As spiritual deception becomes harder to recognize, Rick examines three growing trends that many Christians may be overlooking, including the controversy surrounding the Passion Translation, the debate over UFOs and demons, and the rise of modern breathwork practices. Rick explores a larger question: How do believers discern what is truly from God and what is not? If a book promises to give you the heart of God while quietly replacing His words with someone else's, that's not a translation. It's a trap. And the trap has a paper trail.ABOUT THIS EPISODE:The Passion Translation has been endorsed by some of the most influential voices in the charismatic world. Bill Johnson called it the best thing to happen to Bible translation in his lifetime. It's been sold in Bethel's bookstore, read in prayer rooms, and handed to new believers across the movement.David Fish and JonMark Baker of the Minor Prophets Podcast spent weeks comparing the Passion Translation, line by line, against its claimed sources. What they found isn't a matter of interpretation. It's documented.Where Brian Simmons departs from the Greek text, and claims an "Aramaic" source, the renderings don't match the Peshitta, the actual Syriac New Testament. They match the Mirror Bible, The Message, and other fringe paraphrases. Fish found over 300 instances in Paul's epistles alone. Simmons also claimed co-translator credentials on a Kuna New Testament. Ethnos 360, the mission that ran the project, says he was NEVER a Bible translator. The organization's own personnel said so on record. The second half of this episode goes deeper: into Simmons' theology. In his own words, in multiple recordings, he redefines the second coming of Christ as an unveiling of a glorified end-times people rather than a bodily return. He calls the physical second coming "not in the Bible." He says, directly: "Christ is no longer a person. He is now a body, a corporate expression." That's not a slip. That's a system, and it has a name: Manifested Sons of God theology has a long history in the fringe of the charismatic world, and Brian Simmons is teaching it from the platform the movement handed him.Join us to hear the evidence for yourself as fellow continuationists examine the paper trail.0:00 – Introduction3:55 – Plagiarism Discovery Explained5:53 – Examples of Copied Verses8:16 – Why Simmons Changed Text12:07 – Lessening Judgment: John 1513:29 – Is Simmons a Universalist?16:46 – Simmons' Fabricated Credentials18:44 – Ethnos360 Exposes Simmons20:01 – Manifested Sons Theology37:21 – "I Know When Jesus Returns"57:58 – "I Am My Lover" Clip1:06:35 – "Christ Is No Longer A Person"1:14:26 – Closing ThoughtsRESOURCES MENTIONED:- The Minor Prophets/Mike Winger episode:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9--owgBjtA- Andrew Chapman's Research: https://theriveroflife.com/category/the-passion-anti-translation/- Mike Winger's Research on The Passion Translation: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ3iRMLYFlHuv-ISp_iIw1WL8zaEm86L8 and https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ3iRMLYFlHvXha4rjCj1Po0WLQc_jGGW- Handbook on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament — G.K. Christian Ethics and the Old Testament - Lesson 27

The Bible we hold is a translation of ancient manuscripts. But does that gap between the original autographs and our English Bibles introduce error we should be worried about? In Lesson 27 of Christian Ethics and the Old Testament, Dave Rich works through the transmission and translation of Scripture—and makes the case that we have every reason for confidence.Rich opens with the logic: reliable manuscripts plus faithful translation equals God's Word in English. Either piece can fail, and he walks through what happens when it does. From there he examines the manuscript evidence for the Old Testament—the Masoretic Text, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the Septuagint—showing that agreement across those sources is remarkably stable. The one significant variant, Psalm 22:16, turns out to have strong textual support for "they pierced my hands and feet," consistent with its unmistakably messianic context.New Testament transmission is even more extensively attested—over 5,800 Greek manuscripts, with 99.5% of the text determinable from existing evidence. Rich walks through the nature of the variants honestly, showing that the most significant ones are well known, clearly marked in modern translations, and doctrinally non-threatening.The lesson closes with a survey of English translations across a spectrum from highly literal to outright corrupt: the YLT, NASB, LSB, ESV, NIV, New Living, and then the Message, the New World Translation, the Passion Translation, and several others that distort the text to serve a theological agenda.God had a purpose in giving His Word, Rich argues, and that same providence extends to its transmission and translation into every language. ★ Support this podcast ★

Seeing Yourself Through God's Eyes Song of Solomon 6:13b “The Shulamite Bride: Why would you seek a mere Shulamite like me? Why would you want to see my dance of love? The Bridegroom-King: Because you dance so gracefully, as though you danced with angels!” I am in love with the passion translation of this book. Let me explain quickly for those of you who, like me, don't know much about the Song of Songs. The Song of Songs is a love story between a Shulamite Bride, the Bridegroom King, and the brides-to-be, representing our interactions with the world. The Passion Translation tells you who is talking in each verse, so you don't have to guess. It is easy to understand, and it can be read like a play. It is so beautiful. If you want to read this translation for free, you can go to bible.com and search for it. Once you read it, you will be just as in love with it as I am. Remember, this is meant to be our story, too. This