Since Jay's departure from Slipknot he now plays for Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves. Join Jay and myself as we talk about his amazing career so far (he is still only 34 years old) we talk about his early days with his parents musical influences, through to sitting in with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for the first time as a kid! no oressure eh? Jay tells us how he was taken along to the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (Jays dad Max is the drummer on this show and has been for a long time) to see a new upcoming Nu Metal Band called Slipknot play, and how taken he was with them as a youngster, of course we all know this would eventually be his gig! i dont want to give too much away as Jay is a wonderful talker and quite happy to share his story with us, we had a good long chat. Jay, thank you so much for giving up your time so generously, especially on Superbowl Sunday!! its really appreciated. please enjoy this conversation, and do feel free to share it with your friends.

Legendary artist and pioneering music producer Luc Van Acker might have made music history, he doesn't do nostalgia. With a career spanning over four decades, he has instinctively moved between solo projects; bands like Revolting Cocks, Ministry, Front 242, Arbeid Adelt! & many more and offered up cult collabs and genre-bending productions. His fearlessly fun, self-proclaimed 'insane', and experimental M.O. has navigated industry politics and backroom machinations for the longest time, yet he remains ahead of the wave, forever optimistically searching for new sounds.  On this episode, Luc and Dominique retrace his journey—from self-producing his first solo record in his bedroom to in-person straight-talk with William S. Burroughs and birthing industrial music together with Richard 23, Al Jourgensen and Wax Trax! Records.  He shares how experimenting with the first samplers put Belgian producers on the global map and why names like Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails and Slipknot's Joey Jordison cite him as an inspiration. Luc also tells stories of how he got through his darkest days and what led him to his current 'Twin Peaks' -ish happy place. But not before he divulges how he roped himself into his first gig with Shriekback, what 80's Chicago was like and, of course, the inception of Revolting Cocks. Jesse Starcher, Robert Cooper, Mik Wanamaker and Mark Radulich present their MSlipknot 25th Anniversary Self Titled 2024 Album Review as part of the MHOD Jukebox!Slipknot is an American heavy metal band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, former vocalist Anders Colsefni and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade: Crahan, Gray, Joey Jordison, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root. Slipknot is well known for its attention-grabbing image, aggressive style of music, and energetic and chaotic live shows. The band rapidly rose to fame following the release of their eponymous debut album in 1999. The 2001 follow-up album, Iowa, although darker in tone, made the band more popular. After a brief hiatus, Slipknot returned in 2004 with Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), before going on another hiatus and returning in 2008 with its fourth album, All Hope Is Gone, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. After another long hiatus, Slipknot released its fifth studio album, .5: The Gray Chapter, in 2014. Their sixth studio album, We Are Not Your Kind, was released on August 9, 2019. Their seventh studio album, The End, So Far, was released on September 30, 2022. The band has released two live albums titled 9.0: Live and Day of the Gusano: Live in Mexico, a compilation album titled Antennas to Hell, and five live DVDs. The band has sold 30 million records worldwide and over 12 million in their home country.Slipknot is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. It was released on June 29, 1999, by Roadrunner Records, following a demo containing a few of the songs which had previously been released in 1998. Later, it was reissued in December 1999 with a slightly-altered track listing and mastering as the result of a lawsuit. It was the first release by the band to be produced by Ross Robinson, who sought to refine Slipknot's sound rather than alter the group's musical direction. This is the only album to feature original guitarist Josh Brainard who left at the end of recording in late 1998 while the band was taking a brief break. Jim Root, who recorded two tracks at this point, would appear full time on subsequent albums starting with their next album Iowa. The album spans several genres, but is generally noted for its extensive percussion and overall heavy sound. It was well received by fans and critics alike and was responsible for bringing Slipknot a large increase in popularity. The album peaked at number 51 on the Billboard 200, and has gone on to become certified double platinum in the United States, making it the band's best-selling album. In 2011, it was voted the best debut album of the last 25 years by readers of Metal Hammer magazine.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

