It's the Part 3 finale! We have a discussion on time loop and time travel in fiction including Back to the future, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Marvel movies, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Time Crimes, Looper, and X-men Days of Future Past. We also talk about the episode including everyone forgetting about Blackwood, the time paradox Sabrina caused, the show retrofitting Sabrina having to choose between hell and her family, Caliban's failed conquering of earth, and wonder how Lucifer and Lilith got out of stone. We'll be off for the next couple weeks, we'll be back soon to start Part 4!Episode 59 content warnings: witchcraft, hell, satan, religion, patriarchy, toxic masculinity, zombiesOur amazing cover art is by Senki R and you can follow them at https://cara.app/senkireignTheme song: "Spellcraft" by Geoff HarveyGeoff Harvey - PixabayFollow us on Instagram at deadendspcast and bluesky @dead-ends.bsky.socialSend your podcast or show questions to our inbox at deadendspcast@gmail.com.Find all of Emily's links here: https://linktr.ee/emilypyleFind all of Brenton's here: https://linktr.ee/brentonpyle
Everyone gets put into peril but in a way that leaves us scratching our heads. We discuss 90% of the characters dying, Lucifer always taking losses, Dorcas getting short shrift, and the comic book escalation. We also dig into Nick's change of heart, Caliban's betrayal, how cool Prudence is, and how useless Edward Spellman is. Things are really getting bad for our favorite witches, but amidst all the chaos we make time for some classic love triangles. We discuss Caliban endearing himself, Sabrina finally snapping at Nick, Harvey's jumbled up feelings, our love of Dr C and Hilda (spider changing and all), and Ms Wardwell being really easily fooled.Episode 57 content warnings: Catholicism, witchcraft, hell, satan, religion, patriarchy, toxic masculinity, substance abuse, body horror, sexual assault, spidersOur amazing cover art is by Senki R and you can follow them at https://cara.app/senkireignTheme song: "Spellcraft" by Geoff HarveyGeoff Harvey - PixabayFollow us on Instagram at deadendspcast and bluesky @dead-ends.bsky.socialSend your podcast or show questions to our inbox at deadendspcast@gmail.com.Find all of Emily's links here: https://linktr.ee/emilypyleFind all of Brenton's here: https://linktr.ee/brentonpyle
It's an exciting week for us former Catholics as Sabrina is challenge to steal from Pontious Pilate's bowl. We run through Easter traditions, the story of Jesus' crucifixion, and the call response portions of Good Friday mass. We also discuss Nick detoxing and Satan's residue, Satan getting revenge on the coven, Hilda's transformation body horror, Robin being a good boy, and Harvey taking a pick axe to his problems. But before we get to all that, we recap the trials and tribulations of in person shoe shopping and our excitement for Witch Hat Atelier. Our amazing cover art is by Senki R and you can follow them at https://cara.app/senkireignEpisode 56 content warnings: Catholicism, witchcraft, hell, satan, religion, patriarchy, toxic masculinity, substance abuse, body horror, sexual assaultTheme song: "Spellcraft" by Geoff HarveyGeoff Harvey - PixabayFollow us on Instagram at deadendspcast and bluesky @dead-ends.bsky.socialSend your podcast or show questions to our inbox at deadendspcast@gmail.com.Find all of Emily's links here: https://linktr.ee/emilypyleFind all of Brenton's here: https://linktr.ee/brentonpyle
Nick continues to have a horrible, really bad time on an uneven episode of Sabrina. We like the care that the episode shows to Nick for his self destructive behaviors and the way he lashes out at Sabrina. This is still an Archieverse show though, so random character arcs are dropped for no reason (looking at Harvey). We also discuss Pagans vs Christians and celebrate Ostara! We're at a real high point in the series right now. We discuss having a great time with everyone having a bad time trying to figure out their emotional trauma. Sabrina wants to help Nick, Nick can't communicate how much he's hurting, Harvey is worried about not being man enough, and Hilda just wants to write her smut novels in peace. There's also fun diversions in a quest for holy relics and an evil carnival. Welcome back to A Podcask of Amontillado, where we delve into the dark, dreadful, and terrifying parts of the world. Archie comics have been a staple of Americana since 1942. And while it's mostly been a humorous book about the average teenager's struggles with school, their love lives, rivalries, parents, and the like, from time