Episode 19 Quiet Time, Devotional, the Secret Place... call it whatever you would like, but if you are a Believer, it's so important to make time with God a part of your daily rhythm. In Episode 19, “Jenn's Guide to Quiet Time,” I'm sharing my journey through navigating daily dedicated time with the Lord over the past ten years. Creating a rhythm of seeking the Lord through prayer and reading scripture is a spiritual discipline. But just because it's a discipline doesn't mean it has to be daunting or dreadful. Join me as I give tips and ideas of how to bring a fresh element of fun to your devotional time with God. ___________________________________________________ Jenn's Guide to Quiet Time Weekly Scripture •Colossians 1:9-12 (AMP) “For this reason, since the day we heard about it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things], so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts]; [we pray that you may be] strengthened and invigorated with all power, according to His glorious might, to attain every kind of endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God's people) in the Light.” Scripture Meditation Questions •Why do we need to be filled with the knowledge of His will? •What is the result of growing in the Knowledge of God? •What does it mean to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord? Think on this current season of life — are you walking in a manner worthy of the Lord? If not, what areas could you alter to make sure you are walking in step with God? •I challenge you to read Colossians 1:9-13 in a different translation every day this week. Pray it over yourself and ask God to help you unpack all that it means. ___________________________________________________ Want to connect? Find me on Instagram at @jenn.zetrouer #jennsguide

Episode 18 In Psalm 90:12, Moses prays that the Lord would teach us to number our days that we might gain a heart of wisdom. Life is passing before us faster than we know it, and if we are not intentional our lives, we might fail to steward what we have been given and end up squandering our time, talents, and resources. On Episode 18, “Jenn's Guide to Living Intentionally,” I'm sharing 3 areas I have learned to practice living in a way that is purposeful and full of intention. ___________________________________________________ Jenn's Guide to Quiet Time Weekly Scripture •Scripture - Ephesians 1:16-23 AMP “I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places], Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come. And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], [Ps. 8:6.] Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].” Scripture Meditation Questions •Considering verse 17, why is it so important for each of us to individually have personal and intimate insight of God Himself? In other words, why should we know Him? •Paul prays that as our hearts are flooded with God's light, we would experience the hope of His calling and the greatness of His power. As every day people, why do we need to realize who we are and what our inheritance is? •I challenge you to read Ephesians 1:16-23 in a different translation every day this week. Pray it over yourself and ask God to help you unpack all that it means. ___________________________________________________ Want to connect? Find me on Instagram at @jenn.zetrouer #jennsguide

Episode 17 Oftentimes, we have an idea and a timeline of what we dream that our lives will look like. Unfortunately, the reality is that life isn't always everything we want it to be and more. Sometimes things don't happen they eat we think and when we think they are supposed to. God's plans often look different than our plans and His timeline often looks different from our timeline. Today on Episode 17, “Jenn's Guide to Being Content In Every Season,” I'm vulnerably sharing my journey from disappointment to contentment as my plans did not unfold as I hoped and when I hoped in my twenties. ___________________________________________________ Jenn's Guide to Quiet Time Weekly Scripture •Scripture - Philippians 4:11-13 AMP Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances. I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] Scripture Meditation Questions •What practical steps can you take this week to be content, regardless of circumstances? •Ask yourself, “Am I self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy, regardless of my circumstances?” •Are you in a place of more than enough? Or are you in need? Wherever you are in this season, the Lord has something just for you. Ask Him to infuse you with inner strength and confident peace so that you can endure and live fully alive to His purposes regardless of what this season of life looks like. ___________________________________________________ Want to connect? You see, you are God's masterpiece and no one in the world is like you. No one can do what you do the way that you do it. On Episode 16, “Jenn's Guide to Living Colorfully,” join me as I break down how to break off fear and shine the Kingdom light in the midst of the mundane. ___________________________________________________ Jenn's Guide to Quiet Time Weekly Scripture •Scripture - Matthew 5:14-16 (AMP) “You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Scripture Meditation Questions •If you are a lampstand, where have you been set? Who are the people you have been placed around that you can shine the light of Christ to? •The Passion Translation translates verse 15 to say this, “And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it's placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light.” Is it possible that you have hidden yourself in an obscure place? •If you have hidden the light you carry, what are some ways you can come out of the shadows and allow your light to shine? When you do, those around you will see your good deeds and give glory to the Father. ___________________________________________________ Want to connect? They're like lovely sanctuaries of your presence! 