Hi I'm Carsten! I spend a long time of my childhood alone and learned to listen. Now, I want to learn to become a talker. This is my journey through life, philosophy, different cultures and human problems. I'm a Japanese Language Graduate, self proclamed travel lover, dancer, yoga enthusiast and logical thinker, who believes that everyone should calm down and try to have an open ear and an open mind while talking with other people. After all, we are all connected together in our solitary life.
Hello and welcome back. Glad to have you here again. I'm changing the format a little to make it habitual and get rolling on a regular basis. We'll be going 15 minutes only about just 1 topic. This time it's a somewhat diary like entry as I've been quite miserable throughout the last month and I wanna talk about my experience. Battered down and getting up again from something i rarely speak of through building positive habits. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/beingwithmyself/message
Hello friends~ Welcome to another 30 minute ramble and how i go on about mental health and the need for a mental ambulance instead of a physical ambulance only. Hope I'll be getting back some structure over the next few weeks because I sat down and thought out some great topics to talk about
Hello friends~ Welcome to another 15 minute ramble and how i make myself understand that everyone has different views that make up their own reality separate from any facts that exist. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/beingwithmyself/message
Are you too trying to avoid spending time with yourself through something? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/beingwithmyself/message
Hey~ Today's episode will follow the same path as last one and you will be joining me for just another weird ramble. In part one I try to process my changing habits due to Covid and big transformations of my workplace being part of a big merger. Starting in January I spend a ton of time playing Cyberpunk 2077 and for the first time ever in my life started enjoying single player games. Cyberpunk 2077 was an experience purely limited to me and nobody will ever be able to share the same story and experience that my character had. Even if you choose the same path and storyline it will still be different from the choices I took. I feel that no movie really can capture this connection of a personal story this good as movies are told to you and not experienced by you. For the second part I continue rambling about how life is about seeking discomfort in the most comfortable way as well as about having connection with other fellow pink blobs. Usually it takes more effort to start the first step compared to the next 1000 after that. ~ Carsten ___ Feel free to say hi: beingwithmyself@posteo.org Instagram too: https://www.instagram.com/nezuminotabi/ I'm always interested in getting to know other people. Hey~ sorry for being away so long. I put an update at the end for everyone interested. You can also always feel free to reach out to me on my social media or email as shown below :D ___ Today's episode is just my weird ramble to start of this new year: 2021! I am back to being and talking with myself and blabber on about the strange dream I had a couple of days back. It actually made me realize how I see sought changing my life's decisions in my twenties and regretting everything and anything. However now in my thirties I feel that I finally started to understand this a little bit. And I stopped looking back while accepting my past completely. In ways this made me realize 2020 was not too bad after all :) Happy to be back and hope to see you soon. ~ Carsten ___ All the best to #loveisnottourism Really hope everyone else stuck will get the opportunity soon to meet their partners where ever they may be. https://www.loveisnottourism.org/ ___ Feel free to say hi: beingwithmyself@posteo.org Instagram too: https://www.instagram.com/nezuminotabi/ I'm always interested in getting to know other people. Helle my dudes~ Today I am sitting down with my girlfriend Rikkimaru, who is currently visiting me in Germany. With my country going back into the lockdown I cannot thank her enough for this decision. I'm also pretty sure that there are a lot of people out there still seperated and hope you will be able to see each other soon. Lets get over this pandemic, I had enough of it :D Rikki is a perfomer and dancer who is uploading short funny sketches an vlogs on her youtube. She is also streaming daily on over different platforms, mainly 17Live. Today is a short one and we only manage to get into three main topics. Starting of with our life here in Germany we talk about struggles that living together poses for us. Leading into a story of family emergencies and that we don't really should feel embarressed around people that we have seen and helped through the worst parts of their lifes. Finally we close with Rikki's story about her chronic illness and issues she has experienced with it. You can also see that the quality was quite bad this time