Send us fan responses! Ever wondered why some people never seem to win in court despite having strong cases? The answer lies in a hidden system of securitization that affects every aspect of our legal process—a system that Don Kilam fearlessly exposes in this eye-opening episode. From a luxurious LA penthouse with sweeping city views, Kilam pulls back the curtain on how courts actually function as sophisticated debt collection operations. He meticulously breaks down the bond system used by courts, explaining how bid bonds, performance bonds, and payment bonds create the financial framework that turns defendants into commodities. "Every time you put your signature on a piece of paper, you are creating a negotiable instrument," Kilam reveals, highlighting how our signatures become valuable commercial paper that gets monetized without our knowledge.Perhaps most shocking is Kilam's explanation of the prison-industrial complex's true nature. When defendants go into default judgment by failing to respond correctly to charges (which are actually commercial terms), these judgments are sold to reinsurance companies and eventually converted into mortgage-backed securities traded on international markets. Companies like Corrections Corporation of America make millions by contracting with federal prisons, creating a profit incentive for incarceration that few understand. But this episode isn't just about exposing problems—it offers solutions. Kalam provides specific strategies for winning in court by understanding and using this commercial framework to your advantage. He outlines exactly which government forms to file, how to make conditional acceptances, and why requesting "full settlement and closure of the account" can be more effective than traditional legal arguments. "You're the principal and the owner of the account," he emphasizes. "Tell them what to do."Want to master these powerful techniques and reclaim your sovereignty? We go into how rest supports the nervous system, helps with burnout, and why most of us aren't nearly as good at it as we think. I share how my own views on rest have shifted over the years, and Helen brings some great insights around embodiment, trauma, and why slowing down is sometimes the smartest move. For the longest time, the coffee community only cared about water's impact ruining espresso machine boilers and kettles. But what about water's impact on coffee flavour? In this episode, I tell the story of how the specialty coffee community came to understand water chemistry: the pioneering work of the computational chemist Christopher Hendon and British roaster Maxwell Colonna-Dashwood, the genesis of the SCA's Water Quality Handbook, and where we are today understanding the impact of minerals on our water. Kaleidoscope Visions panel delivers this month's ‘LEO MOON PHASES Mercury Rx Leo” where we rethink from the heart.“The Leo New Moon cycle enmeshes the fiery Mercury retrograde. Mercury rules connections, communication of all forms like speaking, writing, ideas. During this apparent retrograde period, thought patterns revisit old areas of activity, dreams, passions, emotions, and countless places stored in deep memory. In Roman-Greco mythology, Mercury the psychopomp was the only god enabled to cross the boundaries between the celestial heavens and the underworld. It is beneath the surface where deep emotions dwell that when lit by consciousness bring meaningfulness to our soul's path,” said Sue Minahan, founder, and host of the weekly show. “The full moon accentuates dynamic activating changing thoughts with Mars, Uranus and Pluto flowing in a grand air trine. The tempo whirls in competing ideas to envision how to activate renewed forms.” The moon's our personal planet regulating the past coming into the present. Weekly the moon systematic monthly cycle transitions from the New Moon to first quarter, Full Moon, and third quarter moon phases. Daily moving 12-13 degrees, the moon moves through a Zodiac sign in two & a half days.Joining Sue Rose Minahan from Kailua-Kona, Big Island, Hawai'i are Kaleidoscope Visions panel members, Amanda Pierce, and John Chinworth of Seattle. Send us a textWhen Jesus' disciples asked, "Lord, teach us to pray," they recognized how Jesus connected with the Divine. The prayer the disciples asked for wasn't about polished words. It was about relationship. In this episode, Melissa has a conversation with The Rev. Canon Salmoon Bashir about prayer and its power to transform our spiritual lives. Salmoon shares the story of how his mother instilled prayer as a non-negotiable daily practice in their family life. The conversation reveals how early formation in prayer creates patterns that sustain us through life's complexities.Prayer emerges not as a performance or obligation but as relationship-building with the divine. "The focus of prayer is to be like Jesus, love like Jesus, pray like Jesus, forgive like Jesus, welcome strangers like Jesus," Salmoon explains. This relational approach dismantles the anxiety many feel about "praying correctly," affirming that from ancient liturgical traditions to simple heartfelt words, there's no wrong way to pray. As Salmoon prepares to pass these prayer traditions to his four-month-old son by reading Psalms at bedtime, we're reminded that prayer forms not just our spiritual lives but the generations that follow. Listen in for the full conversation.Read For Faith, the companion devotional. The Rev. Canon Salmoon Bashir serves as the Canon for Liturgy and Ecumenism at the Cathedral of St. Philip. Originally from Pakistan, Salmoon brings over a decade of experience in offering compassionate and thoughtful leadership across multicultural, multi-faith contexts in the United States, Pakistan, Iraq, the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Georgia. Before ordained ministry, Salmoon worked as a Project Engineer in the oil and gas industry in the Middle East. Responding to a vocational call, he joined the Community of St. Anselm at Lambeth Palace in London, serving alongside the Archbishop of Canterbury. He later moved to the Republic of Georgia, where he served as Assistant Pastor in a vibrant, multiethnic, and multidenominational church.Salmoon's call to the priesthood in The Episcopal Church led him to Atlanta, where he earned a Master of Divinity degree with a Certificate in Episcopal-Anglican Studies and a Chaplaincy concentration from Emory University's Candler School of Theology. In addition to his ministry, Salmoon serves on several academic, religious, and nonprofit boards. He is married to Mari, a fellow graduate of Candler School of Theology, who works with a faith-based nonprofit organization. Support the show Follow us on IG and FB at Bishop Rob Wright.
