From the World of John Wick....this is techically a spin-off which takes place between the events of John Wick Chapter 3 and Chapter 4, the focus here is on Eve who is played by Ana De Armas. Eve is an assassin who was initially trainied as as a ballerina, hence the title! The Director of her "academy" is Angelica Huston who was also featured as a character in Chapter 3. Eve is seeking revenge against a rival organization which murdered her father when she was a young child - that organization is lead by The Chancellor played by Gabriel Byrne. And off she goes from New York City throughout Northern Europe on an increasingly violent adventure where she is tasked with defeating rival assassins through a variety of methods including her fists, grenades, flame throwers, knives, and dishes. ;) Along the way, she also encounters the "Baba Yaga" himself, John Wick once again played by Keanu Reeves. Ken Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Underworld) directs with a supporting cast also including Ian McShane, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and in sadly his final on-screen appearance, the late great Lance Reddick. Grab your tastiest sandwich and try not to spoil Twin Peaks as we return to Deep Space 9 with an all-DS9 extravaganza. We're talking about the opening three-parter of season two of Deep Space Nine which, unlike the Augment three-parter of Enterprise we covered (Episode Title- We Have Wrath of Khan at Home), we're discussing and placing on the Big List as one single entry and not three seperate ones. Watch as in ‘The Homecoming,' Kira goes off to rescue Bajor's greatest resistance fighter and gets no end of grief for it, then we see that Odo has an actual friend while Kira has one of those awkward naked dreams while uncovering Bajoran nationalists in ‘The Circle' and then the simmering Bajoran nonsence ends up in some Die Hard antics on the Station as our heroes must endure ‘The Siege' where this should hopefully wrap up. No Vedek Winn's were harmed during the making of these episodes for which we are deeply sorry.EPISODES DISCUSSED: ‘The Homecoming' (11:25), ‘The Circle' (35:11) and ‘The Siege' (56:11)This used to be a TNG episode, Bajoran nonsense, Twin Peaks references (some spoilers removed) the DS9 novel mentioned last episode, Odo pranking Quark, Miles prefers Sisko with no beard, the Return of Grappler Zorn and a digression into G.I.Joe, Frank Langella aka Skeletor, Sisko's better at the ‘We're with Starfleet, we don't lie' than Wesley, Odo has a friend-an actual friend (cue references to ‘The Inbetweeners', Vedek Winn would unapologetically tweet ‘Thoughts and Prayers', The Prime Directive is poorly written legislation, we do a Die-Hard, Bashir would have a pith helmet, Deep Space Nine still working out what it can do and it feels that the Bajor stuff falls by the wayside with much larger threats, Krim wants to be Sisko's big rival, this is all too neat in resolution.
We return this week with finally recording Die Hard with a Vengeance for it's 30th anniversary.
Ever wonder what could've been if the right actor had just taken that iconic role? Well, today's episode of Pop Culture Pastor dives into those “almost” casting decisions that could have totally changed Hollywood history. From Matthew McConaughey almost playing Jack Dawson in Titanic (imagine "Alright, alright, alright", but on a sinking ship) to someone you wouldn't believe possibly stepping into John McClane's shoes in Die Hard, we're exploring the actors who almost became legends. Plus, we've got some wild behind-the-scenes stories about why Val Kilmer didn't get that Dune role.Oh, and don't miss our discussion on Taylor Swift's power move in acquiring her music masters—who needs a record label when you have that much fan support? Also, we answer listener questions in The Lobby!Join us for a fun-filled hour of near-misses, “what ifs,” and, of course, one-liners.
P.J. grabs the mic once again—this time with self-proclaimed deer slayer, and professional turkey gobbler, AK Warren riding shotgun! What follows is a chaotic, caffeine-fueled ADHD trip down nostalgia lane as P.J. introduces AK to movies literally everyone but her has seen. Also, fair warning: there's an uncomfortable amount of turkey talk. Like... too much. Great Law. Less Legal. Law Done Lite!
Med Lea Myren (Nudes, Hvite gutter), Thea Sofie Loch Næss (The Last Kingdom, One Night in Oslo), Ane Dahl Torp (The Wave, Charter) og Flo Fagerli (debutfilm) i hovedrollerne, udfordrer filmen traditionelle skønhedsidealer og eventyrkonventioner. Dernæst rettes opmærksomheden mod From the World of John Wick: Ballerina (2025), en spin-off i John Wick-universet instrueret af Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard).