is how much our Lord is pursuing us, too! Limiting the verses to one or two is difficult, as this book has so many good things. I love the whole thing. However, the point of this podcast is to go deeper into the verses, so I will do my best to select a few to discuss. Today is just one verse, but a conversation between the Shulamite Bride and her Bridegroom King. The Shulamite woman is asking a question we all ask at some point. Why me? Have you ever asked yourself this question when talking to the Lord? Why would you pick me? What would you gain by working through me? What would lead you to choose me? I know I have. This was the exact question I asked the Lord when I was trying to figure out why I had been baptized in the Holy Spirit and yet could not speak/pray in tongues. I heard/felt the Lord very clearly say, “Why not you?” He is saying that to you, too. The Lord is so amazing. When we look at ourselves, all we see are our flaws. All we see are our mistakes. That is not what the Lord sees. When He looks at us, He sees the person He created us to be. When He looks at us, He sees His child. If you have children or nieces and nephews, consider how you look at them. Do you see their mistakes and flaws, or do you see the good in them? So many kids- my nieces and nephews, my boys, and their friends- don't like how they look or don't like anything about themselves. They don't feel comfortable in their own skin. I wish, more than anything, that they could see themselves through my eyes. I wish they could see how amazing they are. I could tell them, and I do, but they don't hear me. They don't believe me. I imagine this is how God feels. I imagine how we talk about ourselves and see ourselves breaks His heart. I imagine He wishes we could see ourselves through His eyes, too. Did you know this is something you can pray for? I have prayed for this for a long time, and while I am sure I don't see myself exactly like God sees me, I do see myself better than I used to. I know I am a beloved child of God. I know God loves me, and although I may still question why He would want to use me or whether He is using me, I don't question whether He loves or likes me. I know He does. I used to think the disciple John was a bit prideful or conceited, referring to himself as “the beloved disciple, or the one whom Jesus loved. Now I know that He wasn't. He could see himself a bit more through Jesus' eyes. He believed what Jesus said about him. Jesus didn't just say it about him, though. He said it about all of us. John was just able to believe it a bit more than we are. In the verse above, the Shulamite Bride asks, “Why would you seek a mere Shulamite like me? Why would you want to see my dance of love?” and the Bridegroom-King says, “Because you dance so gracefully, as though you danced with angels!” Do you see how differently the Lord sees us? Do you see the kind of gentle, loving answer we get when we ask Him to show us how He sees us or why He would pick us?  He doesn't stop there, either. He goes on for almost another chapter, saying how wonderful she is. God loves you! He really does. If you doubt this or think God couldn't possibly love you after all you have done or all that has been done to you, I assure you, He can, and He does. If you have ever wondered what it feels like to be loved or pursued by the Lord, read this book in the Bible, and you will begin to understand what it feels like. When you read this book, resist the urge to discount yourself. When you read this book, fight the feelings you will have to say that God is not talking to you. This is easy for us to do. We can easily believe that God loves others but not us. We can believe that God forgives others but not us. God loves you! God forgives you! Read this book and picture Jesus saying these things to you. Try to take them in and sit with them. Maybe you just read one chapter at a time and sit with it. Maybe you just read one paragraph and sit with it. Imagine the Lord saying these things to you. Imagine feeling these things about the Lord. If we want an intimate relationship with the Lord, reading this book might be a good start. Understanding the depths of His love for me becomes a bit more achievable when I read this translation of this book in the Bible. I hope it helps you as well. Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless all those listening to this episode today. Lord, help us see your incredible love for us. Help us to believe you could be saying these things to us. Help us put ourselves in the Shulamite woman's place. Help us truly take in how much you love us, pursue us, and long for us. We love you, Lord. We want to feel this way about you. We want to long for you. We want to pursue you. We want to turn over our lives to you. We need your help, Lord. We can do all things through you and nothing without you. We ask all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus' holy name. Amen! Thank you so much for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus. I look forward to meeting you here again tomorrow. Remember, Jesus loves you, and so do I! Have a blessed day! Have you ever felt unsure about your future or about a big decision in your life? Maybe you're feeling that way right now – confused, uncertain, and discontent. Perhaps you feel paralyzed by fear of making the wrong move or wrong choice. In these seasons, when everything seems dark and foggy, how do you move forward with confidence? James 1:5 in The Passion Translation says, "If anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it! He won't see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will overwhelm your failures with his generous grace." Did you catch that? God doesn't want you to fail – He WANTS to guide you! Ask Him for wisdom and trust He will give it. Then take the pressure off yourself, leave the rest… and rest in His generous grace!

