This podcast was never meant to have guests. It was an outlet to tell stories and to help others make life-changing decisions quickly and effectively. Well... that's all gone out the window. Today we have a guest, Oliver Kelso, who is a systems consultant and a very good friend. Today he shares some 5-minute decisions he's made that have changed his life. Transcript below ------ 0:00 Hey this is Dean Soto founder of prosulum.com and freedominfiveminutes.com and we're here with another freedom in five minutes episode Today's topic is this we have our first guest that and more coming up all right good morning we have a very special freedom in five minutes episode today because despite me kind of coming into this podcast thinking that I would not have any guests on whatsoever because I didn't want to I made the decision to five minute decision to have a guest on and I might even have some more later on if you're lucky. Well 1:00 See, I'm not sure but the very first guest is actually a very very special one. And he is joining me on from the Soto compound in beautiful Central California and his name is Mr. Oliver Kelso. Hello everyone. Man. So Oliver give you a brief introduction of Oliver so you might not know more than likely you won't know. 1:33 But Oliver 1:35 at one point in time was one of my consulting clients and he 1:44 he utilized the virtual assistants the five minute assistance that I have at pro salon.com and did some just absolutely amazing things he took he took these guys to the next level he doubled his 2:00 Income me like cut his time in half from a daily on a daily basis and the beautiful thing is we've become very very very good friends and we've even done some cool types of work together and so all that being said Mr. Oliver I wanted to have you on the podcast one to introduce you and to to kind of give a little anecdotal five minute decision that might have changed your life something that that made your life absolutely 100% different than it would have been had you just done nothing so no pressure 2:45 but I wanted to do that but the first kind of kind of you can you can kind of get the group going by by just kind of introducing yourself a little bit as well everybody I'm this is all over here. I Dean is correct. I am in beautiful emphasis on view. 3:00 Full Southern Cal I mean central Central California with on his amazing property which is amazing 3:08 um yeah little background on me I 3:12 didn't have a lot of focus in my work life for a long time 3:18 had a decent job didn't pay that well met Dean 3:22 found out what incredible things he does and as a result I have not actually doubled he's incorrect I've 3:30 this point quadrupled 3:32 monthly income 3:34 so my I got Can I told you five minute decisions I made okay so the first five minute decision is big the second one small the first five minute decision was the day I met Dean and he goes hey man the current client I'm working with isn't really 3:51 cutting it but I really need to get this thing done so can we just have lunch together and I said okay 4:00 It was a 32nd decision or less that decision changed my life Dean has probably been my most influential friend or one of them to date besides my wife 4:10 she's number one and you know that that decision enabled me to start a whole new business I now do business development consulting as a result of it 4:20 I know he's he's he's really really good at it too man he's he's like extremely good at it better than me 4:28 not true. 4:31 I exclusively though use Dean's VA is because it it makes the whole machine work. 4:37 However, the I think the this morning the more impactful five minute decision was when I got a text from Dean while I was in bed half asleep, planning on going back to sleep for another hour that said, Hey, man, you want to come downstairs for my morning walk? I said 4:55 okay. Give me five minutes. I literally said that 4:59 and you know why let me 5:00 tell you why. Because life isn't comprised of it is comprised of big decisions. And I know that's the point of your podcast, Dean. So sorry. But life is really comprised of lots of small five minute decisions also. And the entire quality of my day would have been different. If I didn't get up this morning and go on this walk. It's gorgeous out here. It's refreshing. It puts me in the right mindset for the day it's meditative. It's wonderful. So to start one's day off that way, instead of, you know, 5:28 doing the usual lounging in bed, waiting for the alarm to jar me out of sleep, and then stumbling around I've got out and it's incredible, so that's fine. Let's take this five minute decision. I love it, man. And it's funny because, you know, a lot of people would say, you know, oh, well, that's not that big of a deal, right? I mean, if you woke up an hour earlier, or whatever, but yeah, I mean, we're out here enjoying this. It's this is a very particular time of day because at least when we're here, it's not too cold. It's not too 6:00 Warm you still have like the you you can hear the sounds of the waterfall. You don't hear any cars, especially on a weekend like this. Oh, by the way, he got