They're a very smart couple of guys with excellent business sense, a strong eye for fashion and great ethics backing their brand which is why I wanted to spotlight them here. Enjoy! Ca$tro Guapo is 1/2 of the Toronto duo CMDWN. They've been making waves collaborating with artists such as Chief Keef and Lil Yachty. Brendan Potts is the tour manager of Castro and many others. We had a great conversation about music, mental health and much more. It was an absolute blast doing the interview and I just wanna shout out Miguel Ambrosia for making this happen. Eternally thankful
Deus is an audio engineer and friend whose been working with me on the podcast since Episode 50. We did the interview in his brand new studio "The Vault Recording Studio". We spoke about his journey getting into how he got into the world of music and what his role of audio engineer is. Okanagan Lifestyle is a brand owned by Jaclyn and Ryan Robertson. It was created as a way to connect their community and establish a celebration for the young and old in the beautiful Okanagan. Its was obvious to me from their immense popularity and philanthropy that they express a deep gratitude for what the Okanagan has provided to them. Jaclyn was very kind, smart and a delight to speak with. We spoke about how she connected to the region, her journey as a mother and much more. If you’re looking for good energy listen to this interview. Bede is the owner of Designed by Bede. A fashion brand inspired by her love of the past with modern touches of street wear and ethical production. I love supporting underground brands like these. I feel like I can express myself better with unique pieces that I don’t think many other people have. I also prefer to not support fast fashion as best I can. Lastly it feels good to know the clothing was made by one person putting in their skill and time to make a piece. It’s like wearing art. Bede is no exception. She makes high quality one of one apparel meaning you’ll be able to express yourself however you’d like. She’s smart and has great ethics behind her work. I hope you enjoy the episode and please check out her page. I’ve been asking Edge to be on the show since 2018 and he always said not until 2020. We finally got it to happen and I’m so excited to share our interview. I’ve seen him perform countless times and honestly I’ve always loved his sets. Edge had explosiveness which was very contagious and with his charisma commanded the room. In today’s episode he and I talk about how he met Nate Le, his influences and much more. This was a blast and I’m thrilled to have had him on the show. ENERGY GANG
“If you didn’t want anything then why’d you even start.” Zoe Marie Welch wrote this in her song Turn on the Lights. It’s a light and bubbly soul/R&B track about her experience with a past lover. It’s an honest reflection of her experience which many people I’m sure could relate to. Her music reflects her personality and believe me it was a delight to interview her. We spoke about her upbringing, her experiences with love and much more! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did ✌️
If you’re a photographer/videographer/model/etc in the Kelowna area you know who fowfow4 is. You’ve seen his work and if you haven’t then you clearly haven’t been involved enough. He founded the vastly popular Camera’s and Coffee which is a local meet up where gearheads, enthusiast and professional photographers of all types meet up. I’ve been wanting to interview Mitchell for a hot minute and I’m happy to finally sit down for an hour and chat. We talk about his beginnings, why he created C&C and how he keeps the spirit alive during the times of social isolation. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. 538st. is a DOPE, young, up and coming hip-hop group from Kelowna, BC who are very different from what you'd typically think of as a hip-hop group. They're not a group of rappers, it's a full band with a frontman who raps. If you've ever seen them live or caught one of their live videos you'd know how vibrant and charismatic they are. I had a chance to speak to Waseem (drums), Austen (bass/vocals), and brothers Sam (lead vocals) & Jake (guitar/vocals). They were an absolute delight to have on the show and I hope you enjoy it! This is the second part of a two part episode with the Flip Club. Talon broke down his own walls and learned how to finally be himself. Cody has just been fired from his job and left his life-long connection to mormonism. They were both at a critical point in time and this episode chronicles the creation of the Flip Club. Enjoy! The Flip Club is a parkour/trampoline gym created by Cody McAllister (left) & Talon Keener (right) as a safe space for kids and adults of all skill levels to build confidence and grow their self esteem. The Flip Club is a parkour/trampoline gym created by Cody McAllister (left) & Talon Keener (right) as a safe space for kids and adults of all skill levels to build confidence and grow their self esteem. In this episode, we talk about how they went from being under-appreciated after creating one of the most successful businesses in their old gym and eventually quitting/being fired. This forced Talon on a journey of self discovery after moving to a completely different career path which allowed him and Cody to eventually create Flip Club. Hi! Let me introduce myself. My name is Deepak and I run For the Culture Canada. I wanted to address why I took a break from the show, why it exists and where it's going. This is a short and sweet episode and I hope you enjoy it! Thank you Don't forget to follow us to know when the newest episodes release YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOMopqC1CF95kuJLLiMhXDw?sub_confirmation=1 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fortheculturecanada/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FortheCultureCanada/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/4theCultureCA
“I always say the first part is knowing who you are and if you don’t know who you are you gotta figure who you are.” Kevin Kishor is a brand/talent developer, relationship coach and author. I sat down with him to discuss his latest book titled “Chocolate Covered French Fries” which is a practical guide for all types of relationships. We also had an open discussion on his past, the current cultural climate, and much more. This was by far one of the most fun and dynamic podcasts I have done in a long time. I hope you enjoy this special 2 hour feature!
