Laugh Tracks Legends of Comedy with Randy and Steve

One of the funniest -- and edgiest -- sketch shows of the 1990s was In Living Color which introduced many of us to the Wayans family (and Jim Carrey to boot). And one of the edgiest parts of that edgiest sketch show was Damon Wayans, brother of show creator Keenan Ivory Wayans and a fearless satirist. Whether it was a homeboy with great money making ideas, a supremely flamboyant gay film reviewer, or a misanthropic clown Damon's characters always left you with a "can they say that" moment. A fine standup comic, as well as an actor and writer, Damon also racked up numerous movie credits, an armful of awards, and a best selling book along the way. He's still active so there is no doubt more to come, but we suspect one of his proudest achievements was in true Wayans' fashion making it a family affair when he starred with his son Damon Jr in the sitcom Poppa's house. As always find extra clips below and thanks for sharing our shows! Want more Damon? In Living Color reveled in blasting apart stereotypes -- or reinforcing them -- your pick. Either way, the Homeboys (Damon and brother Keenan) were huge hits. https://youtu.be/FSRQKSqvmvk?si=JPyk2SkwLnlats8W One of Damon's classic characters was Homey D. Clown, a misanthropic kids entertainer who reminds us that "Homey don't play that". https://youtu.be/_QhuBIkPXn0?si=eUqZNbPKbzpmF3z8 Damon has retired from standup but his old sets are worth a listen -- like this one about encountering a miffed Mike Tyson. https://youtu.be/YyQSYZwLFmo?si=j_fqmME-M_w-n-9B

One minute you're discussing legendary comedians. The next minute you're getting shot with an Airsoft gun to reveal a baby's gender. Just another completely normal day on The Rizzuto Show.Episode 101 delivers exactly the kind of chaos you'd expect from your favorite daily comedy show. King Scott finally reveals whether he's having a boy or a girl, but because this is The Rizzuto Show, the reveal involves questionable planning, poor weapon handling, and two unsuspecting coworkers standing against a wall hoping they don't get blasted. Radio professionalism remains undefeated. Before the big reveal, the gang gears up for Night of the Rizzlies at the Gateway Grizzlies game, debates who can throw the fastest first pitch without embarrassing themselves, and questions whether Moon's partially destroyed knee can survive an outfield race. The confidence level is high. The odds of injury are somehow even higher. Then things get surprisingly heated when the crew tackles one of the biggest comedy questions imaginable: Who is the greatest stand-up comedian turned actor of all time? Robin Williams? Eddie Murphy? Jim Carrey? Steve Martin? Adam Sandler? Billy Crystal? The debate spirals into movie history, personal rankings, forgotten classics, and enough opinions to start at least three internet arguments. In Crap On Celebrities, Lern brings everything from Beastie Boys news and Marilyn Manson legal updates to TV cancellations, celebrity health stories, Hulk Hogan documentary discussion, and one of the strangest medical conditions anyone has ever heard of. Apparently some people sneeze when they're too full. The show spends an alarming amount of time exploring that concept. The gang also revisits cult classics like The Cable Guy, argues over the true Mount Rushmore of 1970s rock bands, and somehow turns a discussion about diarrhea into a surprisingly detailed scientific investigation. Nobody asked for that. Yet here we are.And because becoming a father isn't stressful enough, King Scott sticks around for "Feed Baby Scott," where listeners try to identify mystery baby foods while Scott gets spoon-fed questionable purees. Future fatherhood preparation? Not exactly. Entertaining radio? Absolutely. If you're looking for a daily comedy show packed with ridiculous debates, weird celebrity news, accidental life lessons, and a room full of adults behaving like unsupervised middle schoolers, this episode delivers all of it.Congratulations to Scott and Allison on their baby girl, condolences to everyone who got hit with an Airsoft pellet, and good luck getting the phrase "explosive diarrhea" out of your head. Thanks for listening to another daily comedy show from The Rizzuto Show.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