up on a weekend which makes it even harder. Yeah, Saturday, 6:16 but they even with this is that now we have an hour to to walk. We haven't had my dog here but we have an hour to walk and talk. And usually at least from our past experience when we're doing this type of stuff, we have ideas pop up that actually 6:37 actually manifest later on in our life. And I mean, 6:46 there's there's been tons of different times where we've been talking or we've been at lunch, we come up with an idea and it's made us a lot of money, right? Yeah. Oh, yeah. So I think we came up with one over that bonfire last night. Yeah, I'm pretty sure yeah. 7:00 So, so so the here's the here's the big important thing with this is that that that the big big thing is to make a decision just like I've been saying in this podcast is that that it's it's way better to make a decision and move than to not make a decision decision. In fact, we were just talking last night about some investment decisions. Oliver is extremely good with numbers and with with investments and things like that, and the the thing with with that is that I decided at that point I'm like, know what I'm going to become the student here and I'm going to learn what he knows about this stuff. I'm going to show him my numbers and see where it takes where it takes us. And in fact, at that point in time, we were we were at we were at Cool Hand Luke which is the 8:00 A restaurant and here I am making it moving, moving 50 you know, plus thousand dollars from one environment to another. So 8:12 that was a five minute decision that that that wouldn't have happened another way from a ton of money is what it's going to do is see i love it i love it if you didn't hear that he said he's gonna saved me a ton of money. So but the biggest thing one more note, five minute decision. Five Minute decisions that challenge your the status quo I find are often the most impactful. Yeah, for me any five minute decision where I'm like, I don't want to do this thing and I get up and do it. Yeah, something in me tells me I should do it. Those are the ones I love. It was the ones that are like I love it. It's my life. I love it. So what can you do today as always action step right. What is one thing that you can do today or or tomorrow maybe it might be waking up 9:00 Early maybe it might be just looking at your numbers. It might be looking at your expenses and saying hey I don't need this thing anymore or might be looking at 9:11 something else and actually taking action on it What's that one thing that you can do 9:17 that even if it seems small you make the decision to do it and over time it brings tremendous amount of value to your life. right there's Dean Soto with freedom in five minutes. Go to pro Suan calm if you want to five minute virtual assistant, someone that you can show how to do something, whether it's through the through an iPhone video, a screen cast, or even an audio you show them how to do something in five minutes. They documents step by step the entire thing 9:53 and then you never have to do it again. They'll do it forever for you. 10:00 Go check that out prosulum.com and go check out freedominfiveminutes.com as well and I will catch you in the next freedom in five minutes episode.
The "Fundamentals" of Oliver's mission has always been to save his city. But the city council is very close to impeaching him and only some strong evidence will help Oliver's case. Fortunately, Felicity has some evidence. Unfortunately, it points to him being the Green Arrow. And that's when Oliver's day really starts to fall apart. After losing his temper on William, Felicity asks for a break. Then Adrian Chase shows up in the bunker! Oliver realizes quickly that it's all a hallucination, thanks to Diaz and his Vertigo. But it brings to light his greatest fear: Himself. So Oliver goes back to basics, dresses as "The Hood" and goes after Diaz all by himself. This could prove to be deadly to our hero if he doesn't get over the Vertigo in time. Jay and Josh taste some cloned cabbage on this week's Green Justice: An Arrow Podcast! "Thanksgiving" is a day that our heroes in Star City should appreciate all they have. But all that may be taken away if the FBI has anything to say about it. Oliver is arrested for being the Green Arrow, and right in front of his son, too! What can the team do to get Ollie out of this jam? Not much if they have to spend their time trying to stop Cayden James. He's had Black Siren steal things that could make a potentially devastating bomb. Somehow they'll have to stop him in time, but Diggle may be out permanently after Curtis's nanites failed to cure him of his tremors and have actually done even worse, permanent damage. So Oliver steps back in, only to find out that James is out for revenge. And he gets it when the vigilante bill passes after some manipulation from the skilled foe. At least we get one positive piece of news when Thea wakes up after months of being in a coma! Jay and Josh try to get the bigger piece of wishbone on this week's episode of Green Justice: An Arrow Podcast. Listen in and justice will be served...to your MP3 player!