around. I found out that this is all be cause of my cheap recording devices :/ Sorry for that, I'll see what I can do in the future. Albeit I still hope you enjoy this somewhat belated episode. ~ Carsten ___ Make sure to check out Rikki over here for all her juicy content, videos and livestreams, which might, or might not, be featuring me at times :) 【YouTube】- https://www.youtube.com/c/rikkimaruworld2u 【instagram】- https://www.instagram.com/rikkimaru_world 【17LIVE】- https://17.live/profile/r/13048093 YeaH! ~~~(°3°)/~~~ ___ Also feel free to say hi to meee~ My email is right here beingwithmyself@posteo.org And Instagram too https://www.instagram.com/nezuminotabi/ I'm always interested in getting to know new people. Helle friends~ Today I am sitting down with my good friend Joseph. Joseph is a price winning upcoming author. He was born in the States and is currently living in Japan near Tokyo. After studying abroad in Japan for a year he decided to come back with the JET program and stay a little bit longer. During that time I was there for my working holiday and we met through a group of mutual friends. Naturally we quickly became friends through both of our passions of reading philosophy related books. So be prepared because today is a hot one. We have a bunch of different topics that we get into and I cannot really list everything but will throw a bunch of keywords at you. -Living in Japan -Learning languages -Benefits of studying history for mankind -The windows of our lives and how we spend time projecting an image of ourselves to the world -Life today and life with the internet -Taking pictures after enjoying the experience and only on the second pass -Stillness -The human condition and our internal battles TL;DR Philosophical deepdive on several topics such as culture, languages, the internet and our internal battles! In other words: Cool shit must listen! I hope you enjoy the episode. ~ Carsten ___ Make sure to check out Joseph's Website for juicy blog posts, close up photos of his face, pictures from Japan, news about his upcoming novel and all that good stuff 【Website】- https://www.josephsimurdiak.com/ YeaH! ~~~(°3°)/~~~ ___ Also feel free to say hi to meee~ My email is right here beingwithmyself@posteo.org And Instagram too https://www.instagram.com/nezuminotabi/ I'm always interested in getting to know new people. Hey~ Sorry that I am late. I'm still here and I'm still at it, doing my episodes. My guest today is my good friend Leo Laube from high school. He is working in a nearby hospital as a doctor and we have been keeping in touch, occasionally meeting for a boardgame or playing together online. As he is working in a hospital we are kicking today of with the corona virus and changes hospitals are having to make to get through the pandemic. After that Leo puts on the hat and wants to know more about my years abroad in Japan, how culture shocks are like and attitude difference we both noticed in our life abroad. He has been abroad for a year of volunteer work and also gives a couple of details about what this experience was like or how people can participate. For now, thanks for stopping by and thanks for listening. I hope you enjoy the episode. With regards to my break, I've had real life stuff come in between me and further episodes, so that I couldn't keep uploading on my once a week schedule. For the most part I didn't find people to talk to that had time, so here we are two weeks later :/ Unfortunately I also do not think I will be able to keep my intended schedule so I will be switching it up and uploading only once every two weeks until the end of the year in the hope that I will get a backlog going or enough people to keep me company for a new episode on a faster schedule. ~ Carsten ___ Make sure to check out the SDFV Leo talked about. Hey~ Today I am sitting down with my good friend Laura. Laura and I met a year back while we were attending one of the biggest and best festivals in the whole of Japan, The Yosakoi Matsuri. Today is all about Japan and why we occasionally feel alien in our own home countries, but strangely connected to other countries half across the globe. And let me tell you its not all about anime, but has much more to do with the culture in general. We also talk lots about Yosakoi Dance and how music guides our feelings and connects us through different cultures. In the future, I hope, I will be able to bring you many more people that are similarly feeling disconnected in this modern life. For now, thanks for stopping by and thanks for listening. I hope you enjoy the episode. ~ Carsten ___ Make sure to check out Lauras Yosakoi Team Komainu Yosakoi Lyon! Hey~ Today I am sitting down with my good friend Carina. Carina and I studied the same major in university while I put my focus on Japan and she did focus on Korea. We start this one off by talking about different cultures and languages before getting into the deep end of the human experience. Most of the time spent this time around is about general anxiety and how living with panic attacks changes you. Finally we connect this to the million dollar industry of motivational speakers and influencers. I'm so grateful to Carina for actually being able to this story of hers and hope it will not only help me, but help out others as well. Thank you so much Carina. A big thanks also for everyone listening or reading this, I hope you enjoy the episode. ~ Carsten ___ Please check out Carina. 