“I don’t care what you think. You’re 13-14 you’re not doing anything. Look at me and look at you. What are you doing playing video games and doing nothing? I’m actually doing shit and that’s straight for the haters. I’m 14 making it. By the time I’m in grade 10 I know I’m gonna be rich as fuck” Young Ivany is a 14 year old rapper based out of North Vancouver. He caught my eye every time he performed because I remember how awful and cringy 14 year olds were when I was his age. But he was fantastic! Totally capable of rocking an entire show no problem. This kid has some legit talent. I chose this quote because it reminds me of when I was young. People were dicks and they were always hating on shit that was different. Ivany is doing something different and his youthful aspirations to be rich in grade 10 came across as wonderfully endearing. He’s a very likeable person and it was a total blast to finally sit down with him. We were joined by @kasaievents founder @miguel.ambrosia and his friend @ethan. We spoke about Ivany’s upbringing, his favourite ice cream and much more! Enjoy
“There’s so many new words & so many definitions and so many new ways on how you can write. It’s so complex, intellectual and it’s amazing. Wow how could we in mankind come up with all these crazy ass words? You know how big the Oxford Dictionary is? That shit SLAPS.” Obviously GasPakkTyler is a character. He was explaining his love for the english language here. He is a hip-hop artist striving to be an English teacher. We spoke to him about his upbringing in being the only black person in a predominantly white town, how his English teacher changed his life and much more. This was very fun interview and we joined by Indigo & Keilan. Enjoy!
“They (films) went deeper than just entertainment for most people. They would impact politics and all of this kind of stuff. Going back to my childhood would be just immersing myself into a different universe.” Drake Richardson is a young filmmaker who (at the time of the interview) maintained a low profile but managed to work with bbno$ and made the music video ’tony thot’ which garnered over 1.4 million views. In the interview we talk about a documentary he is making on the Kelowna music scene, his social media strategy and his desire to pursue fashion. Enjoy!
“We’re (Kasai) not doing it because we want clout. None of us give a fuck about that. We really just love making music. I don’t fuck with someone if I can’t enjoy my studio time with them.” Crim is a rapper and one of the founders of the large artist collective Kasai. He is from East Van and in this spontaneous episode we spoke about his familial musical history, his plans to buy an island for Kasai, his love of indian food and much more. He is an incredibly driven individual willing to sacrifice everything for his craft and it was an absolute pleasure speaking to him. I was exhausted but I’m happy to have done this interview. Enjoy!
“I’m making this music through my experience but everyone kinda goes through the same shit. So I just want people to know they’re not alone in their battles. Someone else is there feeling the same thing. You can have that sense of not being alone because being alone sucks.” NEXT$IDE is (at the time of interview) a Kelowna based artist, show promoter, Kasai Collective member and overall hard worker. We spoke about his at the time recent break-up, what it means to “make it”, and how he and Dead Rose created the music studio in their high school which is used by students now to this day. We were joined by Crim, Raiderboy, and Dead Rose for this interview. Enjoy!
“I want my music to connect with people. I want people to relate to the things I am talking about and that’s the whole goal. I know when a lot of people get into the rap game they’re just like I’m gonna get all this money and these bitches but that doesn’t matter at the end of the day. What matters is do people connect to what you’re saying?” Grizzy Wynter is a Vancouver based rapper who raps about the black experience, and his hard ships growing up in East Van which included violence and selling drugs. He spoke to me over Skype about his past, his music and his experience as a client of Growth X Media. Enjoy!
“We’re developing brands from scratch organically & we’re not using fake followers, we’re not using fake likers, we’re actually marketing your content.” Mayank Badhan is the founder of Growth X Media. It’s a brand development company specializing in Instagram and YouTube growth with their proprietary technology. This is not a sponsored episode but you will find the information provided to be very helpful if you’re trying to grow your brand. Enjoy!
