On today’s episode, the your Fatsquashes discuss the legality of killing a mythical beast, a round of “Would You Rathers”, football - week 8, and much more. While you’re waiting for the results of the election.... and waiting.... and waiting.... allow them to fill your time. Allow them to thrust inside your ears. Allow them to fill you up.... with brainless banter. Thanks for listening and remember to send your feedback to www.number9podcast.com or on twitter @Number9pod
May 31 2020 Speaker: Ian Campbell Acts 19.1-7 On this Pentecost Sunday (50 days after Passover) we step aside from Peter for the moment and yet we stay with the subject "Living Hope." One of the critical aspects of our Christian faith and hope is the understanding that Jesus' presence and power is continued by the Holy Spirit. Paul encountered some Christians who responded to his questions about the Holy Spirit with the realization "that's news to us." What news! And have we heard it and understood it?
We're BACK and we've got a break into the top five. THAT'S NEWS.
It should be intuitively obvious to the casual observer that the US main stream media (MSM) is exceptionally partial to Israel in their reporting. When the New York Times ran a front page story,"A Day, a Life: When a Medic Was Killed in Gaza, Was It an Accident?" readers should ask, "Why?" In this insightful, 11 minute report on The Real News, the significance of the NYT article is delved into with Mondoweiss journalist, James North, who wrote the piece, "‘NYT’ report on killing of Gaza paramedic Rouzan al-Najjar is a big step forward, though flawed."
That's News to Us crew couldn't be together but we rallied and wanted to represent this week. We are playing a previously unreleased episode with Jason Shoultz was kind enough to lend us his time and perspective on the media and we all tried to figure out what the hell we're doing. Good journalist/husband/dad. Thanks for the time bro!