It's Die Hard in Las Vegas! This week on DIE HARD ON A BLANK, we strap on our snakeskin boots and bullet belts for a dive into 3000 MILES TO GRACELAND - the loud, chaotic, Elvis-themed heist movie that somehow manages to sneak in a surprising amount of DIE HARD DNA!Two career criminals, Michael Zane (Kurt Russell), and Thomas Murphy (Kevin Costner) team up to pull a casino robbery in Las Vegas during an Elvis convention. However, the botched heist results in a high body count and in the aftermath, the psychotic, self-serving Murphy betrays Michael and the rest of the crew, sparking an expansive feud between the two men, who each try to reclaim their ill-gotten gains from the other, leaving an escalating trail of carnage in their wake.We explore how this underrated oddity isn't merely a post-Tarantino shoot-'em-up, but a film obsessed with American archetypes - outlaws, lawmen, lone wolves, and false idols. We also dig into the maximalist performances from Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner, the mythic cowboy framing, and how the film situates itself in the lineage of Western icons reimagined for the modern age. Is it Die Hard in a jumpsuit? The legend of 1995's Waterworld suggests that it was a huge flop and a criticial disaster. The truth? It was neither. But it was one of the toughest Hollywood productions of the 1990s, and its story continued even after the arduous shoot was complete. In this episode, Simon goes through the origins of the film as a low budget idea, right through to the emergence of a longer, alternate cut to the film: The Ulysses Cut. The second half of this episode is given over to Len Wiseman, who talks to Ryan Lambie about Ballerina, a lost moment in an OAP's home, Die Hard, getting fired from ILM, and working with Roland Emmerich. Idea: To sell de-shelled (but not beaten) eggs in a small plastic or glass bottle (like a Sunny D or Snapple bottle) so people don't have to worry about accidentally cracking the shell while making eggs. Welcome to another episode of Death Don't Do Fiction, the AIPT Movies podcast! The podcast about the enduring legacy of our favorite movies! It's May, which means it's time for the AIPT Movies podcast's “Mayhem” series! Where we cover movies that kick ass in the literal sense! In this week's episode, Alex, Tim, and guest Tony Sedani discuss the messy-yet-beautiful 1991 Bruce Willis action romp, The Last Boy Scout!Sleazy 90's vibes! A mile a minute pace! Satan Claus! Goons in sunglasses! $650 pants! An iconic celebratory jig! Football that's somehow even more dangerous than usual! A stadium with a secret hangout and fireplace! A surprisingly loud, public, and messy "professional" assassination! A guy with the name Joe Hallenbeck who has actually seemingly gone to hell and back! Behind the scenes friction that inspired a character in True Romance! A great musical score from Lethal Weapon & Die Hard's Michael Kamen! A cast that includes a young Halle Berry, Damon Wayans, Danielle Harris, Taylor Negron, and Bruce McGill! A shot of excessive violence and entertainment that's effectively a who's who of 90s action cinema with Tony Scott's visually stunning direction, Joel Silver producing, Shane Black writing endless one liners, and Bruce Willis delivering one of the greatest cigarette-smoking performances of all time!In addition, Tony discusses his Mission: Impossible series rewatch in preparation for “The Final Reckoning,” while Alex shares some spoiler-free thoughts on Fight or Flight, the third movie in the French Netflix action series, Last Bullet, and Final Destination Bloodlines! You can find Death Don't Do Fiction on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Tom Cruise is back -- for the 8th time -- as Ethan Hunt as the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise comes to a close (??) in THE FINAL RECKONING. In an attempt to connect the entire franchise in one epic climax, this direct sequel to 2023's DEAD RECKONING, features loads of fan service for the die-hard M:I fan... but, unfortunately, will leave average movie fans feeling completely lost and confused. Let's talk about it!