“I just didn’t have that competitive drive in the sports world. I still wanted to be with everyone in it so I was like I’ll take the videos and photos. From there it just kept going up.” Jackson Parker is videographer who films action-sports under @clear.glass.media. His work as been featured in high profile IG accounts such as @pinkbike and @newschoolers. We talked about his upbringing, his path into film-making and much more! Enjoy INSTAGRAM @FortheCultureCanada @clear.glass.media
“I used to do a lot of public speaking when I was younger, I used to be in leadership, I used to do acting too and performing has always been something for me that’s been so good. Music has always come easy to me but I never had the confidence in myself to believe that.” Dylan Steciuk otherwise known as SwayzeAck is a rapper based out of Vancouver. His roots lie in his biological dad being a musician and in his aptitude to entertain and perform. He dropped his self-titled debut in 2018 and has had a very busy year doing interviews and shows. This is is most comprehensive interview so far and we talked about a HUGE variety things ranging from his influences, Joey’s Restaurants, Twitter and so much more! THIS is the interview you wanna hear if you wanna know who SwayzeAck is. Enjoy!
“Growing up whenever my friends had problems they’d always come talk to me, ask me for advice and I’d always try to help my friends and make sure everyone was good. But then whenever I had problems no one was there to listen to me. I never had anyone to talk to about my problems. So that’s where music comes in. I can express myself and kinda get things off my chest through music.” Dan Sadowick aka DOWNTOWNDAN is a Edmonton based producer who I’ve actually grown up with for over a decade. I LOVE his music. It's atmospheric, sometimes moody and great to vibe with driving down a rainy highway at night. He’s probably one of my favourite artists that I know personally. He’s really cool and we talked about things like how music keeps him out of trouble, how a random circumstance got him flagged for a year by the Gang-Squad Police, & his relationship with Nate Le. Enjoy!
“My whole thing was like I just wanna grow my neighbourhood, grow BC, grow Kelowna. Me just like creating this platform for all these kids to express themselves get their music out, look good for social media, and that’s good for them. Because some kids maybe only get to play like one show a year or two shows a year but a guy like me is lucky. I get to play multiple shows a year so if one show I don’t get to play but everybody had a great time and I had a great time and it was great then I got more shows in the new year its all good. You’re gonna see me again.” Heatwave is a rapper based out of Vancouver and CEO of Heatwave Multimedia. He’s travelled all across the world with artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Chris Brown, and Ice Cube just to name a few. With the success and notoriety he’s built over the years he’s created Heatwave Multimedia to allow new artists to flourish by providing a recording studio for everyone, avenues for touring and social media promotion. He ended up bringing a bunch of people to perform with him like Young Ivany and Nes Gone Global to the Black Box Theatre on December 22nd and it went on for so long that we ended up going to Denny’s for this interview which lasted till 2:30am. Anything to get it done you know? Anyway I hope you enjoy it!
“All of my family do music. I got two sides (of grandparents) on my mom’s side and they both do music. She (grandma Rhonda) do remakes of old rock and I wanna get my grandpa on a track and play guitar, not even lying. On the other side of my grandparents, they’ve been doing gigs as well as just their regular jobs. They’ve always been doing music.” Indigo is a budding rapper with a rich familial history in music ranging from singers, to guitar players to piano players. He began his musical journey with the alto sax in school and moved onto rap music to create moody, atmospheric hip-hop that’ll certainly set you in a sentimental mood. On the day we did our interview he dropped his debut album BLU. which we discussed after I got my advanced copy. We were joined by our friends Next Side & Tyler the Activist and we all had a blast talking about influences, the writing process and much more. If you love hip-hop you’ll love this interview. Enjoy!