There is a trick that some realtors use when they are showing a property or doing an open house: they put a batch of cookies in the oven right before the potential buyer comes through the door. The buyer is then met with the comforting aroma of warm, gooey cookies which give them a sensation of home. Good smells draw people in and invite them to stay awhile. 2 Corinthians 2:16 in the Passion Translation says, "Through our yielded lives he spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere we go. We have become the unmistakable aroma of the victory of the Anointed One to God – a perfume of life to those being saved." What aroma is your life giving off to the people you work with? Not sure? Here's a trick. Spend some time praying before work each day, and the aroma of Christ will fill your life.

Send a textSeventeen years, one audacious goal, and a finish line that arrived at 12 noon on 12/12 while closing Ecclesiastes 12. We sit down with Dr Brian Simmons to celebrate completing the Passion Translation and to open the doors he walked through along the way: Ezekiel's piercing demands, Leviticus as a pathway to heal communal trauma, and a Revelation that burns brighter when you read the Greek closely and let metaphor do its work.Brian shares how accuracy and devotion shaped every page—why Ezekiel required deep restraint, how footnotes became a pastoral space to guide readers through difficult texts, and why Revelation's “fire horse” changes the feel of apocalyptic imagery. We move into the overlooked beauty of the Torah: Leviticus re‑introduces a wounded people to a faithful God, and Numbers' forty‑two stations map the inner journey from bondage to promise. These aren't dry notes; they're lived realities, tied to family legacy, a jungle snake‑bite miracle, and the joy of welcoming new grandchildren while closing a life's work. Our focus then tightens on Job. We talk about suffering with honesty: the adversary behind the scenes, the patience that sees “the end of the Lord,” and the wisdom of silence before arguments harden into condemnation. Job's turning line—moving from hearing about God to seeing God—becomes a mirror for modern faith. Repentance reads not as self‑hatred but as recanting distorted views of God, a shift that precedes restoration and invites us to pray for those who wounded us. Along the way, Brian reflects on translating in Bethlehem, why walking the land of Israel anchors the text, and extends an open invite to explore Job with us at Kingdom Collaboration. If you're hungry to read the Bible with new eyes—to trade secondhand faith for firsthand encounter—press play. Did Bethel Church actually repent over the Shawn Bolz scandal? In this episode of The Remnant Radio, we carefully examine the public statements and actions of Bethel Church leadership—including Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton, and Danny Silk—to determine whether their response represents genuine biblical repentance or merely institutional damage control. From questions of prophetic accountability and false prophecy to the broader credibility of charismatic theology, this conversation aims to help believers think clearly, biblically, and sober-mindedly about what true repentance looks like in church leadership. We walk step-by-step through what Bethel leaders said, what they admitted, what they failed to address, and how their response compares to the biblical standard for repentance, confession, and restoration. We also interact with the wider conversation sparked by Mike Winger and others, exploring how prophecy abuse and leadership silence can damage trust in the church and distort the witness of the gospel. As continuationists who affirm the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit, we believe accountability is not an attack on the charismatic movement—it is essential to its integrity.Critical Questions Discussed:-Is Bethel's apology genuine or just PR spin?-What does biblical restoration require beyond saying "I'm sorry"?-Why did it take Mike Winger's exposé for leadership to act?-What about Kenneth Copeland, The Passion Translation, and other concerning endorsements?-How can churches protect victims while reconciling fallen leaders to the body of Christ? Our goal is not to tear down, but to tell the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), to test everything and hold fast to what is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21), and to call the Church to holiness, transparency, and faithfulness to Christ. If you care about sound theology, responsible use of spiritual gifts, and protecting God's people from spiritual harm, this conversation is for you.Special thanks to the Bethel alumni who held their leaders accountable—your faithfulness in speaking truth in love catalyzed this moment of repentance. Patrick opens with a humorous take on smartphone addiction, featuring the quirky trend of the “Methophone”—a $20 acrylic slab meant to mimic the feel of a phone for those trying to break the habit. Patrick fields calls from listeners who share strategies for stepping back from technology, discuss the challenges and benefits of simplifying their tech use, and reflect on how easy it is to get caught up in constant scrolling. Amid the laughter and practical advice, Patrick welcomes a moving call from a listener who, after fifty years away, returns to the Catholic Church inspired by the program. Through it all, Patrick keeps the conversation uplifting, entertaining, and focused on finding community, hope, and a healthier balance in everyday life. Are you addicted to your phone? I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying over and over, “I'm not finished with you yet!”In the spirit realm, there