with some real powerhouses. Imagine Rose Maddox taking a bold leap with "Take A Gamble On Me," a testament to her gutsy style. And don't forget Cathy Cass with her straightforward demand, "Wanted, A Man With A Plan"—we've all been there, right? We'll also hear Roxanne Waggoner's relatable "Average Woman" and Donna Darlene's playful "I Don't Know You From Adam."Next up,. Alvadean Coker brings us "Insufficient Love," a classic that highlights her backwoods vocal delivery. And of course, we can't forget the pioneering spirit of Wanda Jackson with "Cryin Through The Night"—she always brought that rockabilly edge to her country sound. Goldie Hill delivers the timeless "Baby Blue," a track that perfectly captures a certain kind of wistful melancholy. And then there are two queens of heartache: Patsy Cline with her iconic rendition of "Heartaches" and Kitty Wells reminding us of the dangers of love with "Poison In Your Heart." These women truly defined an era with their emotional depth. Finally, we'll wrap up with some more captivating voices that deserve a spotlight. Lois Williams offers a clever take on relationships with "From Miss To Mistake," a song that's both witty and poignant. Connie Hall brings us "Back To Loneliness," a tune that perfectly encapsulates that feeling of returning to solitude. Barbara Clawson tells us to "Turn Your Love Around," a powerful message of taking control. And get ready for Lynda K Lance with "Fool Of The Year" and Wanda Conklin's "You Didn't Stop To Say Hello," both showcasing stories of love's often-unseen complications. And to round out this incredible set, we've got Linda Cassidy delivers not a cover of "Jolene," but her take on a classic tale of pleading for love. Carolyn Duncan explores the depths of infatuation with "What A Fool In Love Will Do." Betty Amos with Judy & Jean offer a cautionary tale with "Gotta Be Careful." And finally, Oneda Harding brings us "Love In The First Degree," while Debbie Dickey beautifully captures the feeling of being "Lost Bewildered And Confused."What a fantastic journey through the voices of these extraordinary women!