Step into the arena of rock and roll revelations with Emmy Mack on the latest installment of Hard N Heavy Headlines, brought to you by Triple M. This episode rumbles with the aftershocks of an announcement that has the Slipknot army talking: the unexpected departure of drummer Jay Weinberg. After donning the mask in 2014 and pounding the skins with a fury that reignited the band's fire, Weinberg's era ends, prompting a flurry of questions about the future beats of Slipknot. Emmy Mack dissects the bombshell, parsing through the band's Monday announcement to unearth the undercurrents of this creative upheaval. Then, shift gears and join us in a celebration of rebellion as Rage Against The Machine storms the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Emmy shares an electrifying excerpt from guitarist Tom Morello's impassioned hall of fame induction speech, where he champions the power of music to enact social change and honors the unyielding spirit of Rage's sonic revolution. Yet, amid the highs, we confront a profound loss within our community. On the choppy seas near the Bahamas, a dedicated metal fan's life comes to a tragic end during Lamb of God's Headbangers Boat Cruise. The 41-year-old's love for the genre culminated in an unfortunate turn of events, leaving a void in the heart of the metal brotherhood. Emmy pays tribute, relaying the deep condolences expressed by Lamb of God, and extends a hand of support to the mourning family and friends. Join Emmy Mack as she navigates the complex tapestry of this week's Hard N Heavy Headlines, from epochal band shake-ups and laudatory inductions to the somber notes of personal tragedies. It's a rollercoaster ride of raw emotion, electric anthems, and unbreakable community bonds — a true reflection of the rock and metal world's undying essence.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Duke of Spook himself Wednesday 13 joins us this week on The Loaded Radio Podcast to discuss his current tour celebrating the 21 year anniversary of MURDERDOLLS Wednesday 13, whose real name is Joseph Poole, is a notable American musician and artist celebrated for his contributions to the horror punk and heavy metal genres. Born on August 12, 1976, in Lexington, North Carolina, he developed a deep-seated fascination with the macabre and heavy metal music early in life, which would profoundly influence his artistic career. One of the key chapters in Wednesday 13's career was his role as the lead vocalist and songwriter for the horror punk band, MURDERDOLLS. The band was formed in 2002 and released their debut album, "Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls," the same year. This album skillfully blended punk and glam rock influences with lyrics that delved into the world of horror, quickly gaining the band a dedicated following. Following the disbandment of that band in 2004, WEDNESDAY 13 embarked on a successful solo career. In 2005, he released his first solo album, "Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead." This marked the inception of his solo journey, characterized by music that revolved around dark, morbid, and horror-inspired themes. Throughout his solo career, Wednesday 13 continued to release numerous albums, including "Fang Bang" (2006), "Skeletons" (2008), "Calling All Corpses" (2011), and "Condolences" (2017), among others. His music incorporated elements of punk, glam rock, and heavy metal, all infused with a horror-infused aesthetic. In 2010, MURDERDOLLS confirmed their comeback and began working on their second studio album, titled "Women and Children Last," which was released in August 2010. The reunion marked a significant moment for fans of the band and the horror punk genre. "Women and Children Last" featured the signature horror-inspired lyrics and energetic sound that the group were known for. The album's release and subsequent touring reignited interest in the band, demonstrating the enduring appeal of their unique blend of punk and glam rock with a macabre twist. Notably, Wednesday 13 cultivated a distinct stage persona marked by a ghoulish appearance inspired by the horror genre. His lyrical content consistently explored themes of death, horror films, and the supernatural, making him a prominent figure in the horror punk and heavy metal scenes. Over the years, Wednesday engaged in various collaborations and embarked on extensive touring, further establishing his presence in the music industry and gaining a reputation for his electrifying live performances. He joins us on this week's podcast to discuss his current tour celebrating the 21 year anniversary of MURDERDOLLS, upcoming solo material, hos favorite Halloween horror movies and much more.