【instagram】- https://www.instagram.com/chichiro29 ___ Feel free to reach out via email right here: beingwithmyself@posteo.org I'm always genuinely interested in getting to know other people. After having a great dinner I am sitting down with my good friend David. Next to my - way too inconveniently small- couch table David and I are trying our best to get comfortable on the floor. We got our cold beverages prepared and are ready to dive into discussions as a great end to and already great summer evening. David is a psychlogy graduate and we met a year ago. Both of us are interested in HipHop dance, marterial arts and yoga. Today we are talking a lot about Davids background, how he came to study psychology and about common misconceptions in regards to psychology. I also open up about my struggle with my current and we get connect this to anxiety and discussions about life in general. Thanks so much listening, hope you will all enjoy it. ~ Carsten You are inspired or would otherwise like to reach out? Feel free to leave me a voice message on Anchor or shoot me an email. Today is a Sunday evening and I am slouching in my couch concentrating on my computer and Skype call with my good friend Melissa. Melissa is a half-Japanese half-American born grown up in Okinawa, Japan. She is a linguistic major and spend a couple of years working as a high-school teacher. Nowadays she is doing freelance work and has been living in Germany for couple of years. Today we are going to talk about computer programming, Melissas upbringing and her childhood struggle in a segregated community, and how Social Media keeps people from accepting happiness. I really enjoyed this one and hope everyone does as well. While I knew a certain amount about segregation in Japan this was completely new to me and really hits hard. Thanks for listening. ~ Carsten --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/beingwithmyself/message
Today is a hot summers day. We have 28° Celsius outside and I am sitting down in a cafe with my good friend Jian Xu. Jian is born in China and came to Germany a couple of years ago. He is a fellow enthusiastic Hip-Hop dancer and that is exactly where we met. In our discussions we go deep into the topic of racism, cultural differences and international media coverage. With special attention on China related topics and Chinas role in the current world we also come to look for a mutual understanding of the complex issues that is the new national security laws in Hong Kong. I really enjoyed this Podcast and it shows that we should all try to take a step back and listen to someone else story before judging. Thanks for listening, hope you like it too. ~ Carsten PS Sorry I went so robotic at the end. I might have fucked up the compression. Gonna make sure that doesn't go through next time :) --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/beingwithmyself/message
Continuing my interview series where I will talk with my friends about all kinds of topics. Today I am with my friend Daniel who I have known for almost 15 years now. We also talk about the benefits of living abroad and why it has such a positive impact experiencing something like this once in your life. This is the start of my interview series where I will talk with my friends about all kinds of topics. Today I am with my cute girlfriend who is living 9000 miles away in Japan and we are talking about struggles in our dating life and long distance relationships. We did not nearly touch all the topics I wanted to so we might revisit this in the future. Thanks for listening, hope you like it. ~ Carsten __________ Please check out Rikkimaru. Struggling with motivational issues is far to prevalent for all of us. Finally able to talk about motivation and how having a break sometimes makes us feel less motivated to do stuff we actually like. Back after a sad phase of no motivation so this had to be the topic I talk about. Hope you like it. Expect the first interview in the next couple of days and from then on I'll try to establish a regular schedule again for one weekly upload. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/beingwithmyself/message

I believe we will always have racism in some form but need to stop it having bad effects like poverty or privileges. Even if people do not understand, don't think they cam understand, we can all make an effort. The effort to listen, be nice and educating oneself is something anybody can do to not fall into stereotypical thinking. To overcome the big systemic issues we all need to educate ourselves and be more open and working towards a better together. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/beingwithmyself/message
