Dee & Andrew dive deep into the complexities of launching and sustaining applications within the Web3 space. The discussion begins with many founders' challenges: building a product without clearly understanding its target audience. The guest emphasizes the importance of realistic expectations regarding user adoption and scalability, cautioning against setting oneself up for failure by overestimating demand. They advocate for creating tools that cater to various levels of user competency, from beginners to advanced users, while acknowledging the need to abstract complex concepts for broader accessibility.Follow Dee on Twitter @deethinksdesign Visit Andrew's Design Practice - https://digital-zen.com/The conversation then shifts to a broader exploration of decentralized technologies and the concept of decentralization versus the current hype surrounding Web3. The guest argues that while financial opportunities may attract initial interest, the value lies in building sustainable communities within decentralized ecosystems. They propose a shift away from token-based motivations towards fostering genuine community engagement and collaboration. By rewarding participation and enabling meaningful interactions, decentralized platforms can unlock new possibilities for innovation, funding, and collaboration.Overall, the episode offers valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the Web3 space, emphasizing the importance of understanding user needs, setting realistic expectations, and prioritizing community-driven approaches for long-term success. Web3 is uniquely positioned for this technology because it provides personalized experiences and a more decentralized data ecosystem. - We think that the web tree scope is to separate the technology of crypto from the financialization aspect of it and to use it across some other things, like how we organize ourselves as groups. We hope the bear market doesn't last too long because more and more people are being drained from the web3. Blockchain technology can create a universal, decentralized single sign-on that is a blockchain-powered application. Follow Dee on Twitter (@dthinksweb3). Pricing your work is critical in freelancing, managing expenses, and avoiding debt. Be conservative in your expenses, be flexible with your rates, be transparent in your work, and demo your work. Hardware prices have plummeted, causing a massive layoff in the tech industry. Jobs are becoming harder to find, and the market is becoming more competitive. Network to build relationships and opportunities, not for jobs. Make friends in the design community. Web Three is attracting a lot of displaced employees, most of whom will eventually find a new job in the space. Many things go into whether a collaboration between you and a client works. It would help if you learned this as soon as possible to have a successful relationship. We all know that asking the right questions at the right time can be transformational. We've seen it happen dozens of times in our work, and hopefully, we've also done it ourselves as Designers. Prompts can be a gentler way of questioning people, behaviors, and routines that, once **they are** uttered, can yank us from the status quo mindset and seed in us a new way and a new perspective of looking at the challenges we face.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/designerdao/message This is a public episode.