"Yippee-ki-yay, mother**ker!" It's been 30 years since John McClane rolled out of bed (with a hangover) and straight into a city-wide terrorist scavenger hunt in 'Die Hard with a Vengeance.' In this anniversary episode, we dive headfirst into the explosive third installment, which marked John McTiernan's glorious return to the franchise, and unpack the high-octane action, the unbeatable chemistry between Bruce Willis & Samuel L. Jackson, and how it redefined the buddy-cop action formula. Complete with riddles, Germans, Samuel L. Jackson yelling, Bruce Willis shooting, bombs, blood, and explosions, we'll get to the bottom as to why this sequel still hits hard three decades later.Send us a textThank you for listening! It's Die Hard on an ice cream truck!I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! This week on DIE HARD ON A BLANK, we're trying to keep our collective cool as we discuss the 1999 buddy-comedy/action-misfire CHILL FACTOR! Joining us on our adventure is none other than special guest Matthew Strohl, a professor at the University of Montana and author of the books Hard to Watch and Why It's Ok To Love Bad Movies! When an experimental military chemical weapon nicknamed "Elvis" accidentally falls into civilian hands, a hapless ice cream truck driver (Cuba Gooding Jr.) and down-on-his-luck diner cook (Skeet Ulrich) team up to keep it away from the ruthless mercenaries who are trying to steal it. The catch is that if "Elvis" heats above 50 degrees, it will detonate with catastrophic consequences – forcing the unlikely duo to outrun the bad guys and keep the temperature under that threshold, all while attempting to safely deliver the precarious device to a military facility! We start by analyzing the film's DNA, which includes genetic links to a myriad of movies including DIE HARD, SPEED, THE ROCK, THELMA & LOUISE, and most surprisingly, A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT. Backed by Matt's spirited defense case, we try to give this much maligned (and largely forgotten) motion picture its day in court, applying the thesis espoused in his excellent books to the film. Against the odds, this approach leads to a passionate (and unexpectedly deep) discussion about how we choose to engage with art…as CHILL FACTOR becomes a living example of “why it's okay to love to bad movies”! But the fun doesn't stop there...because as always we wrap things up with the DIE HARD OSCARS and the DOUBLE JEOPARDY trivia quiz!CHILL FACTOR trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYNiikB4wvIAt the time of release, CHILL FACTOR is available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV/iTunes, YouTube, Fandango and all the usual platforms, as well as on physical media. Let's face it: even the most die-hard Star Wars fans absolutely HATED episodes I and II (and probably also hated every Die Hard after the second or third one). But no matter what, we just HAD to see it through and get some closure, at last witnessing the origin of Darth Vader. Hearing that iconic voice for the "first" time. The movie turned out to be pretty satisfying, as if Vader himself threatened George Lucas with a good old "You've failed me for the last time!” Sadly, Vader's few lines in this film are far from menacing...and you'll get to hear them along with a whole lot of much better dialogue from me and a very special guest: my cousin and fellow Star Wars veteran since the very start, Chris Nicosia! For once, I have a good feeling about this!

It wasn't long ago when summer was a time for nonstop action, everything from "Speed" to "Die Hard." There are still plenty of action movies like the next "Mission: Impossible" film along with a new installment in the "Jurassic Park" franchise, but many of the annual entries are tied to comic books and other longstanding franchises. What about new entries into the field? In this episode we talk with Katee Sackhoff, who stars in the new action movie "Fight or Flight," as well as the film's director James Madigan. Sackhoff is no stranger to the action genre, having been involved with several "Star Wars" programs from Disney+. And with action movies, come big stunts. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recently announced that a new Oscar category will be introduced for the 100th Academy Awards: Achievement in Stunt Design. We talk about what that means and whether mainstream actors like Tom Cruise could find a new pathway to an Oscar. About the show Streamed & Screened is a podcast about movies and TV hosted by Bruce Miller, a longtime entertainment reporter who is now the editor of the Sioux City Journal in Iowa and Terry Lipshetz, a senior producer for Lee Enterprises based in Madison, Wisconsin. Finding Focus and Freedom with Steven Puri WHR 3.223: From Hollywood to Home Office – How Steven Puri Built a Happiness-Driven Company Episode Summary: In this episode of the Work at Home Rockstar Podcast, Tim chats with Steven Puri, Founder and CEO of The Sukha Company. Steven shares his journey from producing Hollywood blockbusters like Independence Day and Star Trek to building a tech company that helps remote workers reclaim their time and joy.