今天是平安夜,小狗奥利弗独自在家。他听到家里有奇怪的声音,会是谁呢?奥利弗决定去一探究竟......Oliver stood in the hall with his leash in his mouth and watched as his family walked out the front door.“Sorry, Oliver,” said Mom. “We’re going to visit Grandma for Christmas Eve, and they don’t allow puppies in the hospital. We’ll be back soon.”Oliver heard the crunch crunch of their footsteps on the snow and slam of the car doors. He dropped his leash on the doormat and whimpered. He didn’t like being alone. The house seemed so big and empty and dark.Suddenly he heard something-THUMP-THUMP-THUMP!The strange noise was coming from upstairs. Oliver flung his head back and howled! What could be making that scary sound? Was it a monster? He had to find out.Carrying his favorite toy for comfort, Oliver crept up the stairs. He prowled along the landing with his tummy close to the carpet and peered into Mom and Dad’s bedroom. There on the bed sat a bulging, stringy-tailed beast!“Grrh,” growled Oliver as fiercely as he could. He launched his small body at the stringy-tailed monster, snarling as he shook it to bits.Just when he was feeling very proud of himself, he heard another THUMP-THUMP-THUMP!But now the noise was coming from somewhere else.Oliver raced to the window, stood on his hind legs, and looked out.A tall white stranger stared up at him.Oliver barked and scratched at the window. If only he could get outside and chase the stranger away.He barked and barked, but the figure didn’t budge. The little dog was making so much noise that he almost didn’t hear the THUMP-THUMP-THUMP!This time it was coming from behind him! With a surprised yelp, Oliver skedaddled down the stairs, heading for the safety of his blanket in the kitchen. But between him and his bed, a huge lumpy shape crouched on the kitchen table. Before the creature could spring on top of him, Oliver decided to pull it down from its perch. He grabbed one end of the tablecloth and tugged with all his might. The lumpy thing tumbled to the floor.Oliver butted it with his noise. It felt as cold as ice and as hard as stone, but it smelled good…THUMP-THUMP-THUMP!The noise interrupted Oliver’s inspection. The puppy crept out of the kitchen and into the family room. There beside the funny tree with the blinking lights lurked a fat, wrinkled creature. It frowned at Oliver but didn’t move.So Oliver pounced, and the creature fell sideways. Its mouth opened, and its long, slippery arms wrapped around him.Oliver bit and pulled at them until he managed to struggle free.THUMP-THUMP-THUMP!That noise again! Now it was coming from the living room. This time Oliver was determined to find out what was making the thumping sound.Being careful not to alert the intruder, the puppy inched quietly toward the living room door.A strange shadow moved along the wall.Oliver had caught the thumping creature at last!Barking furiously, he raced into the room……and found a nice smiling man, not a monster at all.“I’m early tonight,” said the visitor. “It looks like everyone is out, except you. Did they leave you to guard the house? Well, you’re very brave to come rushing in like this.”Oliver wagged his tail but felt a little sleepish. The man chuckled and said, “I have a special reward for good dogs like you.”He pulled a big bone from his sack and gave it to the excited puppy.Just then, Oliver heard the front door open…“Oliver, we’re back!”Oliver bounded into the hall, and there was his family, home at last!“Why, Oliver,” they cried, “who gave you that bone?”But Oliver just thumped his tail on the floor-- THUMP-THUMP-THUMP!

And Curtis decodes Ray Palmer's final message to Felicity, but is pretty surprised by what it says. Thea is "The Fallen" and can't get up. So Oliver loads up the team and takes her to Nanda Parbat to lower her in the Lazarus Pit. Together, they begin to chip away at the terror in our fair town, only to climax with a showdown between the two that started it all. Can Oliver remain a true hero and still take down Deathstroke? Listen in and justice will be served...to your MP3 player!

Alistair led Oliver through the dining room. They hid behind potted plants and raced under tablecloths. They waited until the chef went to check something in the dining room, then they scampered across the kitchen and into the dark pantry where Oliver stumbled over something. "Do be careful," said Alistair. Oliver saw what he'd stumbled over. "It's a-a-a..." "A mousetrap," Alistair knocked it under a shelf with his paw. "You will learn to stay away from them." Alistair led Oliver up the shelves to the hors d'oeuvres. Alistair gobbled fancy crackers, nibbled pasta, and even managed to chew a hole in a tin of smoked salmon. "Now this," said Alistair, patting his tummy, "is fine dining." Oliver was still so frightened, that he barely ate a crumb. "Tonight the chef is preapring roast duck with herbed potatoes in a delicate cream sauce." Alistair's mouth watered. His whiskers twitched. "One taste and you'll never go back to the country." The mice crept out of the pantry. The kitchen seemed empty. Alistair rushed about, gathering up bits of duck and potatoes. He didn't notice the chef coming back into the kitchen. But the chef noticed Alistair. "You again!" shouted the chef. The chef chased the mice around the kitchen with a broom. Alistair and Oliver escaped through a hole under the sink. "No main course tonight, I'm afraid," said Alistair. "But don't worry, cousin. We'll make up for it with dessert." Alistair showed Oliver the tarts and pies and cheesecakes. Oliver nibbled the edge of a flaky cream puff. It was so delicious! He leaned forward to get a bigger bite and splat! He landed face down right in it. Alistair helped him climb out, and cleaned him off. "I'm not cut out for life in the city," Oliver said. "You take too many risks for your dinner. A mouse could starve to death here, too. I'm going home to the good life." So Oliver dragged his carpet bag back through the crowded city streets, over fields and valleys, until he reached his hole under the roof of the big oak tree. He ate a late supper of acorns and wheat seeds, then curled up in his leaf bed. He could hear the crickets chirping. Back at his hotel, Alistair curled up in his linen napkin and listened to the orchestra play. Both mice sighed. "I love being home," they said. // //
