Today's episode is a treat. I got to interview Steve Martinez. Steve is one of the world's experts in peptides. Everyone's raving about peptides right now. Any time I bring up the word peptides, people's ears perk up. Why? Because peptides are naturally occurring in our body. Our body makes peptides and there's a peptide for everything. But many of the peptides that my friends and I are taking are peptides that are helping encourage our body to build healthier, more radiant skin, more muscle, give us a better metabolism. All the things that we desire can actually be easier when you supplement with peptides. You're going to learn in this conversation how to preserve your youth, how to upgrade your metabolism, how to make your skin look glowy and youthful, how to feel good, have more energy, sleep better, get that deep sleep. Steve's got the drip on all of it. Not only is he an expert in peptides, but he knows a lot about hormones. And he is one of the world's experts with men's hormones, helps men become the leaders that they desire to be. I felt so humbled and honored to have this conversation with Steve just because of his heart, his integrity and his desire to help. He studies and works so hard because he cares about helping people feel their best. And I've been working with Steve the past three years on peptides and making sure my hormones are optimized and I've never felt or looked better. I am personal walking testimony that if you want to look and feel your best, definitely listen to this episode because the tips and supplements that Steve's helped me with have really transformed the way I feel about the way I look and feel and my sleep and my energy and all the things. It's been nearly half a decade since thousands of indigenous water and land defenders and their accomplices and allies weathered a difficult winter and attacks by law enforcement and private security attempting to push through the Dakota Access Pipeline through so-called North Dakota. The DAPL was eventually built and has already, unsurprisingly damaged the lands, waters and sacred sites of the Standing Rock Sioux and other people native to the area. Resistance has also continued to this and other extractions and pipeline projects across Turtle Island and the defense against DAPL surely inspired and fed many other points of opposition in defense of the earth and native sovereignty. On one night in November, 2016, as government goons leveled fire hoses and “less-lethal” armaments at water defenders in freezing temperatures, Sophia Wilansky suffered an injury from an explosion that nearly took her arm. An Indigenous and Chicano former employee of another pipeline project named Steve Martinez volunteered to drive Sophia to the hospital in Bismark. For this, he was subpoenaed to a Federal Grand Jury, which he refused to participate in. Now, almost 4 and a half years later, Steve is being imprisoned for resisting another FGJ in Bismark. For the hour, we hear from Chava Shapiro with the Tucson Anti-Repression Committee and James Clark, a lawyer who works with the National Lawyers Guild, talk about Steve's case, the dangers of Grand Juries, and why it's imperative for movements to support their incarcerated comrades. More info on the case and ways you can support Steve, plus more info on Grand Juries can be found at SupportSteveMartinez.com and you can also follow the campaign on Twitter via @SupportSteveNow, Instagram via @SupportSteveMartinez and donate at his GoFundMe. Are you being treated with the band aid approach to medicine? Most conventional doctors only treat their patients to cover their symptoms without ever determining the root cause of their symptoms. He believes “Food can be thy Medicine” and is determined to achieve optimal health through Natural and Bioidentical Therapies. A selection of deeper tracks purchased through the first third of this year. I finally got a chance to spin then together over the Easter bank holiday. Apologies it’s taken a while to get it online. Includes a few of my current favourites: the new mix of Ben Watt’s Lone cat and Lawnchair Generals’ You Got To, but also check out the moody strings of Les Violins Ivres, and the Trentemoller tune that sounds like it was penned for a 70s sci-fi TV show.
