Singer/Actress Kira Kosarin joins Sam to talk about her new EP, Songbird. Kira talks about her background in a musical family, starring in a hit Nckelodeon show and her transition into music full time. The first single from Kira's EP, First Love Never Lasts, was released on April 20th; Kira discusses the DIY-nature of the album artwork and the meaning behind "Songbird." Kira Kosarin is best known for her role as Phoebe Thunderman on the 2012-2018 Nickelodeon series, The Thundermans. She's been writing music for her whole life and on April 10th 2019, she released her debut album, Off Brand. Her music combines folk-inspired guitar with R&B vocals and production and singer/songwriter lyricism. She's from NJ and Florida, and she's lived in LA for 9 years, training in dance, acting, directing, and music. In this episode of A History of SNL – An Interview Series, we speak to Chevy Chase. Chevy is a living legend in the world of comedy and was a key cast member in the inaugural season of Saturday Night Live. Chase pioneered the recurring Weekend Update segment on the show while also contributing as a writer/performer during his tenure. After SNL, Chase starred in a variety of renowned films, including Vacation, Fletch, Caddyshack, and Three Amigos, becoming an 80’s movie icon. Sam talks to Chevy about his start in comedy, his SNL breakthrough, and life in the 80’s as a movie star. Chevy also talks about his brief return to TV in the sitcom Community (starring Joel McHale and Donald Glover) and why he left the show.
