A podcast where we discuss creepy things in all forms. We talk about horror movies, TV, and video games, hauntings and paranormal experiences, UFOs, cryptids, and conspiracies, mysteries, metaphysics, and more. Explicit language.
In episode 11 we get back to our roots and discuss the core theme of this podcast: Fear and Imagination. In this episode my sidekick Igor and I discuss our fears, and what it is that we love so much about horror. We talk about the ways that fears can drive us mad and alter our reality into something much more terrifying. We reference a few movies, which can all be found online to stream, not all for free, unfortunately. The Innkeepers (2011) can be rented for $3 on Prime and YouTube. As Above, So Below (2014) is available to stream on Netflix. His House (2020) is available to stream on Netflix. We briefly talk about Lovecraft County and social justice themes in modern horror. You can find more information on why some people enjoy horror more than others here: https://www.health.com/mind-body/why-people-like-horror-movies https://now.tufts.edu/articles/why-do-we-horror-movies https://psychcentral.com/blog/why-some-people-love-horror-movies-while-others-hate-them#1 https://partner.sciencenorway.no/film-forskningno-inland/why-do-we-like-watching-horror-films/1451826

It’s episode 10! Let’s get real! In this episode we’re talking about the absolute horror show that is reality. Please be forewarned that episode 10 comes with a content warning. While discussing real-world horrors, we touch upon some potentially triggering topics including r*pe and ch*ld d**th. Please skip this episode if you think this episode might be too much for you. We’ll have something more entertaining and less intense for you on the next episode. We are constantly turning a blind eye to the terrors of the real world. It might be the only way to live a happy life. In episode 10, we look our real-world fears in the face, and acknowledge the fact that safety is an illusion that we collectively accept. It is a necessary buy-in that allows us to get through the day with a little bit of peace. Join me and my good friend Beck as we discuss our own experiences with home invasions, and talk about how that kind of violation influences your overall sense of safety and security, even after the fact. If you need a pallet cleanser, listen to Three Little Birds… how I forgot the song title to a song this famous is beyond me, but here’s the link, in case you need it: Three Little Birds (YouTube) In this episode I also refer to a couple of very upsetting news stories. This episode is all about Randonautica, a new quantum adventuring app created by Joshua Lengfelder & Auburn salcedo that's powered by RNG. As more and more randonauts share their experiences online, a common creepy thread ties them all together. Is Randonautica something akin to a modern day Ouija board, or is it simply randomized coordinates? The creators insist that these adventures can be influenced by our own fears and intentions. Is that what is causing so many users to report having terrifying experiences while using the app? From the website RANDONAUTICA.COM: “The Randonautica app puts the user in the Director's Chair of an adventure story yet to be written. By using the app, the user can break from their mundane day-to-day and take a journey of randomness into the world around them. Your mind is your guide as you observe and view the world differently. Traveling into the unknown is a journey like no other! Break out of your reality tunnel, re-calibrate your mind and have fun on an adventure into the world you never knew existed. Welcome, Future Randonaut!” What is RNG? RNG provided by Australian National University [ANU] in their lab: "This website offers true random numbers to anyone on the internet. The random numbers are generated in real-time in our lab by measuring the quantum fluctuations of the vacuum. The vacuum is described very differently in the quantum mechanical context than in the classical context. Traditionally, a vacuum is considered as a space that is empty of matter or photons. Quantum mechanically, however, that same space resembles a sea of virtual particles appearing and disappearing all the time. This result is due to the fact that the vacuum still possesses a zero-point energy. Consequently, the electromagnetic field of the vacuum exhibits random fluctuations in phase and amplitude at all frequencies. By carefully measuring these fluctuations, we are able to generate ultra-high bandwidth random numbers." the ANU Quantum Random Numbers Server can be accessed online. https://qrng.anu.edu.au More links about Randonautica: https://medium.com/@TheAndromedus/randonauting-for-dummies-how-to-hack-reality-with-your-phone-using-quantum-randomness --- this one has visuals explaining voids and attractors reddit.com/r/randonauts https://psychicbabes.com/new-blog/2020/6/23/randonautica-app-is-this-changing-our-timelines-as-we-speak https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/subcultures/randonaut
