The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel, three. 17 Abigail bore Amasa, and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite. 18 Caleb the son of Hezron fathered children by his wife Azubah, and by Jerioth; and these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. 19 When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur. 20 Hur fathered Uri, and Uri fathered Bezalel. 21 Afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was sixty years old, and she bore him Segub. 22 And Segub fathered Jair, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead. 23 But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth-jair, Kenath, and its villages, sixty towns. All these were descendants of Machir, the father of Gilead. 24 After the death of Hezron, Caleb went in to Ephrathah,16 the wife of Hezron his father, and she bore him Ashhur, the father of Tekoa. 25 The sons of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron: Ram, his firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah. 26 Jerahmeel also had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. 27 The sons of Ram, the firstborn of Jerahmeel: Maaz, Jamin, and Eker. 28 The sons of Onam: Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur. 29 The name of Abishur's wife was Abihail, and she bore him Ahban and Molid. 30 The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim; and Seled died childless. 31 The son17 of Appaim: Ishi. The son of Ishi: Sheshan. The son of Sheshan: Ahlai. 32 The sons of Jada, Shammai's brother: Jether and Jonathan; and Jether died childless. 33 The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.” 6 But as it is, Christ2 has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second. 8 For he finds fault with them when he says:3 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,9 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord.10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.11 And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” 13 In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away. Our guest is Chaim Oren, an expert on resilience, wellbeing and high performance, who advises professional sportspeople and leading CEOs on fulfilling their human potential. When it comes to strengthening personal resilience, Chaim quotes Victor E. Frankl, Auschwitz survivor and author of Man's Search for Meaning: “If you have the why you can endure any how”. Frankl, who conceptualised “logotherapy” a therapeutic approach to find personal meaning in life, believed anyone, anywhere could “rise up to any challenge”. “If you develop a life meaning you can overcome any difficulties, dangers and hardships". Chaim is the son of two Holocaust survivors who arrived in British mandate Palestine on the Exodus ship in 1947. His late uncle Dov Shilansky, the 12th speaker of the Knesset, was a close confidant of Menachem Begin. He's famous for saying, "we don't have another choice, we must fight for our life. I won't put up my head in the handing rope again." We develop our conversation into how Israel comes together in times of existential crisis and how the intense unity has followed on from intense political divisions, created by the upheaval to reform the judiciary. Stories of great personal courage have emerged amid Hamas' savagery and brutality on October 7th. Listen now for a story of incredible heroism from an everyday Israeli, Rachel Edri, who kept Hamas fighters at bay for hours and hours and saved her own and her father's lives. Chaim has a wealth of anecdotes and quotes in a rich conversation. I hope you enjoy Chaim Oren's company as much as I did. Jonny Gould's Jewish State is supported by Dangoor Education.

Domestic industry is vital to workers and their communities, technological and economic progress, and national security. Thanks to rapid offshoring in recent decades, America is now seeing both manufacturing output and productivity decline. Public policy that supports domestic investment is the only way to restore American industrial leadership.Read the full issue brief here: Issues 2024: Industrial Policy