If you've ever convinced yourself you were dying only to discover you just forgot your morning coffee, congratulations—you and Moon have something in common. This episode begins with Moon's dramatic weekend health crisis, which included headaches, body aches, sweating, canceled plans, and a genuine belief that he had caught the flu. After missing parties, skipping events, and suffering through a soccer match, the shocking diagnosis arrived: accidental caffeine withdrawal. One decaf mistake later, Moon was spiraling. Two rose lattes later, he was ready to conquer the world, write albums, and possibly become mayor of Paris.Meanwhile, the crew breaks down one of the most unexpected party surprises in recent memory when former Blues star Jamie Rivers decides the perfect pool-opening gift for his fiancée Ashley is... live monkeys. Not monkey decorations. Not monkey-themed cupcakes. Actual monkeys. Naturally, the monkeys arrive during a crowded backyard party packed with guests, children, music, and enough chaos to make everyone question several life choices. The result is equal parts adorable, confusing, and mildly terrifying. The conversation somehow escalates into monkey behavior analysis, party planning mistakes, surprise animal logistics, and the realization that getting bitten by a monkey in a bikini was probably not on anyone's weekend bingo card. The gang also recaps King Scott's massive baby shower, complete with mountains of gifts, bacon, desserts, and the looming anticipation of the show's upcoming gender reveal. There are discussions about weird party foods, mysterious hot-dog cake creations, and why some recipes should maybe stay inside family cookbooks. As if that wasn't enough, Rafe conducts what can only be described as investigative journalism by revisiting a local Hooters. What follows is an unexpectedly deep exploration of restaurant culture, paper plates, silent dining rooms, forgotten glory days, and whether a restaurant can accidentally become an existential experience. It's part food review, part sociology experiment, and part cry for help. The crew also tackles one of life's toughest questions: what's the saddest food to eat alone? Cake? Ice cream? A blooming onion? The answers get surprisingly personal as stories of lonely desserts, spaghetti mishaps, old promotional cakes, and questionable life decisions come flooding out. From caffeine dependency and monkey business to restaurant nostalgia and emotional food debates, this episode delivers exactly the kind of beautiful nonsense that makes this daily comedy show what it is. If you're looking for a daily comedy show that can seamlessly connect French coffee, poolside monkeys, hot-dog cake, and Hooters trivia without ever making sense, you've found your people. One minute you're discussing legendary comedians. Absolutely.Today's episode of The Rizzuto Show answers a question absolutely nobody asked: can King Scott identify baby food flavors while blindfolded and trapped in audio isolation?Armed with an airplane spoon, questionable parenting products, and the confidence of a man who claimed he'd "never gotten this wrong before," Scott stepped into one of the weirdest challenges we've ever put on the show. What followed was a rollercoaster of carrots, sweet peas, green beans, applesauce, chicken broth, and enough pureed mystery meat to make everyone in the room reconsider modern food science.Things start innocent enough when Scott confidently nails carrot. That's where the success story ends. Soon he's identifying sweet peas as asparagus, green beans as apricot, and repeatedly convincing himself that every suspicious meat product on earth somehow tastes like tuna. Meanwhile, Moon embraces his new role as Baby Food Sommelier, Rafe nearly loses his lunch from the smell of ham puree, and Lern spends most of the challenge laughing at Scott looking like he's awaiting sentencing in the electric chair.Along the way, the gang talks about the upcoming Operation Food Search canned food drive, broadcasting outside the station for the first time in years, and why the studio might actually be the sixth member of the show. Then it's right back to watching a grown man try to process flavors designed for people who can't legally walk yet.The real star of the show might be the baby food itself. The ham and gravy drew immediate comparisons to cat food. The chicken and broth somehow smelled worse. Multiple show members gagged. One nearly threw up. Scott requested second bites of several flavors despite clear evidence that his taste buds had already filed formal complaints. If you've ever wondered what happens when confidence collides head-on with pureed meat products, this episode delivers. It's a masterclass in bad guesses, terrible smells, and the kind of chaos that only happens when a daily radio show decides to turn one of its hosts into a giant toddler for entertainment purposes. This is exactly the kind of funny podcast nonsense that keeps us employed. It's a funny podcast filled with bad decisions, questionable food choices, and a shocking amount of discussion about tuna that wasn't actually tuna. Dr. Danny Brassell is a globally recognized speaker, author, coach, and storytelling expert who has spent more than three decades helping individuals and organizations communicate with greater clarity, confidence, and