Pt 2 of my discussion with Devin Shidaker of The Acacia Strain. I took some questions from friends/fans on Instagram for Devin and hear his mostly comical answers as well as an upstroke picking challenge he gives me that I absolutely butcher.
This week's episode is with my bandmate and one of my best friend's Devin Shidaker. I hope everyone enjoys this terribly structured and often times rambling nature of this episode, but it is a super fun listen where we talk Devin's origins as well as inadvertently go off on funny things we've experienced together. But our main focus is of course to discuss SLOW DECAY. Our new record that was released 3 days ago off of Rise Records to some of the most positive feedback I've ever seen a band get. Thank you all for listening and I hope you enjoy part 1 of my talk with Devin. I also mention a give away being held between myself and the Brewtally Speaking podcast. After an unplanned week off from posting, I'm back with my guest Adam De Micco of Lorna Shore. Adam is someone that I have a lot of history as everyone will learn. We came up in the same local scene, for a brief period I was testing the waters playing with Lorna Shore (despite going a different direction), I got to engineer half of their record, Psalms, and now Adam and I live 20 minutes from each other in North Carolina. It was a blast to talk about how experiences in the NJ local scene when we were both involved coming up as well as how our approaches and views on music have changed over time. Although Adam is off of social media for the moment, anyone interested in taking lessons with him can reach out to the @lornashore instagram page. Additionally I am now teaching guitar lessons and doing commissioned songwriting. Anyone interested in these services can contact me on my personal instagram @tsmith678 or the podcast page @rifffilledlandpod Please remember to subscribe, leave a review, and share the show!