is shifting and movement. Something is taking place, and the Lord is preparing to do a work in His people. Where you thought the time was up and the plan was complete is only the starting point. You have no idea the magnitude of the Lord's work and plan for the next season. With God, there is always a next. He is creating ways and means where they currently do not exist. So what does the Remnant need to do in this hour? We need to prepare ourselves. We, the people of God, need to spend our time soaking in His presence and seeking His face for an outpouring in our lives, allowing the Holy Spirit to renew strength and vitality within us.For I hear the Lord saying, “This is the hour! You have waited and longed for it, and now the time is upon you. Do not shrink back, for this moment will require your all. You have invested yourself in me, and now I am going to pour back into you. Like the miracle of the loaves and fishes, I will bless and break what you place in my hands and give it back multiplied to you over and over again. You will have what you need and more than enough to spare to minister to people, to your family, and to your situation, for what seemed like a breaking is turning into a blessing! What felt like an impossibility is becoming a testimony. Keep sowing. Keep putting yourself into my hands. Keep speaking my word over your life. Today is a day of joy and harvest. It is a time to look up with expectation and long for the replenishment of your soul. The whispers of yesterday will be completely forgotten—swallowed up in the magnitude of my new work in your life. For I have promised you many things and caused your heart to leap with hope, only for you to hang your head at the amount of time it has taken. But time is up! I am releasing my word now. The expectation and reason for hope is at hand. For individuals and for my church corporately, there is a release coming. To the Remnant who refuse to let go of my word and what I said, I will show my wonders. The words of my mouth are always proven true. I do what I say, and nothing can stop it. So rejoice, Remnant! Rejoice, my people! For the Lord is working now—a work that is undeniable and swift, changing the course of destiny and awakening regiment after regiment of the Remnant. Awaken, sleep no more. Keep your eyes fixed upon the object of your faith—Me. You will see me come through. You will praise me for my work. For I am not finished with you yet!”People of God, the time to make things ready is NOW!The kingdom of God is enlarging and moving, and our part is to continue the work of the Kingdom. As the Lord prepares and clears pathways of blessing, outpouring, and salvation, our role is to faithfully act and sow His Word as we always have. This is not the time to stop and simply watch. We need to awaken to see what the Lord is doing, and with a watchful eye, a working hand, and life-giving words, keep ourselves engaged in the business of the Kingdom. The book of Mark contains a passage that speaks to what we must do in this hour.Mark 4:26-29 NKJV—And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, [27] and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow; he himself does not know how. [28] For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. [29] But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”We are ambassadors in the Kingdom of God. This is a new mindset for many. The fact that we are actually invested with authority and given power through the Holy Spirit to speak words of life over dead situations and expect them to rise up is significant. This is what He has committed to the church. It is a message of power and reconciliation. We are drawing the lost with every word we say, as we echo His words over our lives, families, and situations. God is creating a harvest from your words as you plant His words in the soil of your life. From the previous scriptures in this chapter, we know that the seed being sown and spoken of is the Word of God. How easy it is to forget to sow the seed in and over your life. The church must take greater care to sow life instead of thinking and speaking death. As you read scripture, you find that the kingdom has always hinged on the spoken word of God, and for this reason alone, Satan wants to silence you.Mark declares that the Kingdom is like a man scattering seed on the ground. The ground represents our hearts. From the previous parable, Jesus makes this clear. What does the Bible say regarding our hearts? Scripture teaches us that out of the heart flow all the issues of our lives. Our heart is the starting point for everything that happens in our lives. Sowing the words of the King into and over our hearts not only affects our present mindset and thinking, but also begins to shape our actions and abilities. His words spoken from our mouths influence future events and outcomes as they change the makeup of our hearts from which the issues of life flow.Sowing the Word of the Kingdom initiates a process of growth in your spirit and in your heart, and as long as you keep sowing the Word, God is not finished with you yet! The word you've sown simply sprouts and grows. I love how the scripture says, “sleep by night and rise by day.” It means that every day, something is happening in your spirit man whether you sense it or not. The Word is working, growing, strengthening, producing, sprouting, and multiplying. God set it up this way.For those who have faced hardships, loss, disconnection, and the pain of suffering in various areas of their lives, the word of the Kingdom is at work right now. Day by day, and night by night, what you have sown is growing. Do not stop sowing the Word in your heart! We often cannot see the effects of our faith until