With the shocking news of Edward Lodewijk Van Halen’s passing, we look back on the opening tracks to Van Halen’s self-titled debut. The 1978 album introduced the world to the band and their ground-breaking and generation-defining guitarist. We feel we only scratched the surface with Van Halen, so another episode may be warranted down the road.
