She has also obtained her Certificate of Training in Weight Management. Allison attended the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology for her undergraduate degree in Movement Science. Lead by her lifelong passion for health, wellness and nutrition, after graduation she attended the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where she completed her Masters of Public Health in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Shortly after finishing her Dietetic Internship and becoming a Registered Dietitian, she was hired as the Sports Dietitian at Eastern Michigan University. At EMU she provides nutrition support and counseling to all varsity student-athletes, coordinates the sports medicine eating disorder management team and runs the student-athlete fueling program. In addition to her current work with Eastern Michigan Athletics, she has also served as a consultant dietitian for the Detroit Lions, assisted many local high school and youth sports teams, presented at conferences across the country, and worked with numerous athletes of all ages. Beyond her work with sports nutrition and athletes, Allison also has experience providing counseling to middle school and high school students and their families at the Michigan Medicine Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools school-based health center. In this role, Allison worked to encourage positive nutrition behaviors for both the youth and their families, as well as promoting positive body image and mindful weight management.
This episode is SOOOO good! I sit down with Dr. Jason Novetsky of Champion Mindset Group (Birmingham, MI) ad we talk the "Athlete mindset" and #BEASTMIND mentality. We discuss different points of performance and how athletes can dial in to get the most out of their training or push through adversities. No, seriously don't haha I have a lot of work to do before im "comeback status" but I DO shed some light on why I switched my goals from being "weightlifter/coach" to "Owner/Head Coach" and how it had impacted my training and why I've decided to don the singlet again. Then we go into depth on a super cool programming hack I use to make programming for athletes a TON easier and more effective!

In this episode I sit with Molly Marco a local here in the Detroit metro area that I know through a network of mutual friends. Molly is a Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma (Brain cancer) patient that I wanted to have on and chat because she has started her own running group for cancer patients and also continues to be very vocal on social media about the ins and outs of living with cancer and pushing past adversity and doing whatever she wants.
