The world is full of beauty — and it's also full of chaos. In this episode, I share a personalstory from riding the Tail of the Dragon — 130 curves in the mountains, a broken clutchhandle, and an unexpected act of kindness that stayed with me for over a decade.Depression has a way of magnifying the negative and shrinking the good. But what if whatwe focus on actually shapes how we experience life? This episode is about perspective, gratitude, and remembering that most people are stillgood. If this episode speaks to you, share it with someone who needs hope. And if you'd like to read more true stories like this — stories about resilience, faith, love, and unexpected kindness — check out my book “A New Sunrise,” available now on Amazon. There are many more moments like this inside. Thanks for listening. If history is a teacher, we have at least 4 more thaws-and-refreezes before Real Spring. But, if history is a teacher, Luke still won't learn. LATER: WE HAVE SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT. The F.A.T.E. Podcast is back up with the Season 3 opener and host Christy Busby is finally giving a long overdue update on her own spiritual journey. Submerged in yet another dark night of the soul, she voraciously consumed all things spiritual which became an uncompromising investigation into consciousness, power, and the nature of reality itself.Every rabbit hole she went down has been realigning her thoughts, the structure of belief her system, and the mechanics of perception. Questioning everything, she started asking what I could verify within myself, using my own discernment and letting intuition and heart lead the whole way. This all culminated in a magical night on the first night of the winter solstice in December 2025. It was an evening led by intuition, divine guidance, and it shifted my mind and body in a way that I cannot understand and have no logical explanation for. I'll tell you my story. It will be up to your own discernment to decide if it's true. This season 3 of the F.A.T.E. podcast will awaken you to your true self. If you're ready to ask deeper questions, live consciously, and discover who you are. Unlock the secret to transforming your land into a deer magnet and wildlife haven with expert tree planting strategies you need to hear now. Whether you're new to habitat management or looking to refine your approach, this episode reveals the foundational principles that can make or break your success; from timing and soil prep to selecting the right tree species that thrive in your zone. Discover why planting in spring outperforms fall, how to choose trees that attract deer year-round, and the underestimated power of soft mast for consistent food sources. Ryan Haynes of Blue Hill Wildlife Nursery breaks down regional challenges, soil preparation, and the critical distinctions between shade-tolerant and sun-loving trees; demystifying complex concepts so even a beginner can plan with confidence. We break down practical tips on soil testing, protective measures to ensure your investment grows, and how diversifying mast species can provide a continuous, reliable food supply for deer and other wildlife through all seasons. Takeaways Wildlife Planting Value: Planting for wildlife is about creating a diverse ecosystem that sustains deer year-round. Tree Success Factors: Success depends on selection, planting techniques, and protection, not just soil or timing. Challenging Terrain Planting: Improve soil and manage sites to plant in rocky areas, overcoming landscape challenges. Planting Timing: Focus on tree dormancy and readiness rather than specific seasons for planting. Mast Management: Use diverse species with staggered fruiting to maximize mast availability, not year-round production. Grafting Benefits: Propagate high-yield, disease-resistant trees from successful wild sources. Integrated Habitat Management: Combine planting, protection, soil health, and timing for effective habitat management. Species Bloom Timing: Use bloom and ripening schedules to maximize deer forage through diversity. Root Health & Protection: Healthy roots and protection enhance tree development and habitat reliability. Strategic Year-Round Planting: Plant early, mid, and late-season trees to ensure year-round food for deer. Please Show Our Supporters Some Love!! Eveen the Eviscerator is skilled, discreet, professional, and here for your most pressing needs in the ancient city of Tal Abisi. Her guild is strong, her blades are sharp, and her rules are simple. Those sworn to the Matron of Assassins—resurrected from death and wiped of their memories—have only three unbreakable vows.First, the contract must be just. Second, even the most powerful assassin may only kill the contracted. The third and the simplest: once you accept a job, you must carry it out. And if you stray? There's hell to