the time of harvest. We cannot see the potential and the groundwork for life change that is taking place as we remain faithful to sow the Word, pray, seek God, worship, and release the Kingdom of God by faith. This word has been resonating in my spirit for days now—stay faithful. There are many distractions that seek to pull you away from simple faithfulness. Remnant, hear me in this. It isn't that the devil will pull you from Jesus, but that by drawing back from your faithfulness to seek the Lord, seeds stop being planted. This work of harvest is a cooperative effort. It is you and the Holy Spirit partnering together to see the multiplication of harvest begin to change the direction of your life for the good.Faithfulness touches God's heart, I believe. When a man or woman lives with a heart of faith to do what pleases God, getting alone with Him when no one else sees and speaking over their lives when no one else hears, God always sees it. He is drawn to those who will sow in faithfulness.I would say that there are many who have sown their seed, letting go of precious, valuable seeds when it seemed like nothing was happening. Your heart was sorrowful, and you did not see the end result of what you were doing. The promise seemed so distant that it felt like nothing. But God saw you. God heard you. God was moving when you didn't see Him or feel Him. The Holy Spirit was cooperating with your obedience and faithfulness when it was hard to remain faithful. Now the reward is close!Listen to what the book of Psalms says about this time in our lives.Psalm 126:5-6 NKJV—Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. [6] He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him.Let's read it in the Passion Translation as well.Psalm 126:5-6 TPT—Those who sow their tears as seeds will reap a harvest with joyful shouts of glee. [6] They may weep as they go out carrying their seed to sow, but they will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness as they bring back armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!Did you hear what it said? “Armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!” This is what we should expect. Don't let your focus be swayed. The harvest is coming. The harvest is ripening. The harvest for many is here! The Book of Mark teaches that the earth yields crops by itself. What the scripture means is that once you sow the life-giving word into your heart, an unstoppable process begins. The soil of our hearts and lives begins to sprout with life. First, the blade—almost invisible at first—the harvest begins like a tender baby, easily broken. We must continue to water it with faith and sprinkle it with more life-giving seed. Then, the head begins to form, and you can see that something is happening. With joy, you begin to sense that God is fulfilling His promise. Harvest no longer seems like a dream. You start to awaken to a new reality that something is changing in the spirit. After that, the full grain appears in the head of the wheat. It is ready.I believe many in the Remnant are at this point now. We can see that something has shifted, and awakening is occurring. Seeds are still growing, changing moment by moment. Day by day, the Lord is enlarging and multiplying the effects of what you have sown in the dark of night. Through your prayers, faith, and declarations of the kingdom word, growth is happening, and you have reason to take up joy!Let me draw your attention to Mark's last verse in this passage.Mark 4:29 TPT—“Then, when the grain is ripe, he immediately puts the sickle to the grain, because harvest time has come.”Notice the word “immediately.” Jesus won't wait when harvest time comes. This is why we MUST STAY READY. It can be easy to experience great joy as you see the seeds growing and notice the life change occurring. However, do not focus solely on the present, because even the joy of what is taking place is no match for the power of the harvest that will come. The harvest will be huge—multiplied by the tears you've sown and the words you've spoken. Your faith, which has been tested, will be found ready to carry armloads of blessing, favor, and reward. What is the greatest reward of our faith? It is to see and carry what we have believed for.Friend, Jesus is about to put in the sickle. What I have felt from the Lord is that something is happening now in the unseen realm. This word is meant to encourage you to press on and press in. Friend, keep moving forward in your faithfulness and work. The Holy Spirit has been speaking to my heart that “blocks are being moved into place—ready for construction. He says, “you will see that I do a quick work!”Again I say, when harvest comes, it moves fast, so be ready. The Holy Spirit is communicating that, “the heavens are moving and shifting on your behalf. Do not think that I am done. NO! I have not even started yet!”Listen to the closing part of this prophetic word from the Lord. It is meant for our encouragement.“To my faithful ones, I am releasing now the power of my name, the power of my provision, the power of my presence, and the power of my word. You'll see that I am the God who keeps covenant and that I keep my promises. Every promise in me is “yes” and in me “amen.” I will not fail, nor will I falter, nor will I come into default on my promises. For I have every resource at my disposal to bless you as I have said. And I will bless you! I will open the windows of Heaven and pour out a blessing on you that you are not able to contain! For my Spirit is working in you now to prepare the path and open the way so that I can pour into your life every dream, purpose, and plan that I have decided in advance to pour on you. I will do what I have said. I will not pull back from the words of my mouth. So my people, keep your heart ready! For harvest is here!”