Podcast by Joseph Carlson
The characters decide to go to The Threshold of Heaven. After making some stealth checks they make it inside. The guards seem to ignore them and the PC's are able to get in the second floor.
The players successfully sneak their way through The City of Lost Names. And there they finally find Duskwalker and the Temple of Paladine. Good RP stuff.
A little bit of a shorter episode. Jesse and I talk about Martok's death. Then we introduce his new character Kyburn Auretrice. It was actually a good talk he and I don't remember the last time a character died.
After the group takes a long rest, their rocky-talky goes off and Darrett Highwater tells the group that he needs Adrick and Sinaught. The teleport to The Knights of High Sorcery and then the PC's decide to rest and then scout. Outside a Dragon Army Patrol was sweeping the city. Swami attempted to hide from them. Martok rushed a bit and tried to draw their fire.
TTE The Lab Ep. 5-D&D 50 Playtest by Joseph Carlson
TTE Ep. 58-Dragonlace Pt. 49-The Caretaker by Joseph Carlson
Sorry for missing an episode last week but I was out of town and my wife had the flu. So you get this. A One-Shot Feyd and I recorded. I was inspired by the Critical Role O' Ye of Little Faith One-Shot they did.
The group takes a bit of tumble, but they do find some old wine and a Stone Golem, good and bad. O'Grady has a bit of a tuff time with his dice, but after seeing two (Two?!?!)spectral dragons they decided to hold a funeral, just to be safe.
After the group hides a bit they start patrolling the canyon where The Dragon Army waits. They get ahold of Darrett Highwater the commander of the Knights of Solamnia that have been using the PC's as scouts. And, after some sneaking they have a bit of success.
The PC's outrun the black dragon, but there are some setbacks. They travel with the prisoners they let free and Oren, a scout, shows them the canyon entrance where The Dragon Army is staying. Lemons make Lemonade right?
I (in real time)go over my list and games that I reviewed this year.
Mergwen, the mage up on the hill tells the players he's able to get the prisoners to a safe place but that there is a group a soldiers with prisoners coming into the camp. Oh, and the Adult Black Dragon. Which doesn't notice the PC's but notices the demon that Yuriel summoned in the courtyard. Yay...
The Attack continues, and well, maybe doesn't stop. A lot of heavy hitters this time, the group is looking a little ruff.
So let me tell you about a little group decides to infiltrate camp Carrionclay. Just watch to see what happens. Does it work out, well, you be the judge.
A little bit of a shorter session we were missing some people. The most important thing is that Mergwen(with the groups help)released the curse from Wakenwreth. And he knows the where the mythical teleportation gate that Yuriel has been looking for. I explain the rules of the gate, and to let's be honest it may be a bit broken.
Mergwen asks the group to help him heal the temple of Wakenreth with a simple ritual. Unfortunately, a giant beast has been stalking him. O'Grady does great, or not. Everything pretty much turns up Millhouse.
Sometimes you just have to talk about stuff you love. I love Wayfinders, better known as Wayfinder Echoes on PS5. I know, this is a pretty short video, but hopefully you see why I love this game so much.
After killing some stuff(manticores mostly) The group finds Wakenreth. They poke around outside and battle their way through the tower. Saying more would be giving it away at this point.
After the PC's kill the Black Oozes in the temple they exit with Ishvern and her sea-elf scouts tell her that their leader Yerkhal was taken by the Dragon Army to Camp Carrionclay. After camp for the night, the group decides to go to Wakenreth, because it's a straight shot before going to Camp Carrionclay. Then Adrick calls and says he needs help.
After a long rest, the PC's break camp and make their way to the Blue Phoenix Shrine. They meet Ishvern and fight some black puddings. How does this keep happening(this is the first time they've done this).
Sometimes it just gets a little tiring hearing all the negativity out there. Talk about what you love and leave the rest behind.
The Party fights some draconian on a patrol because Martok failed his perception check. There is no other way to say it, although the rest of the group rolled so many nat 20s it was kind of incredible.
The players tussle with the air elementals ends and the group meets Dalamar an exiled elf who is one of many scholars in the area. He trusts the players, and takes them to Exile's End. There they meet Zhelsuel, the leader of the exiles. And well, they have dinner. Don't worry it's fun.
Happy Halloween. All the normal players(Well, Todd, Jesse, and Feyd) join me in playing The Secret World. We used the Pre-gen characters that came with the Kickstarter backer kit. It was awesome. I love this game.
After the group sets off from the docks of Kalaman they brave the high seas and reach the shores of Wrecker's Edge. They find a recently abandoned camp along with some supplies and a destroyed ship. Someone has the misfortune of setting off an alarm.