2 Deep within me are these lovesick longings, desires and daydreams of living in union with you. When I'm near you my heart and my soul will sing and worship with my joyful songs of you, my true source and spring of life! 3 O Lord of Heaven's Armies, my King and my God, even the sparrows and swallows are welcome to build a nest among your altars for the birds to raise their young. 4 What pleasure fills those who live every day in your temple, enjoying you as they worship in your presence! 5 How enriched are they who find their strength in the Lord; within their hearts are the highways of holiness! 6 Even when their paths wind through the dark valley of tears, they dig deep to find a pleasant pool where others find only pain. He gives to them a brook of blessing filled from the rain of an outpouring. 7 They grow stronger and stronger with every step forward, and the God of all gods will appear before them in Zion. On Episode 14 of the podcast, “Jenn's Guide to Challenging the Gloom,” I'm talking about living out the kingdom of God expressed through lives of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. ___________________________________________________ Jenn's Guide to Quiet Time Weekly Scripture •James 1:2-4 TPT “2 My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! 3 For you know that when your faith is tested[c] it stirs up power within you to endure all things. 4 And then as your endurance grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.” Scripture Meditation Questions •What are some difficulties you have been facing in this current season of life? •How do you think God might be using these tough things to provide opportunities to press through from despair to joy? •Take a few of the tough things that you are going through currently and ask the Lord what good could come out of them. Episode 13 When you think of self care, images of face masks, pedicures, and cookie dough ice cream might come to your mind. I think that's because the popular concept of this buzzword “self care” is centered around bringing comfort to ourselves. However, I believe that true self care has a lot less to do with comfort, and a lot more to do with discipline. *ouch* On Episode 13, “Jenn's Guide to True Self Care,” I'm talking about stewarding over the life God has given you in every area — from nutrition, to budgeting, and even getting enough rest. ___________________________________________________ Jenn's Guide to Quiet Time Weekly Scripture •Psalm 119:33-40 TPT Give me revelation about the meaning of your ways so I can enjoy the reward of following them fully. Give me an understanding heart so that I can passionately know and obey your truth. Guide me into the paths that please you, for I take delight in all that you say. Cause my heart to bow before your words of wisdom and not to the wealth of this world. Help me turn my eyes away from illusions so that I pursue only that which is true; drench my soul with life as I walk in your paths. Reassure me of your promises, for I am your beloved, your servant who bows before you. Defend me from the criticism I face for keeping your beautiful words. See how I long with cravings for more of your ways? Let your righteousness revive my spirit! Scripture Meditation Questions •What do verses 33-34 say are the result of revelation and understanding? •Why do you think the psalmist prayed that his heart would “bow before God's words of wisdom and not to the wealth of this world?” Why do you think that shift of heart posture from worldly wealth to heavenly wisdom is important? •The psalmist said, “Help me turn my eyes away from illusions so that I pursue only that which is true.” Ask yourself, “what am I meditating on that is an illusion and not rooted in truth?” ___________________________________________________ Want to connect? On episode 12 of the podcast, “Jenn's Guide to Moments, Memories, and Memorials,” I'm talking about why it's so important for us to chronicle our lives. ___________________________________________________ Jenn's Guide to Quiet Time Weekly Scripture •Psalm 92:1-4 “It is good to give thanks to the Lord And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night, With the ten-stringed lute and with the harp, With resounding music upon the lyre. For You, O Lord, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands.” Scripture Meditation Questions •The psalmist says that it is good to give thanks to the Lord and says that the Lord has brought joy through what He has done. What is something that God has done for you in the past that you can thank Him for today? •A distinction is made by the psalmist between declarations made in the morning and at night. He says that it is good to declare God's lovingkindness (other translations say love) in the morning and God's faithfulness at night. •I want to challenge you this week to put this into practice.
