Hector sits down with Trey Martinez, with All God Apparel and The Trey Angle podcast. Trey is the creator and founder of All God, which is hosting the "Experience All God" fashion show in Houston, December 9th near Downtown. Follow Trey for event info @treymartinez_lll
Over the past few years, Clutch City Cruisers has become one of the largest mass bike rides in Houston, and I had a chance to sit down with two of the ride's founders, Ivan and Brandon. We're also joined by Celzo Trejo, founder of one of the country's most original bike centric popsicle carts, Hot Rod Pops. Over some coffee at OSO Coffee Shop, we talk about bikes, how Clutch City started, the Houston bike scene, we give shout outs to a few of the city's best bike shops, we talk Critical Mass, and much much more. I could have talked to these three guys for a couple more hours, and will definitely do part 2 soon. Enjoy!
Cisca Nira, co founder of the HTX Bike Fest and certified personal trainer & Tim Blakey, a 29 year bike messenger veteran, are riding their bikes down the coast of California in August. This is one more adventure to be checked off of their bucket list and they could use our help. I sit down with these two at OSO Coffee co in Houston's East End and we talk about their crazy rides, the Tour de France, Lance Armstrong, and the benefits of butt butter for cyclists. Enjoy!
Manny and Celzo, two hard working Latino business men here in Houston, stopped by OSO coffee shop to chat over some coffee and some good ass barbacoa tacos. These two do a lot in the city and never shy away from expressing how they really feel about anything and everything. We never have enough time cover everything we'd like to talk about so look forward to more episodes with these guys. Enjoy.
Jean Francois (JF) and FlatStivi, two flatland bmx athletes from Canada, have been traveling the US for a few months in their cargo van. After spending a couple of months in Cali, they've made their way into Texas and spent a couple of days in Houston. I've had the pleasure of hanging with these dudes and having good conversations over coffee at OSO Coffee shop. This episode was spontaneous and we talk about BMX, covid, life, and more BMX. Enjoy.
After a few margaritas, Steve and I decided it was a good idea to turn in the podcast equipment and chat about some of the latest news and share our thoughts about Texas lifting the mask mandate. This episode dedicated to old school radio DJ Casey Kasem.
Hector and the Crew, @commonsteve, @boonhtx, and Adrian, who isn't on social media, throw down some political banter and talk about the recent situation at the US Capitol. We hope you enjoy this perspective from four POCs. (Note: We had some technical difficulty while recording. Little distortion when we all laugh too hard. Lol.). Enjoy.
Steve Martinez, the owner of Eado Vodka, has been missing for the past 9 months. He says it's because of Covid but we know that it's because he's been in the lab, working on getting those vodka recipes just right. Hector catches up with Steve in this very raw and hilarious episode, with special guest Joel Salazar, the HTX Boss bear. Follow Steve everywhere at @commonsteve and @eadovodka.
Hector sits down with local author and blogger, Sharon Lee Zapata, and chat it up about life, writing, painting, and staying focused in what you're called to do. We mix it up with about 20 other random topics, but that's what you get when you put two A.D.D. adults behind some podcasting mics. Enjoy.
Hector sits down with Scott Obrien, creator of the FLatland Voodoo Jam in Louisiana. His daughter Mia joins us as we talk about Scott's adventures as a fire fighter, coach, family man and BMX flatlander.
You'll remember Omari from a previous podcast, who brought a good friend and his future podcast cohost Myeshia Chanel. I get their perspective on so many black issues along with a variety of other topics such as Cardi B and Killer Mike. Enjoy.
Hung out with the infamous Mark Champion of Ninth Inning, East End Barber owner Ryan Taylor and DJ Turbo (i think he's a DJ). Good session chatting about how covid affected their lives and businesses and how we're all getting back to “normal” like Brad Pitt. Enjoy.
Hector sits down with good friend and BMX rider Omari Cato from Houston Tx. Over some good whiskey, we reminisce about How we met through BMX flatland and cover everything from giving back through BMX to racism and politics.
Gabriela Campos with @miradela and Influencer Patty Artiga with @pattytellsall are the first two guests in what I'll be calling “Latina Sessions”. We had a great time catching up, talking about life, a huge Instagram giveaway that they're launching Sept 29th and we mixed it all up with our favorite TV show “Gossip Girl”. Enjoy. Xoxo.
Hector sits down with good friend Ozeal DeBastos, founder of Pod Houston, and talk about the podcasting industry, reminisce about their favorite 80s breakdance movies, and throw down lots of knowledge for anyone looking to get into the podcast game. Enjoy.
Joel is not only my nephew but has also been a big part of everything I do for many years. He's the designated demo crew & the best panda you could ever hire to entertain at your bday party. We chat about his life growing up and give you a quick review on the best movie ever made, the Karate Kid. Enjoy.
Hector and Commonsteve sit down with Greg Pérez, owner of Monkey's Tail bar in the Northside of Houston. Over a few short glasses of whiskey, rye, and gin, we talk about how the bar started and how they've been giving back during the pandemic.
Hector takes the podcast on the road and into the shop of Tenfold Coffee's new brick and mortar in the Houston Heights. Hector and Jacob Ibarra talk about coffee, opening a new business during a pandemic, and yes, more talk about coffee.
Hector sits down with Fern DeSantos, one of Houston's faithful dog advocates and hardest working Latinas that you'll ever meet. We talk about the impact Covid has had on her dog walking business and how it inspired her to start a new brand called We Love Peesha. And we all love pizza, right? Enjoy.
This is my new podcast and I sit down and give you a little intro as to what to expect from HECTOR.