➡️Subscribe to the Podcast on Apple Podcasts. If this podcast has encouraged you and stirred your heart to seek the Lord, would you help me reach more people with this message? Coleman turns our attention to the fourth and culminating invitation in Hebrews 10:25:“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”With clarity, depth, and spiritual warmth, Donald explores how this “Let us” statement isn't just a call to church attendance, but a divine invitation into intentional presence, compassionate community, and agape-infused fellowship. Drawing on both the NIV and Passion Translation, this episode reclaims the purpose behind gathering: not performance, but presence with God and one another. In this teaching, you'll hear Donald:✅ Unpack the tabernacle progression—outer court, inner court, and the holy of holies—as a symbol of access into deeper intimacy with God✅ Reflect on the modern spiritual hunger among the unaffiliated (“nones”) as a global cry for agape✅ Explain how unmet human needs—esteem, safety, affection—can distort community if not surrendered to God✅ Offer insights on divine therapy, drawing from John of the Cross and the practice of communing with God in solitude✅ Call believers into spiritual maturity, where time in God's presence naturally overflows into mutual encouragement and sacred assemblyThis episode is both a conclusion and a commissioning—urging us not only to draw near to God, but also to draw near to one another in a world that desperately needs the love, unity, and hope that only a Christ-centered community can provide."Have Questions, Send us a Message" This podcast is a production of The Center for Biblical Coaching and Leadership. CLICK HERE FOR 2025 RETREATLive Unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus ChristRomans 1:16-17 “ For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”I first read this verse in the Passion Translation this morning, and it says, “I refuse to be ashamed of the wonderful message of God's liberating power unleashed in us through Christ! For I am thrilled to preach that everyone who believes is saved – the Jew first, and then people everywhere! The gospel unveils a continual revelation of God's righteousness – a perfect righteousness given to us when we believe. And it moves us from receiving life through faith to the power of living by faith. This is what the scripture means when it says: "We are right with God through life-giving faith!”I love how these verses emphasize that God's power is for everyone who believes. The message we are tasked with spreading is not just for the Jewish people, or any group of people. It is for anyone who believes. This is important to remember because at times we can get very selective about who we do and do not give the message too. Sometimes we can avoid sharing the message with some people because they may not fit our idea of what a Christian should be. We might look at them and immediately judge them by what they look like or how they are dressed. We were tasked with bringing the message to every single person in all corners of the earth. It is not up to us to decide who is worthy or not worthy of hearing the word. We never know who needs to hear the Gospel.I recall a story about a group of people in Ireland who were learning to use the evangelization tool called 'Jesus Knocking'. They were taught how to use it, and then they were sent out on the streets to knock on doors and begin telling people about Jesus. These two men, who were particularly shy, knocked on this one guy's door. When the man answered, they could see he was a biker, part of a gang, and he looked kinda scary. The first thing he did was tell them they had to come inside because he couldn't be seen. He had a warrant out for his arrest. They were very nervous to go inside this guy's house, but they did. They were certain that he would not want to hear what they had to say, but they asked him anyway. He said, “Sure, I will listen.” Then, when they got to the part where they asked if he wanted to have a personal encounter with Jesus, he said yes. They were so surprised. It turns out he was very nice and that Jesus was just what he needed in his life. Once he turned his life over to Jesus, everything changed for him. A few weeks later, he happened to be in a car with fellow gang members when the car got stopped. He thought about lying about who he was so that he didn't get arrested because he still had a warrant out for his arrest. Although now that he had found Jesus, he knew he couldn't lie. When they asked what his name was, he told them. They looked him up in the system and said he was free to go. He has no idea what happened to the warrant, but he was so grateful to God for saving him.The verse also says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith.” I love to think about the power of God that we have living inside of us. However, this reminds us that the Gospel is also the power of God. I think we forget how powerful the Gospel can be. I think we can take it for granted sometimes and forget that not everyone knows how great God is. Not everyone has heard that Jesus died on the cross for their sins. Jesus loved them so much they he took every bad thing they ever did and will ever do to the cross with Him.The amazing thing about the Gospel is that even if people have heard it before, they may hear it again, and it hits them in a different way. Maybe something they have gone through in their life has prepared them to hear it differently this time. Maybe life has been rough, and the idea that Jesus loves them and would do anything for them is exactly what they needed to