impact. Often referred to as “Jim Carrey with a Ph.D.,” Danny blends high energy, humor, and practical wisdom to inspire audiences around the world. A former inner-city teacher, university professor, and distinguished visiting professor at The American University in Cairo, Danny has delivered more than 3,500 presentations across four continents and authored more than 20 books focused on leadership, literacy, motivation, and communication. Today, as co-founder of WellCrafted Story, he helps entrepreneurs, executives, and business owners craft stories and presentations that convert audiences into clients and inspire meaningful action.Throughout his career, Danny has remained passionate about one central mission: helping people unlock the power of their own stories. From teaching bilingual students in South Central Los Angeles to coaching leaders and business owners on stages worldwide, Danny believes the right story told at the right time can transform lives, businesses, and communities. Some of the powerful ideas Danny and I explored during our conversation included:What if becoming an expert starts with embracing being an amateur first? Danny discussed the importance of “the power of the pause” and why transitions become easier when you stop expecting yourself to have all the answers immediately. Protecting your confidence and identity during periods of change is critical to long-term success. How do you overcome imposter syndrome without overwhelming yourself? Danny emphasized starting with the “low-hanging fruit” — focusing first on smaller groups, familiar environments, and manageable opportunities before accelerating into larger projects and bigger stages. Why can't you outsource your growth? As Danny said, “You can't pay others to do your push-ups.” Success requires repetition, discipline, and putting in the reps yourself. There are no shortcuts to building confidence, competence, and credibility. What role do emotions and grief play during transition? Danny reminded us that all emotions experienced during major life or career changes are normal. Eventually, you arrive at a place of indifference — and often, that is where you can operate most effectively and make the clearest strategic decisions. Can you become a great leader without being a reader? Danny shared his belief that while not every avid reader becomes a great leader, it is difficult to think of a truly effective leader who is not a committed reader and continuous learner. Lifelong learning is not optional for sustained growth. Why is execution more valuable than education alone? One of Danny's most impactful insights was: “Education is valuable, but execution is priceless. Knowledge is not power; only applied knowledge is power. Knowing the right thing to do and doing the right thing are two very different things.” The challenge for all of us is to move from learning into action. As a special gift to listeners of the podcast, Dr. Danny Brassell is offering a free 30-minute phone call to help you create your own story and system that converts conversations into clients. Send us Fan MailDust off your flannel and turn up the volume! The Back in Time Brothers are taking you on an immediate transport mission back to 1995—a legendary year where the wall of sound met the industrial groove. This week, DJ Paulie and Lou team up with DJ Britt to count down the top 10 most infectious, heavy, and melodic guitar hooks that lived in your head rent-free during the golden era of alternative rock. From the gritty Seattle sludge of Alice in Chains to the massive layered buzzsaw tones of The Smashing Pumpkins, we are cranking the amps all the way to 11! Plus, we dive into a hilarious connection involving rock royalty marriages and a notorious backstage affair. But we aren't just spinning records. The brothers are breaking down the massive, mind-blowing headlines that made 1995 absolutely unforgettable:The News Room: We look back at the climax of the O.J. Simpson trial, the tragic Oklahoma City bombing, and the tech revolution of Windows 95.The Silver Screen: How Toy Story effectively retired hand-drawn animation, Jim Carrey's historic $20 million salary, and the dark thriller Seven that left theater audiences in stunned silence.Rock Talk (The Dark Side): Special guest Todd Snyder stops by to unpack the explosive rock scandals of '95, including the vitriolic "Battle of Britpop" between Blur and Oasis, Courtney Love crashing Madonna's MTV interview, and Pearl Jam's brutal war against Ticketmaster.Retro Snacks: A nostalgic trip down the food aisle! We reminisce about the debut of Pizza Hut's stuffed crust, the dangerously caffeinated Surge, Dunkaroos, and Planters PB Crisps.Whether you're a long-time loyal listener or tuning in from Germany, Japan, or Vietnam, grab a cold drink and get ready to rock.