The recent Substack post and episode of History Impossible about the significant three root historical causes of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict has largely been well-received. What I didn't expect is that one of the main sources I used for that episode would be willing to speak with me in greater depth about the massively underrated Arab Revolt of 1936-1939. In this episode, we're joined by the scholar, political analyst, and writer Oren Kessler, whose 2023 book Palestine 1936: The Great Revolt and the Roots of the Middle East Conflict should be included as required reading for anyone interested or invested in what has been topping the news since October 7th, 2023.Oren, like myself, is a believer in the notion that the Littlefinger of Palestine, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Hajj Amin al-Husseini, is a figure of massively underrated importance. In this episode, we discuss the Arab Revolt through the eyes of the Mufti and examine just why he and his decisions and his legacy matter in the 21st century, despite him becoming largely forgotten except for his infamous photo op with the Fuhrer of Nazi Germany himself, Adolf Hitler. Oren makes the case that this is giving al-Husseini the short shrift with regards to his impact and we discuss why this should be both self-evident and required for understanding why things have gotten so bad between Israel and Gaza.Thank you and enjoy!History Impossible has been made possible by the following generous supporters on Patreon, Substack, and PayPal. Former Israeli Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren discusses the recent delay of Israel's invasion into Gaza and why the country must act sooner rather than later before the empathy from the world wears off. Oren saying that empathy is already “wearing off and and I hope we take advantage of this moment, because it's not every day you can call up 360,000 [reservist] soldiers. It's not every day that the United States says you have to carry two StrikeForce is not far from our coast. And we might have this moment again, we might have a swarm again. And if we don't take advantage of this moment, I don't know what the country's future is. I mean, how do you have a country that is attacked, that loses 1500 of its citizens and doesn't doesn't eliminate the threat and doesn't act eliminate the threat and it's not enough just to bomb from the sky. Yeah, you got to go in there and actually root them out else they'll be back.”See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
In Love with the Process | Filmmaking | Photography | Lifestyle |
Welcome to another exciting episode of "In Love with the Process." Today, we take a deep dive into the spectacular success of a Hollywood film built on an original intellectual property. This film not only pushed the boundaries of CGI effects but also sought to create an environment that could capture the lightning of inspiration. Returning to the show is the talented co-cinematographer of the epic sci-fi masterpiece, "The Creator," Oren Soffer. In this conversation, Oren shares the remarkable story of how he was brought into this project by his mentor, the renowned Greig Fraser, ACS, ASC, for a venture that was truly groundbreaking in the world of cinematography. We go beyond the technical details that often dominate discussions about filmmaking. Instead, we explore director Gareth Edwards' mission, which was to prioritize finding the most authentic performances. The journey took us to the lush landscapes of Thailand for a grueling 90-day shoot that felt more like an indie film than a blockbuster epic. In a departure from other podcasts, we don't ask Oren about the specific camera equipment used in the film. Instead, we aim to transport our listeners to that once-in-a-lifetime experience. Join us as we delve deep into the sensations, emotions, and experiences of being on the set, and the immense creative process behind crafting a modern-day cinematic masterpiece. Tune in to get an insider's perspective on the magic of "The Creator" and discover how it feels to be part of a project that redefines the boundaries of visual storytelling and filmmaking. --------------------------------- Go to inlovewiththeprocess.com to see trailers and clips! ►The Creator: https://www.20thcenturystudios.com/movies/the-creator ►Oren's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/orensofferdp/ ►Mike Pecci's IG: instagram.com/mikepecci ►ILWP's IG: instagram.com/inlovewiththeprocesspod -------------> Featuring Music from: ►Mitch Murder ►Code Elektro The Episode is Sponsored by ► bokehrentals.com/ ► Puget Systems: https://puget.systems/go/ILWTP ► Fotodiox: fotodioxpro.com/ ► FujiFilm: fujifilm-x.com/ ► FujiFilm Shop: bit.ly/3Q2zTHw ► FujiFilm Refurb: bit.ly/3I9NLh4 ► FujiFilmX-H2S: bit.ly/3i22hN5 ► Black Magic: www.blackmagicdesign.com/

In this episode, Hugh Hewitt turns to Dr. Michael Oren, former Israeli ambassador to the United States, to discuss the ongoing conflict in Israel. He highlighted the emotional trauma and the impact of the conflict on Israeli society, including the shock of discovering the increasing number of hostages. Dr. Oren also discussed the potential threat posed by Hezbollah and the need to address it, along with the evolving international narrative around the conflict.
Townhall Review – October 14, 2023 Hugh Hewitt and Congressman Mike Gallagher highlight the role of Iran supporting Hamas and urges the United States to abandon efforts to revive the Iran nuclear deal. He suggests practical steps such as freezing funds and enforcing sanctions. Victor Davis Hanson criticizes U.S. support for Hamas by indirectly funding them through a $6 Billion dollar ransom to Iran. He points out the State Department's message that seemed to downplay the Israel-Palestine violence and expresses frustration with the Biden administration's approach, comparing it to their domestic crime policy. Hugh Hewitt discusses the personal impact of the recent Israeli conflict with Yoni Tidi, a former Israel Defense Forces member who lost family members in this past weekend's conflict, highlighting the urgency for a robust response against Iran. Yoni conveys his frustration, underscoring the barbaric brutality of the conflict in Gaza. Dennis Prager and Michael Oren, the former Israeli Ambassador to the United States, discuss the immense human toll in Israel from recent attacks, drawing a comparison to a 9/11-scale tragedy. Oren emphasizes the severity of the situation and the challenges in countering a biased narrative in the media.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

They discuss Oren's belief that "a realignment that focuses the Republican Party on pro-worker economic policy is well underway," why GOP voters continue to prioritize socio-cultural issues over economic issues, how a legitimately pro-worker GOP could transform American politics, and where voters stand on the "New Right" vs "Old Right" debates over economic policy.