pay--literally. When the Festival of the Clockwork King turns the city upside down, Eveen's newest mission brings her face-to-face with a past she isn't supposed to remember and a vow she can't forget. In this reading, we meet the undead assassin Eveen as she readies to set out on a job. Gliding high above Tal Abisi from rooftop to rooftop, she surveys the night Festival of the Clockwork King--where careful readers will catch glimpses of a mashup of New Orleans Mardi Gras, Carriacou Shakespeare Mas, Trinidad Canboulay, allusions to Lord Blakie's "Steelband Clash"--and more. During The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Tour, Peter Gabriel informed his Genesis bandmates that he would be leaving once his touring duties were fulfilled. While this was disappointing to the band, some members of the press heralded it as the end of Genesis. However, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Steve Hackett could all contribute to the songwriting as could their wily drummer, Phil Collins. So the band forged ahead and began and exhaustive search for lead singers. To make a long story short, they figured out that Phil had the kind of voice they were looking for and decided it best if he came out from behind the drum kit to be the lead singer. While sometimes replacing the lead singer can cause a revolt of hardcare fans, it actually opened up the band for greater success in the US as they found his funny, entertaining style more fun than the serious, artsy Gabriel. Their first post-Gabriel effort was A Trick of the Tail, a gathering of 8 eclectic songs that hold them to their progressive roots but also branch out into more radio friendly material. The opener Dance on a Volcano let's Hackett and Banks bounce off each other in bombastic proggy fashion while the follow up Entangled is a more lilting back and forth. And it adds a bit of humor as does Robbery, Assault and Battery which lets Collins adjust his accent for different characters. Ripples is a lovely song that would portend more like it in the coming years and Los Endos is a great way to end the album (and a concert). Of course we talk about all the politics, go track x track and discuss how this album started them on a more pop path, one that would end up with them on top of the rock /pop world 10 years later. I might overuse this word a little bit, but on this week's episode we do have a true pair of legends in conversation on the Talkhouse Podcast this week: Maynard James Keenan and Daniel Ash. Keenan is of course best known as the frontman for Tool, the dark, complex, heavy band he formed way back in 1990—but whose records come few and far between. Keenan is also the frontman for A Perfect Circle, but the reason for today's chat is yet another band, Puscifer. This one started out almost as a solo outlet for Keenan's weirdest ideas: There are comedic elements, and—fun fact—Puscifer actually sprung to life as part of a Mr. Show sketch. (Google it, it's a good story.) But the band has evolved over the years into a steady trio that features Keenan alongside Carina Round and Mat Mitchell, and that more recently has explored Keenan's most theatrical and straightforward impulses. It's funny, weird, and heavy, and the brand new Puscifer album, Normal Isn't, even nods sonically to UK post-punk bands like Killing Joke. Check out “Self Evident” right here. The other half of today's conversation is Daniel Ash, whose resume also includes a remarkable number of incredible bands, starting with Bauhaus, moving directly into Tones on Tail, and then heading for a long stretch into Love and Rockets, which reunited a couple of years ago for some very welcome shows. Ash's guitar playing over the years has been quietly influential on a ton of players; you can hear his tone in a remarkable swath of bands. Last year, he released the first album by his latest outfit, Ashes & Diamonds. Called Ashes & Diamonds Are Forever, it's unmistakably Ash's voice and tone, though in some flashier dressing on occasion. It's a lot of fun. Check out “Teenage Robots” right here. In this wide-ranging conversation, Ash and Keenan talk about Keenan's wine business—he was nice enough to send Ash some bottles in advance of this chat—as well as touring, making videos, and the seemingly inevitable future of AI. Ash thinks it's going to be good, so even if he's wrong, it's nice to hear some optimism. Ash is also obsessed with motorcycles, leading Keenan to suggest an intervention. Enjoy. He grew up in a quiet country town in Queensland, the kind of place where nights were genuinely dark and every sound meant something. His life was predictable, grounded in routines, old houses, and vintage cars that behaved exactly the way machines were supposed to behave. That predictability was what made the small deviations impossible to ignore.A car door opening with no wind.