Robert Cooper and Mark Radulich present their Slipknot - .5: The Gray Chapter 2014 Review..5: The Gray Chapter is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. Released in Australia, Belgium and the Netherlands on October 17, 2014, the UK on October 20, 2014 and in North America on October 21, 2014 by Roadrunner Records.[4] It was the first studio album by the band in six years and the first not to feature original founding members bassist Paul Gray and drummer Joey Jordison due to the death of Gray in 2010 (the title of the album being a reference to his surname), and Jordison being fired from the band in late 2013, as well as the only Slipknot album to feature original guitarist Donnie Steele on bass, although the tracks he played on are unknown, and the first Slipknot album to have Alessandro Venturella on bass and Jay Weinberg on drums. The album includes six singles and has received commercial success and acclaiming reviews. A standard and deluxe edition of the album was released. It is also the band's final studio album to feature their longtime percussionist Chris Fehn before his dismissal from the band due to a lawsuit in March 2019."The Negative One" received a nomination for Best Metal Performance at the 57th annual Grammy Awards. The album was nominated for Best Rock Album the following year, along with a Best Metal Performance nomination for the song "Custer".Original Airdate 11/13/2014Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsosnapchat: markkind76FB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulich

Okay okay... every once in awhile, I get super nervous doing an interview. It isn't intended, obviously, and my energy goes through the roof, so hang on to your hats, because I'm off the rails today.I was so ecstatic to connect with Greg and Sean from the global supergroup, Vented and it shows. Vented was founded not long ago, and for a brief time, Joey Jordison of Slipknot fame, was a member. That is until Joey sadly passed. Speaking today with Greg and Sean, I was able to get a better understanding of the hows and whys of Joey's involvement and what the band is doing to push forward. The band has already released 2 amazingly heavy singles and have a few more coming, until we'll finally get the monster in a box long player that I'm dreaming of hearing. If you like heavy music, you already know these guys and you're probably in agreement that this record is going to kill. With that, let's fall off the cliff together, into the abyss of the most brutal music this side of Sunday. In 2006, Kalen joined Korn on tour, primarily on backing vocals, and can be heard and seen in the MTV Unplugged: Korn release in 2007 where he was featured playing an exotic array of instruments. He remained with Korn – often seen as The White Rabbit – until 2008. While working with Korn, Kalen fronted the band The Changing, where he collaborated again with Jonathan Davis on single Jerry Bruckheimer. His career in metal would continue as the lead vocalist for the band Superfix, before joining forces with Joey Jordison (formerly of Slipknot) as the lead vocalist for Vimic in 2016. Kalen has worked extensively in the studio providing backing vocals for artists including 10 Years, Pop Evil, Dragonforce and singing on the Lego Batman movie soundtrack. Now, Kalen Chase has embarked on a new path, building upon his singer-songwriter roots, hard rock persona, and production experience to create a sound of his own. His contagious energy and stage presence captivates the room. His percussive delivery and sweet but cynical lyrics naturally draw an audience to join in harmony. Kalen recently relocated to Nashville from Los Angeles. In LA, he recorded Good Things, featuring Brian Viglione of The Dresden Dolls on drums at the iconic El Dorado Recording Studios. The follow-up release, Let Them Come, features Pete Thorn (Chris Cornell/Melissa Etheridge) on guitar. 00:00:00 Introduction 00:05:38 Live performance "Good Things" 02:54:10 Live Performance "Happy" Check out Kalen Chase and grab that new single which was performed in studio "Happy" Website: https://kalenchase.com/ New Singles: Spotify: Good Things: (Performed during this episode) https://open.spotify.com/track/4f5QQsZN3gwXlpZBpJ5kHz?si=f3c948b1248b496b Happy: (Performed during this episode) https://open.spotify.com/track/0Tjl3glIXec6F1DfaCi08p?si=zIk8VzFHT_eQRQ7ecJBN4A Let The Come https://open.spotify.com/track/0ha9cY7JJCQHcemRpk3zxd?si=tDUs1HvlR4GaeDnA3fAPIQ IG: https://www.instagram.com/kalen_chase/ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRYD4to3/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/kalenchase (Video Singles) Are your testosterone levels falling? Sean Zatorsky of DAATH, Chimaira and a slew of other bands joins me for this wild chat as we talk about my favorite city in Atlanta, and how I love the melting pot of cultures there and how it comes out in the music of the area as well, and how it has informed him as a musician since living there over the last 20 years. We also get into some heavy topics, such as how American culture seemingly does away with any of it's past in favor of "new" and "better" while other countries seem to take pride in it's rich history, but maybe that too is a detriment to it's people as well. We go deep into talking about supernatural things, which lead us to talking about some real life shit that we were both dealing with, and how our relationship was really started over me reaching out to him after the passing of his close friend and bandmate Joey Jordison.