Send us fan responses! The baptismal certificate might be the most overlooked yet powerful document when establishing your legal identity and navigating commercial systems. Don Kilam breaks down how this spiritual record serves a crucial legal purpose that few understand.Right from his penthouse, Kilam explains that baptismal certificates allow you to enter the system as a foreigner when attached to a W8BEN form. Without this ecclesiastical recognition, you're considered a "rogue vessel" lacking jurisdiction – essentially a pirate ship adrift in legal waters. The certificate formally recognizes your vessel (legal identity) within ecclesiastical courts, granting authority that can override state jurisdictions.Understanding the distinction between maritime and admiralty law reveals how consent is gained through contracts. Your Christian name on the birth certificate differs from your spiritual name on the baptismal certificate – a critical separation that establishes different identities for different jurisdictions. Kilam shares how wealthy families like the Kardashians leverage these concepts through private ministry trusts (508C1A) that appear as nonprofits but operate with significant advantages. For those with foreign nationality, this framework provides strategic options. As Kalam advises during the Q&A session with a Haitian woman, maintaining foreign status while in America offers unique benefits. "Every church is a tribe, every church is a government," he explains, highlighting how ecclesiastical structures create alternative jurisdictions outside conventional state control. For more than 40 years, South Carolina's certificate of need law gave powerful hospital systems the ability to block competitors and limit patient access to care. But in 2023, that changed. In this episode of American Potential, host David From is joined by South Carolina State Senator Wes Climer and Candace Carroll, Director of Public Affairs for Americans for Prosperity–South Carolina, to discuss how repealing the law is already improving lives across the state. Senator Climer shares the eye-opening story of a local oncologist whose attempt to expand cancer treatment was crushed by a hospital executive using the law to shut out competition. Candace shares her own experience navigating long wait times for her daughter's autism diagnosis—and how this broken system motivated a statewide grassroots campaign to demand change. Together, they explain how repealing the certificate of need law has unleashed billions of dollars in healthcare investment, reduced wait times, and expanded access to care in both rural and urban communities. Even the law's former defenders are now praising the freedom to innovate and grow. This is a story of leadership, community activism, and the power of removing government barriers to unlock opportunity and save lives.