“The idea of the wolf is… they always have a leader in a pack, but you always have a pack, they’re very loyal, they’re migratory and they’re always on the move so very proactive. We want this logo, this wolf and this company to be moving onward and upward and getting what we’re going for.” Amarok Media Co. is a trio of multi-talented friends hailing from Nova Scotia who produce films, and photography in commercial, lifestyle, real estate, entertainment, and other fields of work. Amarok Media has already produced work for local companies like Supplement King and Predator Ridge and show no signs of slowing down. Their wonderfully friendly (obvs they’re from Nova Scotia) demeanour made this interview a total blast and I’m certain you’re gonna just love it just as much as we did! Enjoy
“I tried painting, I’ve tried knitting and it was just really boring. With embroidery you can unstitch it so it’s just very relaxing, being able to control it creatively, it’s a mixture of drawing and fibre art and it just clicked.” Quinn Bray is a local embroidery artist who meticulously creates stunning pieces of art which vary from pleasantly simple (like a paper airplane) to pieces that capture the fun care-free spirit of youth (like a topless roller-blading girl with an afro made of flowers) and more. She displays her art on instagram and sells her work on Etsy on top of already working two jobs and being a college student. It was a pleasure interviewing her and I’m sure you’ll love our conversation! Enjoy
“There’s so much cool stuff that you get to be involved with by being a crew member on movies like that like we flip cars, explode em and there’s dudes jumping off mountains in snowmobiles in that film. Just wild stuff.” Jordan Powers is an aspiring Film Director humbly earning his ranks on film crews in the Okanagan. His impressive resume includes working on multi million dollar projects with stars such as Wesley Snipes, Nicholas Cage and John Cusack. He’s an introspective, soft spoken individual with an understated magnetism and I can bet that you’ll be captivated by his stories. Enjoy!
"Every single person listening to this podcast, you should go to India at least once in your life. You know it's just such a life changing experience! It completely changed my life." In this episode Deepak talks to his long time friend Jesse Nelson about his wild 19 day trip to India where he danced with a room full of cross dressing men, rescued kittens, and almost copped fake Gucci shoes. It was his fourth time going back to India and probably one of the most eventful trips he's ever had. Enjoy!
“Kelowna had a lot of energy, it was crazy, the support was real, moved a lot of CDs and rage bro it was fun as hell.” iLL Chris is a very hard hitting rapper with a distinctive bite to his vocal delivery and choice of beats. He headlined a show at the Black Box Theatre in Kelowna, BC on October 29th, 2018 and I managed to capture an interview with him after the show. I’m incredibly thankful and appreciate of his time and energy for doing this interview. He spoke about his OG days of killing the battle rap scene around 2004 - 2005, meeting Ski Mask the Slump God, XXXTENTACION and sharing never heard before stories about the high energy and tumultuous relationship he had with X. Enjoy!
“Once people enjoy you for you rather than just the content you make you can do whatever you want. People are coming for us rather than the content to see what we’re doing. Now we do that to relate to the weird ideas we have because not all of our ideas are analysis videos.” TMS Productions is a trio of film makers comprised of longtime friends Tommy Dewitt, Mitchell Kucher and Stephen Kucher. What I really love about their films isn’t just their amazing cinematography, beautiful colours, or attention to detail but the way they’re able to cleverly weave a story through film that is smart, funny and engaging. Their charming and youthful personalities allow them to tie together topics as varied as building a knife from a shipwreck or how to make a Sam Kolder video on a budget. This interview was a blast and I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did!
“I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, push myself and learn about something that I am interested in and do a good job of.” What Jeff says here doesn’t just ring true for his run at becoming a part of Kelowna’s City Council. It also attributes to the challenge of being a well known and established musician in the Okanagan Valley. In this very honest and candid interview Jeff provided a very generous hour of his time to talk about his life, his struggle as an outcast, his triumphs as a musician and embarking on his latest and most ambitious project yet of becoming a part of Kelowna’s City Council. Enjoy!
“I remember I was in class and I wrote on a napkin a full song and I met him out back and spat it to him. It was crazy man.” - Kenny “I used to call him Einstein all the time back in grade 8. I was in art class and there was a picture of Einstein, I just gave it to Kenne and I’m like you’re Einstein.” - Cheen Obviously these guys are hilarious together. Kenne is a producer/rapper with a heartbroken/emo style to his sound and a HUGE catalogue of music. Cheen is a singer/producer who is just starting to curate his catalogue. We discuss the history of their origins, heartbreak, and what music ultimately means for them as an emotional outlet and career path.
“Everyone who has supported us since day one they come to all our shows, they’re always there and that really made our EP really special for us.” I had the pleasure of interviewing the band Where We Wander which comprised of Jesse Jacobson (you may remember him from episode 4 of the podcast), Nicholas Waterman, Biz Antonishka, & Kodi Lee. These guys came from backgrounds of EDM, metal, and all sorts of different variety of music to create a very tightly knit little unit. They were a total blast to interview with topics ranging from their history, to amazing fan encounters and more! I’m sure you’ll share a laugh with us in this episode. Enjoy!