Rambo Van Halen is a pseudonym. He's a Hollywood producer — the real kind, the below-the-line kind, the guy making sure the steel gets to the factory — who worked in the industry for decades, walked away in 2019, and wrote a book about it.The book is called Hollywood Samizdat: Notes from Below the Line. It's published by Passage Press. Lou read it. He dog-eared it. They talked for an hour. Topics include: what a producer actually does (mostly administration, definitely not what people think); what happens to actors when nobody says no to them for 20 years; the feminization of Hollywood and why straight guys stopped being able to do their jobs; military veterans vs. film school graduates on set (no contest); Werner Herzog, Klaus Kinski, and the Amazon river; the unwritten casting rule about who can and can't be the butt of the joke; MeToo — the careers it should have ended, the ones it shouldn't have, and the Joe Gatt story that will make your jaw drop; and why Rambo Van Halen is not his real name and probably never will be. At the very height of his mid '90's superstardom, Jim Carrey (Ace Ventura, The Truman Show, Liar Liar) received a then record-setting $20 million paycheck to star in this dark comedy directed by Ben Stiller (Tropic Thunder, Zoolander, Reality Bites).  Carrey starred as a the titular Cable Guy who installs cable television for a newly single bachelor (Matthew Broderick) living in Los Angeles but then makes the mistake of trying to become friends with him and eventually stalking him. :o  And hilarity ensues!  Well as it turned out, the movie was quite funny but at the time was poorly received for being just too dark compared to Carrey's recent more family friendly comedies.  However in the almost thirty years since its release, this has become much more appreciated for its biting satire and is often considered by many fans of Carrey to be among his best performances.   Also co-starring Jack Black and Leslie Mann both very early in their careers, it's time to grab a board.....and/or remote....and go channel surfing!! Host & Editor: Geoff GershonProducer: Marlene Gershon Send us Fan MailSupport the showhttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

A Pennsylvania man demolished his own house with an excavator after his wife said the marriage was over — which is a wild story, but also a useful case study in what not to do when you're angry. Jim Carrey showed up to a French awards ceremony looking unrecognizable, which opens a bigger conversation about image, aging, and why the only foundation for genuine self-acceptance is knowing you are created in the image of God, fearfully and wonderfully made. Carl Truman has coined a new term — Gig Eva — and it's more concerning than Big Eva: online evangelical influencers who are accountable to no one, may not even be real, and are quietly replacing the local church as the primary discipleship vehicle for millions. Mitt Romney told Harvard Business School graduates that the true measure of wealth is the people you love and your friends — which is either obvious or convicting depending on how you're actually spending your time. Nate Bargatze on why not cursing actually gives you more freedom as a comedian, and what that says about being distinctively different in your field. And a closing devotion from Charles Stanley on the stages of the Christian journey — recognizing where God is working right now, and why we all need people ahead of us, behind us, and alongside us in the race.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Directed by Michel Gondry from a screenplay he wrote with Charlie Kaufman and Pierre Bismuth, Eternal Sunshine asks and answers the question 'If you could totally erase an ex-lover from your memory, would you?' Jim Carrey plays mild-mannered Joel Barish, who meets and falls for free-spirited Clementine Kruczynski, whose hair changes to match her moods. They fall in love then fall out again, and after their break-up, Joel discovers Clementine has quite literally forgotten he exists. The movie follows Joel as he undertakes to wipe his own memories of their relationship. The Junkies ask themselves (and you) if there are any memories they'd pay to erase, and if not, why not? Send Kevin a Text MessageMark Canton, producer of 300, Immortals, Men in Black, Air Force One, and My Best Friend's Wedding, former President of Worldwide Production at Warner Bros., and former Chairman of Columbia Pictures and Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Companies, joins host Kevin Goetz for a conversation about a career defined by passion and instinct. From delivering mail on the Warner Bros. lot as a college student to greenlighting some of Hollywood's most beloved films, Canton reflects on the legends he learned from, the risks he took, and why he still smells the circus every time he walks onto a sound stage.Queens, New York, and Family (02:34): Canton traces his love of film to a father who survived being shot down over France in WWII, won an Oscar for a short film on Van Gogh, and