Marcus opened up about burnout, fatherhood and the pressure to perform, and shared how he rebuilt a more sustainable relationship with training. Send us fan responses! What if everything you understand about your relationship with "the system" is fundamentally backward? Don Kilam cuts through confusion with razor-sharp clarity in this eye-opening exploration of public trusts, private sovereignty, and the hidden mechanisms that govern our daily lives. The uncomfortable truth is that our everyday actions—using a Social Security number, registering vehicles, obtaining licenses, even paying utility bills—represent continued access to a public trust system most don't realize exists. "You're using it every day," Don explains, revealing how our labor provides the value that funds public trusts established through legislation. "Private creates public. Private family businesses create corporate America," he states, highlighting how government entities are ultimately controlled by private interests operating behind the scenes.Drawing from street wisdom and legal knowledge, Don challenges listeners to recognize their position as trustees rather than beneficiaries in this system. He breaks down why the "government name" concept matters, explaining that in America, "you can do business as whoever you want," yet most people never exercise this right because they don't understand trust law or contract law. This discussion previews themes from his forthcoming book "United States of Pimping," which bridges street culture insights with corporate realities.Ready to transform your understanding of sovereignty and reclaim your private life? AI – and how to secure it – is a hot topic right now, and being able to spend time working with the Google development team was really insightful, with how they work with various levels of protections in place in dummy applications. Ryan was especially interested in the back-end logic that was executed in the applications. 05:32 Ryan – “I was impressed because there’s how we’re thinking about AI is still evolving, and how we’re protecting it’s gonna be changing rapidly, and having real-world examples really helped really flesh out how their AI services are, how they’re integrated into a security ecosystem. It was pretty impressive. And it’s something that’s near and dear. I’ve been working and trying to roll out Google agent spaces and different AI workloads and trying to get involved and make sure that we, just getting visibility into all the different ones. What does it mean to be a Mac Admin in the year of jobs 2025? Long gone are the days of having to explain that no, that isn't something that macs can integrate with. Instead we have all had to become experts in so many different silos within the modern IT organisation, from Identity, Security, Networking and Certificates. Being able to embrace and understand these concepts has also led to opportunities in career growth. Gone are the days where hoping for a small windowless room and the opportunity to get some new hardware to test once in a while was seen as a good deal. The growth of macOS in the enterprise has meant that our skills are incredibly attractive to large organisations, especially if we are able to combine technical prowess with the negotiation and collaboration required to drag Windows-centric teams towards the path of righteousness when it comes to a cross-platform or employee choice environment Hosts: Tom Bridge - @tbridge@theinternet.social Marcus Ransom - @marcusransom Guests: Tony Young - LinkedIn Links: Tony's Career Audit Career Audit Template Kane Narraway What is Client Platform Engineering Sponsors: Kandji Kolide Alectrona Watchman Monitoring If you're interested in sponsoring the Mac Admins Podcast, please email podcast@macadmins.org for more information. What if the key to personal growth wasn't radical transformation—but tiny, consistent experiments? In this full-spectrum conversation, neuroscientist and Ness Labs founder Anne-Laure Le Cunff joins me to explore how to rewire our brains for curiosity, resilience, and sustainable growth. We talk about how our brains are hardwired for safety (and why that gets in the way of change), why embracing uncertainty is a learnable skill, and how to overcome the “insight trap”—where we understand a concept but still fail to appl y it. Anne-Laure shares tools from her book Tiny Experiments, including how to approach daily life more scientifically, balance structure with flexibility, and develop an identity rooted in exploration - not perfection. We also touch on creativity, burnout, goal-setting, and the neuroscience behind procrastination and decision-making. The guest is Christopher Johnston, J.D., a renowned trial attorney and Certified Civil Trial Specialist based at the Law Group of Iowa in Des Moines. He has held a lifelong fascination with UFOs, and this passion has resulted in the publication of his first novel, "Roswell: The Truth on Trial: The Evidence Speaks – You Decide." The novel has been described by D. Boeke, a Senior Researcher with the U.S. Department of Energy (Ret.), as, “The X-Files meets Law and Order!” Beyond the courtroom, Chris, a Founding Member of The Hollywood Disclosure Alliance, is also a lifelong Ufologist with a background in both astrobiology and space law. He has completed certificate coursework in Astrobiology and earned a Certificate in Space Law through the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), bridging the gap between scientific inquiry and legal accountability in the expanding domain of space exploration. Chris is a contributing member of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and has authored multiple articles for the MUFON Journal, including The Infratempestrial Hypothesis—a provocative exploration of ancient terrestrial intelligence's and their role in shaping humanity's understanding of the UFO phenomenon. Send us fan responses! The journey toward legal sovereignty begins with a profound realization – your name is not you. In this eye-opening conversation, Don Kilam walks through the practical steps of separating your natural person from the corporate entity that bears your name, revealing how this fundamental distinction can shield you from overreaching legal jurisdiction. At the heart of status correction lies a powerful strategy: converting your name into a business entity. "My