hear that day. Being Catholic, we get to hear the Gospel every Sunday at Mass. The Gospel is not something new to us, and if we are honest, probably not always exciting. We can let it become mundane and ordinary if we are not careful, because we do have ready access to it, and we do hear it all the time at Mass. However, we must never forget the power of the Gospel. When the apostles first started bringing the Gospel to all parts of the world, people were hungry for it. They were baptizing several people everywhere they went. The world is just as hungry for it today. We just don't think to spread it because we live in a culture that seems to be open to everything except Christianity. Nowadays, we are afraid of talking about the Gospels and about Jesus because we don't want to offend someone, or we don't want to be attacked for our beliefs. The time when Jesus lived, the time after he died, when the apostles were spreading the Gospel around the world, it was not a friendly place for Christians either. I mean, we might get rejected, or maybe even yelled at for trying to share the Gospel. However, the apostles were stoned to death or crucified for sharing the Gospel. Over the last 2000 years or so, there have been times when it was dangerous for your life to share the gospel. It still is in some countries.I remember when I lived in England, we went to visit a historic house, and when we took the tour, they showed us the hidden hole in the wall where the Catholic priest would hide if the police came to search the house. In 1559, it became illegal in the United Kingdom to practice mass. It did not become legal again until 1791.We might not live in a particularly friendly culture when it comes to sharing the Gospel, and yet, if the apostles can do it at the risk of being stoned to death, surely we can do it with the risk of rejection? There are people still in this day and age who are risking their lives to bring the Gospel to people in countries that do not allow freedom of religion. I don't think we are all called to do that. I do believe we are all called to be an example of the Gospel to all those we meet.We are all called to live our lives as an example of Christ and His love for us. We are meant to live out the Gospel in our day-to-day lives. You know all those parables found in the Gospels, those are to show us how to live our lives so that others will see how we live, what we have, and they will want it. I don't mean what we have, as in possessions, I mean what we have, as in the love of God, the peace of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit. How are we doing with this? Are we being brave? Are we asking the Lord for a Holy Boldness so we can live our lives unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? You all know how much I love a good song. I have had the chorus of a song going through my head this whole time, and yet I couldn't quite make out the words. Has that ever happened to you? You know a song, and yet you can't think of it when you want to. Well, writing that last sentence in that last paragraph finally jogged my memory. The song is called Unashamed, and it is by Matthew West.  I know we are a bit on the longer side today, but I really want you to hear the lyrics.Three brothers in a fireWilling to die for their faithBut You were with them in the fireAnd they walked out the next dayAnd Daniel met a lionBecause he chose to prayBut You shut the mouth of that lionAnd he walked out the next day[Pre-Chorus]So what's gonna be said of me when it's all said and done? Will I stand for my beliefs or will I turn around and run?Well, let the whole world hear me say[Chorus]I'm unashamedOf the gospel of Jesus ChristAnd the truth that changed my lifeFor the name above all namesI'm unashamedAnd I will live my faith out loudTake a stand and stand my groundFor the One who took my shameI'm unashamed[Verse 2]I don't answer to the crowdI answer to a kingSo the louder they shoutOh, the louder I sing, yeah[Pre-Chorus]So what's gonna be said of me when it's all said and done? Will I stand for my beliefs or will I turn around and run?Well, let the whole world hear me say[Chorus]I'm unashamedOf the gospel of Jesus ChristAnd the truth that changed my lifeFor the name above all namesI'm unashamedAnd I will live my faith out loudTake a stand and stand my groundFor the One who took my shameI'm unashamed [Bridge]At the name of JesusEvery knee will bowAnd every tongue confessSo let it start right nowBefore you come back, LordBefore the rocks cry outI will lift my praiseLet it start right now [Chorus]I'm unashamedOf the gospel of Jesus ChristAnd the truth that changed my lifeFor the name above all namesI'm unashamed, yeahAnd I will live my faith out loudTake a stand and stand my groundFor the One who took my shameI'm unashamed(I'm unashamed)Oh, I'm unashamed (I'm unashamed)I want the world to hear me sayI'm unashamed(I'm unashamed)Oh, I'm unashamedFor the One who took my shameI'm unashamed [Outro]Lord, I will stand for YouI tell the world about YouI'm unashamedDear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless all of those who are listening to this episode. Lord, you are amazing, and we are so grateful to you for all you have given us. We are grateful for the Gospel. Help us to be bold and to live out the Gospel in our lives. Help us to share the Gospel with all we meet. Please help us to be unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Let it be said of us one day that we lived as an example of Jesus to all those we met. We love you, Lord, and we ask all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus's holy name. Amen!Thank you so much for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus. One of the definitions for 'glory' is: magnificence or great beauty. Such is the description of God, and yet it falls short. We don't have words to describe the majesty, the immense beauty of God Almighty. Perhaps the Passion Translation of the Bible offers us a fresh glimpse of how we might view our "Beloved Father" ..."may the glory of your name be the center on which our lives turn." Divine Romance: Unpacking the Song of Songs with Dr Brian Simmons