to time it has gone to some very surprising, sometimes dark, places! Erin & Gary are joined by Archie Superfan Chris Cummins of Sci-Fi Explosion to discuss the humorous and the dark stories that have come up more often than you might expect! Listen in as they cover the zombie apocalypse of Afterlife with Archie, the witchy terrors of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the versatility of the Archie cast, their cultural significance & influence on pop culture, Puritanical themes & clothing, the difficulties of watching shows from older eras, standout performances, Gary not knowing what he's talking about, good people vs good witches, and the sexy side of evil. This week, Tommy is joined by actor Gavin Leatherwood, who became a household name by playing the beloved role as a warlock named Nicholas in the hit Netflix drama series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Just in time for spooky season, his latest film, It's What's Inside, drops October 4th on Netflix. It was the largest acquisition out of Sundance in 2024, and Netflix paid a record breaking $17 million for this psychological thriller. Today, Gavin opens up about if he often thinks about his time on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, his thoughts on revisiting the series if a reboot or spin-off came around, what he really thought about how the series ended, the spontaneous adventure he went on right after the series wrapped, why playing a character so opposite of him in It's What's Inside was so fulfilling, who he would choose to swap bodies with if given the chance, why he always wants to continue pushing himself out of his comfort zone, his complicated relationship with social media, how he protects his mental health, why the company he keeps is so important to him, how he actively tries to eliminate the phrase “I hate” from his vocabulary, and so much more. Sabrina has to face the Witches Council for an accusation of conspiring with a mortal against the Church of Night. It will take a series of unnatural tests to prove her innocence, but none of it will bring her beloved Harvey back. She'll have to take matters into her own hands to find Harvey's missing soul. Recruiting two other young witches (from a neighboring coven), Sabrina holds a séance, but as ever, Madame Satan is pulling the strings behind the scenes, and what Sabrina taps into is much more dangerous -- and diabolical. And will send our beloved teen witch on an epic quest.
Every witch needs a familiar, and through the ages, Salem has faithfully fulfilled his duties to Sabrina. This chapter lifts back the cloak of time to reveal the dark history of how Salem came to be and serve his master.
There are some things in this world that mortal eyes should never witness -- that's a lesson poor HARVEY KINKLE will learn the hard way, when he makes the unfortunate mistake of intruding on the darkest of ceremonies -- an offense that the witches' coven takes very seriously... Though HARVEY's life hangs in the balance, it is the SPELLMAN family that will come face-to-face with TRUE EVIL. Indeed, the choices made by teen-witch-in-training SABRINA on this dread night will determine the fate of every living soul in Greendale...
It's the night before Halloween, the night before SABRINA's sixteenth birthday, the night of the blood-moon and the lunar eclipse, and SABRINA has made her decision: She will go into the woods of Greendale as a half-witch and emerge... on the other side of a frightful ritual... as a fully baptized member of the Church of Night. But there will be a cost, and his name is HARVEY. And unbeknownst to SABRINA and her aunts, there is a serpent in the garden, their great enemy MADAM SATAN, conspiring against them.
On the eve of Sabrina's sixteenth birthday, she faces a choice that will determine her destiny as a half-witch/half-mortal, an unspeakable terror arrives in Greendale, and her name is... MADAM SATAN! At long last, the secret history of the Queen of Hell is revealed, and she sets her vengeful gaze upon the SPELLMAN family. No one, especially those close to Sabrina, is safe, and very, very soon, the quiet streets of Greendale will run red with blood.
Chapter One of the Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina... Terror is born anew in this dark reimagining of Sabrina the Teenage Witch's origin. On the eve of her sixteenth birthday, the young sorceress finds herself at a crossroads, having to choose between an unearthly destiny and her mortal boyfriend, Harvey. But a foe from her family's past has arrived in Greendale, Madame Satan, and she has her own deadly agenda