went on to do publicity for Hitchcock and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and to a mother who was a published poet. The movies, he says, were always destiny.Learning from the Greats on Papillon (15:22): Working for director Franklin Schaffner in Jamaica and living between the houses of Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman, Canton learned what it meant to commit to a film. From the Warner Bros. Mail Room to Running the Studio (20:31): Canton traces his rise from UCLA film student to head of Worldwide Production at Warner Bros., sharing stories about the Vacation franchise, Caddyshack, and Lethal Weapon.Taking the Helm at Columbia Pictures (39:22): Recruited by Peter Guber and Jon Peters, Canton became Chairman of Columbia Pictures and later oversaw Columbia TriStar. He reflects on the team he assembled and the record-breaking run that followed, including Jerry Maguire, My Best Friend's Wedding, Bad Boys, and Air Force One.The Art of the Difficult Screening (47:51): Canton recounts two defining test screening moments: a chaotic preview of Scorsese's The Age of Innocence in a New Jersey bowling alley, and a tough audience response to Luc Besson's Léon: The Professional that led to an ultimatum and a reworked film that became a modern classic. The Cable Guy and No Regrets (50:43): Canton defends paying Jim Carrey $17 million and notes what history confirmed: the film launched Ben Stiller's directing career, introduced Jack Black, Owen Wilson, and Judd Apatow. He also recalls his affectionate standoff with Mike Nichols over the ending of Wolf. What Keeps Audiences Coming Back (54:50): Canton argues that what fills theaters today is the same thing that made Purple Rain a phenomenon: the feeling of a live, communal, irreplaceable experience.Host: Kevin GoetzGuest: Mark CantonProducer: Kari CampanoWriters: Kevin Goetz, Darlene Hayman, and Kari CampanoAudio Engineer: Gary Forbes (DG Entertainment)For more information about Mark Canton:Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_CantonIMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004799/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/markcanton/?hl=enFor more information about Kevin Goetz:- Website: www.KevinGoetz360.com- Audienceology Book: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Audience-ology/Kevin-Goetz/9781982186678- How to Score in Hollywood: https://www.amazon.com/How-Score-Hollywood-Secrets-Business/dp/198218986X/- Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Substack: @KevinGoetz360- LinkedIn @Kevin Goetz- Screen Engine/ASI Website: www.ScreenEngineASI.com

In this episode of Your Weekly Calling, Brad Lowe dives deep into Psalm 84:10 and the powerful idea that God's presence matters more than position. Brad challenges the mindset of constantly chasing the “next thing” and asks a hard question: What if the place you're trying to leave is actually the place God wants to meet you?Using David's picture of being a simple doorkeeper in God's house, Brad unpacks the tension between success and surrender, platform and presence. Along the way, he reflects on a youth camp moment that changed how he understood the verse and connects it to a surprising quote from Jim Carrey about fame and emptiness. This episode pushes listeners to stop measuring life only by results and instead become people who pursue closeness with God above everything else. The message lands with a practical challenge to practice God's presence in ordinary, unnoticed moments and to stop trying to escape seasons God may actually be using to deepen them.

May 3, 2026 - Sunday AM Sermon   This episode is a deep-dive sermon on the life of King Hezekiah, unpacking why he stands out among the kings of Israel and Judah. Drawing primarily from 2 Chronicles 29–32, 2 Kings 18–20 and Isaiah 36–39, Hiram traces Hezekiah's reforms, his restoration of temple worship and the Passover, his reliance on prayer during the Assyrian crisis, his miraculous extension of life after terminal illness, and the pride that followed his blessings. Listeners will hear five practical takeaways for making a life count: refuse to be bound by your past, make pleasing God your primary aim, capitalize on the privilege of prayer, use your time wisely, and remain humble in blessing. Each point is illustrated with biblical references, historical events from Hezekiah's reign (including Sennacherib's defeat and the Babylonian envoys), and contemporary examples — from cultural references like Jim Carrey to modern analogies such as landline communication and reflections from Bronnie Ware on end‑of‑life regrets. The sermon also includes application and invitation: how Hezekiah's example challenges listeners to change course regardless of family history, prioritize God over popular approval, pray constantly, steward remaining time well, and guard against pride when blessed. The episode closes with a call to repentance, faith in Christ, and opportunities for prayer and baptism for those who want to respond. Duration 35:02