basic status correction is making your name a business," Don explains, demonstrating how this approach creates a buffer between your living self and the legal realm. When your name operates as an LLC or unincorporated association, you position yourself as the administrator rather than subjecting your natural person to courts that lack legitimate jurisdiction over living beings. The discussion unveils how the current legal system has inverted natural authority. Families once created governments, not the other way around. Don showcases how establishing proper documentation through "Family Bibles" (essentially meeting minutes for your family) restores this natural order. These private records establish your identity outside government-issued birth certificates, which create what Don calls a "civil death" – rendering you property in the eyes of administrative courts.Perhaps most revealing is Don's breakdown of ecclesiastical jurisdiction. Courts operate under canon law (explaining why judges wear robes similar to religious figures), and attorneys hold bar cards representing membership in private associations rather than actual licenses to practice law. "There is no such thing as a license to practice law," Don emphasizes, exposing why attorneys can only represent property, not living people.Through real examples, including dismissed child support cases and courtroom victories, Don demonstrates these principles in action. He shares practical affidavit templates, status correction resources, and strategies for navigating confrontations with a system designed to confuse your identity with a corporate entity.Ready to reclaim your natural personhood and understand the true boundaries of legal jurisdiction? This conversation offers the roadmap and tools to begin your journey toward sovereignty. In "United States Of Pimpin'," Don Kilam shares his perceptions from his street culture to explain the corporate world in a way that may feel uncomfortable yet brutally honest. He outlines ten rules from the "pimp game" alongside ten principles that apply to society and governance. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F9QHGRGS FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD - DON KILAMGO GET HIS BOOK ON AMAZON NOW! https://www.amazon.com/Million-Dollars-Worth-Game-Kilam/dp/B09HQZNRB9 https://www.amazon.com/Cant-Touch-This-Diplomatic-Immunity/dp/B09X1FXMNQSupport the showhttps://donkilam.com
Episode Summary: In this deeply moving and honest episode, Amy Wheeler welcomes Lisa Becks—a yoga teacher, clinical social worker, and long-time practitioner—who shares her lifelong journey with yoga as a steady companion through grief, motherhood, cancer, and healing. Lisa recounts how she first encountered yoga in her early twenties while grieving the sudden loss of her mother, and how that one class at a Zen Buddhist center in Michigan led to decades of inner transformation. From the profound influence of her first teacher Barbara Linderman (a direct student of Śrī T. Krishnamacharya) to her healing experience with Kate Holcombe after a breast cancer diagnosis, Lisa's story reminds us that yoga isn't about performance or ambition—it's about returning to ourselves, again and again. Throughout this conversation, Amy and Lisa reflect on parenting without a mother, the reverberations of our actions and emotions, and how the most healing practices are often the simplest and most sincere.Listeners will be inspired by Lisa's vulnerability, her gentle wisdom, and the way she lives the teachings she practices. In this solo episode, I dive deep into two key topics: why leaders need embodiment and how embodiment differs from mindfulness. Drawing on 20+ years of experience in the field, I break down why embodied presence—not just information or emotional intelligence—is the make-or-break factor in modern leadership. We explore how embodiment shapes trust, impact, and co-regulation in teams, and why practices like mindfulness, while foundational, aren't the full picture. I also look at the historical and cultural roots of both embodiment and mindfulness, how they overlap, where they diverge, and how to use them skillfully as a coach or leader. ----------------------------------------------- As a special gift for you, our loyal listeners, we are offering $200 off our flagship course, the Certificate of Embodiment Coaching when you use code: CECPOD More info here: https://embodimentunlimited.com/cec ----------------------------------------------- Check out our YouTube channel for more coaching tips and our Podcast channel for full episode videos Uplevel your coaching with a free copy of Mark's latest eBook, The Top 12 Embodiment Coaching Techniques Join Mark for those juicy in-person workshops and events Fancy some free coaching demo sessions with Mark? It's the early 1900s and Brigid is restricted by straightlaced Irish society and a difficult stepmother, but her father is loving and supportive. She and her cousin Molly dream of life in Yankeeland, a.k.a. America, but only Brigid gets the chance once she's married, and a lifetime of correspondence follows. While Molly thrives back in Ireland, Brigid's dream of having a child leads to unexpected problems in a society that values women for their childbearing capabilities. With little to no help available for the problem of infertility, her mental health suffers. Irish author Lacy Fewer based this moving historical story on the letters she inherited from her great-aunt who emigrated in 1908. Lacy Fewer is the recipient of the Literary Titan Book Award for her debut novel Yankeeland, a powerful story of family secrets and societal change. Fewer, born and raised in Ireland, has nearly three decades of experience working in the financial services sector. She earned numerous degrees and certifications, including: QFA from Institute of Bankers; CFP master's degree from them as well; a Master of Science in Financial Planning and Services, and then a professional diploma in Fintech, both from University of College in Dublin. She recently earned a Certificate in ESG Investing from CFA. Fewer enjoys theatre, reading literature, storytelling, travel and studying history. A proud Dubliner, she resides, with her husband, in a small village close to Dublin City, in Co. Meath. They have three children. You can find her at http://www.linkedin.com/in/annmarie-lacy-fewer.