The Final Prep begins for the journey to the Northern Wastes. The group has to talk to Tatina and then end up fighting her home security system. They also get some new "Rocky Talkies" and meet Darrett Highwater at the docks and they go over his plan for the Wastes. Fun Times.
I was out a town quite a bit this month, so the big review I was going to do will have to wait till next month. I talk to my wife about The Legend of Zelda: Echos of Wisdom and well as Kinfire Delve and Throne and Liberty. Short but sweet this week.
The time to leave the north is coming upon the group. O'Grady finally figures out who is following him and what they want. And the PC's only have a few loose ends to wrap up before they head begin their next big journey.
After you have breakfast and shake off the hangover you have to go to church, and then maybe go to church. They may not be related but you may have to get ready to go up North. And maybe get some questions answered by a god.

After the all the kids in town leave the market, the PC's stay and drink with the locals. They learn more about Mother Matron, the undead merchant they met at the market. They also learn a bit about The Northern Wastes and Lord Soth. Good Times.
So, after you hear about terrible information like maybe you have to spend time in the desert to stop the Dragon Queen, sometimes just sometimes, you have to hang out and have kabobs. You may spend money on magic crystals too. Just saying, some days go like that.
With it in the news and after the debate Avin and I had to talk about it. I think both of us were pretty mad about it.
The group was around for O'Grady to get a background from A Life Well Lived from Cubicle 7. I really love this book. This isn't sponsored, I just want to share the love.
It's time to put to bed my thoughts on Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. A game, I can't stop playing. The team at Don't Nod deserves a lot more credit then I think their getting.
I've been out of town a bit so I bought a book called A Life Well Lived by Cubicle 7 to flesh out some of the backgrounds for the characters. It may be the middle of the module, but the players never really gave me a lot of info on where their characters came from. This isn't a sponsored video, but huge shout out to the Glass Cannon Network for showing this off. So enjoy me giving Swami a background.
My wife and I played the new ttrpg The Secret World based on the video-game by Funcom. The 5e compatible role-playing game was made by Star Anvil Studios. The kickstarted funded and I was a backer, I got all the stuff and I really wanted to play it.
Sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses. For the PC's this means getting armor, and talking to their mentor, as well as trying to track down someone who left a letter asking for help. Also, there were some croissants in there somewhere. So at least some actual rest. Kind of.
Episodes hit on Monday 7am of every week. Sometimes just sometimes you have to check in with your players and make sure that they are actually having a good time. You know, the one reason everyone is doing this is the first place. It was pretty neat to hear feedback though especially from the new players like Christian and Feyd.
Avin and I talk about the third parties that are running for office in the 2024 election. Hopefully, you find of this info enlightening. Maybe you'll go look some of these people up and make up your own mind.
We've moved the episodes to Mondays now. And once a week. After the PC's defeated King Sarlamir, they debriefed with King Bakaris and Trinity of The Knights of Solamnia. Trinity gives everyone two days of R&R for everything they have done.
After PC's check out all of The Raided Catacombs, which also includes Swami checking his corners as it were and the group finds more out about the City of Lost names. The best part of this episode hands down is the debrief at the end of the episode. Check it out.
So, let's say you're exploring some old catacombs below Castle Kalaman. Then out of of nowhere, a phantom ghost memory shows up and tells you the worst parts of a biography about the worst Knight of Solamania, well then you got yourself a session there.
The castle suck too, well until that meet a ghost that can control the party. And well it kind of works out. Yuriel does some strange stuff. And they find a tunnel to the Raided Catacombs blah, blah, Knights something.
The PC's are in a bit of a bind. That try to buy croissants when they get back to Kalaman, but unfortunately, some undead have taken over the town. Wyhan, the black robbed mage hires some Knights of The Sword. Then everyone, and I mean everyone fights at the Castle Courtyard.
I have a friend of mine on to talk about what Final Fantasy has meant to him over the years. As someone who has only recently started playing the series, I ask Tim what games are his personal essentials as well as a good place to start in the series if you are new. Like me.
Well, after the "incident" Wheelwatch Outpost the group decides to go back and lick their wounds a bit, and maybe just maybe take another crack at it. That is until they find out something else is worse back in Kalaman.
So there we were. Sneaking into Wheelwatch Outpost. Fighting happens, and well, sometimes, just sometimes you have to check your exits. A Dragonnel shows up. And things go crazy from there.
After a lot a soul searching and sleeping on it(Twice) I'm now moving the podcast to a monthly release. I talk about it on this episode and talk about the release schedule.
Avin and I talk about the state of the Democrats and Biden as well as Trump, and oh boy, we do a little segment at the end because the news broke about Trump after we got done recording the episode. We got all of our impressions in this video though.
Did that go well? We might have to wait and see. They did get the drop on some of the guards, but some guards actually show up with some more guards. Can I say guards again? Yes.