Happy New Year! I'm saying goodbye to 2019 with an episode about the Mandela Effect! In this episode, we will be reviewing several supposed examples of the Mandela effect with a guest. Together, we go through each one, discussing how we remember things. In this episode, you'll hear a lot of jokes and laughing. That's because 2019 has been so terrible, and a lot of things have been rough. When that's the case, all we can do is laugh and try to make light of the bad things every once in a while. We also discuss and try to decide what the Mandela Effect is, or what it means, and what causes it. The conversation gets a bit trippy for a few minutes, but we try our best to stay on topic. This is a super special episode because in it there are many wild tangents, where we talk about past lives, old jobs, and random hockey factoids! To keep it creepy, we also tied it off with a short discussion on A24 film studios and their releases: Hereditary, Midsommar, the VVitch, and the newest film, The Lighthouse. Here is the trailer for the Lighthouse To prove to anyone that I wasn't Mandela-effecting my guest, the Mandela Effect (2019) is indeed a real movie. Here's The Mandela Effect Trailer. Here is the song that I mentioned: Always Look on The Bright Side of Life (Monty Python, The Secret Life of Brian)
This Episode is all about sleep paralysis! This episode came to be when a few friends and I were hanging out. The conversation turned to the topic of sleep paralysis, and when I found out that we all had our own experiences it was obvious that I had to record it. Listen on for unique sleep paralysis stories, as well as bonus ghost experiences from my guests! Our round table talk starts at 2:23 and includes my guests: Kitrina - @kitreenta/@baumveganeats on instagram Jameela - @jupiterfoxtrot on instagram Melissa - @sanukwanderlust on instagram Ashley - @ashefresh15 on instagram We do get a bit off topic towards the end, so if you want to skip ahead, I tell a more recent sleep paralysis story at 48:55. This episode was fun to record and fun to listen to. I hope you enjoy it!
Happy New Year! I'm back, and in Episode 6, I talk about traveling to Jalisco, Mexico during my hiatus, and my experience on the haunted tour of Museo Panteón de Belén, the oldest cemetery in Guadalajara. In this episode I retell some legends and ghost stories that I heard while on the tour. There were plenty to choose from, so I picked my favorite stories. These are also the creepiest stories from the tour, in my opinion. In this episode, I also provide a few updates about the progress of the podcast, and what changes you can expect as we head into 2019. I was lucky to visit the Panteón de Belén during the day time, because photographs are prohibited during the night tours. I really hope that you enjoy this episode! If you would like to view photos from the Panteón de Belén, which were taken during the tour. Check them out here: Episode 6 Show Notes and Photos or visit ccshauntedpodcast.wordpress.com!
In Episode 5, I have a new guest! We talk about what creeps her out, and the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix. I know sound like a California valley-girl, but what can I say? I am what I am. I also brought back the witching hour segment and in this episode it's all about the Winter Solstice. Here's the cover art for that Goosebumps book that we describe in this episode, just to give you the visual. Episode 4 is all about aliens! Alien invasions, alien abductions, and alien conspiracies. I also apply (informally) for the X-Files, and discuss with my guest which partner we’d be if we were on the X-Files. When was the last time you asked yourself: Am I more of a Skully or a Mulder?
In episode 3, I talk about my own paranormal experiences, including my experience living in a haunted house in Vallejo, CA. I also discuss measures for protecting yourself against ghosts, negative energies, and malevolent entities. I hope you like it!
Episode 2! In this episode I talk a little about Thankskilling, and I profess my love for the Netflix Original, The Haunting of Hill House. I also explain the basics of mercury retrograde, like, “wtf is it?” for starters.
Welcome to Episode 1 of Creepy Corrina's Haunted Podcast! In this episode, I talk about how I became creepy despite my scaredy-cat beginnings. I also have a guest on to discuss the creepiness of mirrors, from mirror summoning games like Bloody Mary to mirror magic and divinatory scrying. I hope you enjoy it!