“I love country music because it’s about storytelling. It’s about real life, people, how you go through things and it’s about super small towns and that simple kind of life. It’s what I group up doing. That’s what I love.” I was first introduced to Melissa Livingstone’s music through asking my own personal facebook feed about local female musicians I should look out for and the outpouring support for Melissa was just HUGE! Honestly I was astounded by how many of my own friends were excited to get her name out there. I knew I had to get her for an interview. Once I met her I found her to be an incredibly pleasant person to speak to and I just had an absolute blast! The same bubbly and fun personality she carried in her music absolutely came across when she spoke to me. She’s got a very bright future ahead of her and I gotta say even if you’re not a country music fan you’ll love this interview. Enjoy!
“I don’t wanna just put stuff out to put stuff out. I wanna be proud of it. That’s what’s important to me. Staying authentic. People are always gonna gravitate to what they feel are authentic and genuine.” Tommy Newgin founded and now runs a very clean streetwear fashion company called Bynoma. It’s predicated on being greater than the average and forming a platform for influencers and creators. You can really tell that Tommy puts his all into his brand. He truly believes in bringing out the best in himself to the best in his products and honestly I have to say there’s a lot to admire in that. It was a great interview and honestly I had a blast getting to know the guy. Enjoy!
“Dead Rose. I like the symbolism of that just because getting too close to the flower it’ll cut you. If you don’t let anybody get close to you to water the flower then it dies. It shows the struggle that I have in my life of not letting people get close to me and it shows in my music.” What I really liked about what De said here is it totally fits with the puzzle of him and his music. De Roos is a rapper with a sort of sadder/broken edge to his music which stems from real events in his upbringing. It was a total blast to have this guy on the show and I couldn’t be more excited to share his story. Plus he freestyled at the end of the episode which is a first for us! Enjoy!
“I took band in middle school and I was signed up to play the trumpet because my dad had an old trumpet. There was an open spot for bass guitar and I was like “that sounds a lot cooler” so why don’t I switch to that? Well my parents would kill me because they’d have to buy me another guitar. And teacher’s like does anyone wanna take bass guitar? I’m just like “yeah fuck it” I put up my hand and that’s when I started my bass journey. That’s really when I started actually getting into music.” I love how this small moment of off-the-cuff decision making turned into a life changing moment for the young Cody Reuger. I know and I’m sure most our friend group knows that we really understood the bass guitar as apart of his identity. The story from this point onward unravelled nicely as he explained how he developed into playing with bands, developing as a solo-artist and even having his music featured in a video game! Enjoy!
“The reason why I do one of one is because you are one of one. I really like doing custom stuff because people can come to me and choose what they like. Once that comes to life they have that personal connection to the clothing then they’re on the next planet. They’re really feeling themselves. It’s not coming from some random factory in China, I did it with my hands for you.” Julian runs a clothing company called JB Gear. He’s had rap heavyweights like Ski Mask the Slump God rock his pants and smokepurpp rock a custom hoodie. Clearly his work is getting noticed. I am honoured to have featured this man on my show and I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I did.
“I bet my friend that I could become sponsored skateboarding within a year and I couldn’t ollie at the time. I started practicing in my backyard and nine months later I picked up my first sponsor.” Now Nate is a rapper, not a skateboarder anymore but the reason why I chose this quote for him is because he had SO MANY insane stories just like this one told in this interview. Nate is truly a genuine guy (no so much Chad which is Nate’s alter ego which he talks about in the episode) with a very real drive to be good at what he does. His past is deep and complex and he constantly fuels his music with his rich life experience. I’m incredibly grateful to have had him share his stories on my show and I’m absolutely certain you’ll be just as immersed as I was.
“Words that are punctuated with so much power that enable you or pose with a kind of vibe that you’re feeling. Be it faith, unapologetic, focused or whatever it is, it is a stand-alone word that’s only on a black shirt just to create emphasis.” Deidrean here is talking about the statement she’s trying to make with her ‘Blackout Collection’. The thing is what she’s saying here isn’t just reflective of her apparel but her entire image. You can see this in the content of her instagram page and even in the handle. You’ll know what I mean when you listen to the episode ;) She’s got a very strong presence and I hope you enjoy the interview!
“I think we write of experiences. Especially for me, if I’m not emotionally in tune with it then it’s not possible and the best way for me to get emotionally in tune with it is by experiencing it myself. So yeah it definitely is cathartic.” What I love about Post-Modern Connection is they’re a band members come from all over the world (Nigeria, Lebanon, Taiwan and Winfield) and they’ve totally managed to become one of the most prominent and promising indie bands to come from Kelowna after only starting in 2017! They make wonderful Indie-Soul Pop music and believe me it’s clear their killer live performances stem from their amazing chemistry. You can absolutely hear it in this interview! I had a lot of fun interviewing Tega and Georges and I bet you’ll love it too. Enjoy!
“That’s what photography is all about you know? Telling an entire story in one frame.” That quote from Alex I think sums up what he tries to do in a very simple way. The beauty of a great artist is they’re able to sum up an entire story, all the words, actions and emotion into a simple digestible way. He does this with the way he composes and colours his photographs and honestly I wish I could just give you an example right here. Luckily you’re getting his instagram handle in the title anyway ;) Take a look at my favourite photo he took which is of Method Man vibrantly spraying a bottle of Champagne live on stage at COG 2018. This man is a fantastic photographer and excellent interviewee. I don’t think I’ve laughed this much in an episode before! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
“The reason I started KayKamz was because people see you, they ask you where you’re from and they already have a general idea without getting to know you or your culture. They only language we can speak is love, dance and people appreciate fashion. It’s a safe space place where you come, you’re being accepted for who you are.” This episode really felt special to me because I saw the struggle my parents had to make as immigrants just like how Kamso did. What he did though to combat the culture shock and homesickness was outstanding. He brought together the ever-growing African/Caribbean in Kelowna to create events everyone was invited to. The different languages did not matter because they all communicated with love, music, and dance to create a sense of community he felt was missing. I loved listening to his story and I’m sure you will too.
“Kelowna saved my song enough times and replayed my songs enough times that Spotify Canada was like “somethings happening here, lets just give it a shot.” I’ve been on Northern Bars for almost three months. Because they took a little notice of me Vancouver knows me a lot more, Toronto noticed me a lot more.” What I love about what Teon said here was he made me realize artists from our city can make it to someplace bigger where their music sits on playlists shared our countries biggest heavy hitters like Drake and Tory Lanez. What Teon is doing is incredible and for real you should keep your eyes and ears set on him. If I know anyone who’s on an upward trajectory from our city it’s him. He was soft spoken and had a lot to say in the longest podcast episode I’ve ever done. I hope you enjoy this very special interview.
“Theres so much talent in Kelowna. I wanna be able to help someone else get to the point where their favourite artist is.” If Matt had a mission statement for what he does this quote would be it. He’s a versatile videographer, photographer, musician etc… who’s interest solely lies in documenting hardcore punk and electronic music. He really believes in the talent in Kelowna and I believe it’s important to have him around. You can tell he had a lot to say in this interview and I’m happy to say it’s available now everywhere!
“It’s why a lot of people do keep full time jobs. it takes the pressure off of doing gigs you don’t wanna do.” By the time my interview with photographer David Vassiliev was over it honestly felt like we were good friends already. It really demonstrated how friendly he was and captivating his story-telling was. INSTAGRAM @FortheCultureCanada @davidvassiliev
A very fun and interesting interview with the personable and level-headed visual artist Jaide Bateman. INSTAGRAM @FortheCultureCanada @jaidefoxpaintings
“I’m a big believer in you turn one hard turn a million. You just have to make an impact in your community of what you’re doing. I feel like we’re doing that. We get recognized at festivals. We’ve made that impact.” I’m just gonna be blunt here, this interview with Ben was amazing! From Sam Roberts DMing him about a remix Ben made for one of his songs, to being recognized at festivals I just had a blast. I know I say this in every post but really I felt like this one was even better than the last. You have to hear it! NOW AVAILABLE ON SPOTIFY, APPLE PODCASTS, AND ALL OTHER MAJOR STREAMING PLATFORMS! “We’re really trying to push this culture. Our entire thing is to build this culture. I think there is the climate (for house music) to pop off. We’ve done a lot of shows and people honestly are surprised at how much they enjoy themselves.” One major thing I learned about Broken Future in this interview is they know they’re sitting on top of something major right now. Almost like an untapped gold mine just waiting to be harvested. These guys have a clear vision of promoting their own culture and being in the forefront of the house music scene. They’re about to drop their first album, a 1+ hour house music epic designed to be shared amongst other DJs in their budding community. It doesn’t hurt that this was one the best interviews I’ve had yet! Very personable and great speakers. Enjoy! INSTAGRAM @FortheCultureCanada @BrokenFutureOfficial