Send us a textBrian Simmons returns after facing significant health challenges to share his profound passion for the Song of Songs, revealing why this ancient text remains perhaps the most transformative book in Scripture for understanding God's heart toward us.After surviving heart failure with just 15% heart function, Brian brings renewed perspective on what truly matters - experiencing and sharing divine love. He offers a glimpse into the final stages of completing the Passion Translation, with only five books remaining before the entire Bible is finished in early 2027.The conversation shifts to explore why the Song of Songs was the favorite book of the early church fathers long before the New Testament canon was completed. Rather than viewing it as merely one of Solomon's romantic exploits, Brian unpacks how this poetic masterpiece reveals the divine romance between Christ and His bride. What makes this text exceptionally powerful is how it legitimizes our emotional connection with God. "How can we dare relate to God without our emotion?" Brian asks, challenging religious perspectives that prioritize intellect or behaviour over heart connection. The Song portrays a God who sees us as already beautiful and perfected, even while we still see our flaws - a "divine psychology" where loving affirmation becomes the catalyst for spiritual maturity. This perspective transforms how we view ourselves and others. Brian shares how God challenged him to "overestimate the value of people" - to see them not according to their current state but according to God's perspective. Through personal stories of morning communion rituals and blessing even those who have harmed him, he demonstrates how this "love theology" creates space for authentic relationship rather than religious performance.Curious about discovering your identity as the beloved of God? This conversation invites you to return to this ancient love poem with fresh eyes, allowing its divine romance to transform how you see yourself, others, and the One who pursues us until we surrender to love.https://www.thepassiontranslation.com/author/briansimmons/Support the showwww.greaterthingsinternational.com

In this powerful testimony, Dawn Hill shares her shocking 18-year journey inside the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) movement - from seeking God to being recognized as a prophet and featured in Charisma Magazine, and finally to her dramatic escape from spiritual abuse.Dawn's story isn't just another "I left my church" testimony. She was deeply embedded in the NAR world, serving, writing prophetic blogs, and even being considered for Bible study projects with the controversial Passion Translation. Her insider perspective reveals the dangerous control tactics, twisted theology, and manipulative "honor culture" that keeps people trapped in these movements. The turning point came during a service in February 2019 when her "apostle" misquoted Jesus. That moment of biblical clarity began Dawn's painful but necessary journey to freedom. In this episode, we explore:The difference between apostles and "Apostles"How Word of Faith theology preys on biblical illiteracyThe dangerous "honor culture" that silences dissentWarning signs of spiritual abuse in charismatic churchesHow God's Word itself became the tool of Dawn's liberationThe courage it takes to leave everything you've knownWhether you're in a similar situation, know someone who is, or simply want to understand these movements better, Dawn's story offers both warning and hope. Tent Talk with Nancy McCready

Nancy opens up a fresh view from the Book of Acts, reading from the Passion Translation and reflecting on its powerful greeting: “to the lovers of God.” This phrase isn't just poetic—it's a revelation. We are not lovers of God by striving, but by being born again through His Spirit. It's a sobering reminder that spiritual transformation is His work in us, not our own doing. She highlights the contrast and continuity in Acts—from the fast fire of Pentecost to the slow fire of Paul teaching from his home. The book begins with Jesus' instructions and ends with Paul's steady discipleship. This reveals a rhythm in God's movement: the spectacular and the steady both have a place in the maturing of His people. Nancy calls us to consider whether we are spectators of God's movement or surrendered participants in His ongoing acts. This is a call to live as living witnesses—glad-hearted, trustworthy sons—formed in the everyday, prepared for the hour we're living in, and united as His apostolic company on the earth today. In his sermon, Pastor Dave highlights the importance of faith being tested, illustrating that true faith can only be proven through trials, much like gold is refined in fire. He uses the stories of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to emphasize that God is present with us in our trials, affirming that while faith may be challenged, believers should remain steadfast and trust in God's purpose. Pastor encourages the congregation not to run from the fire of life's challenges, as these experiences serve to refine and strengthen their character and faith. 2 Corinthians 2:16 in the Passion Translation says, “Through our yielded lives he spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere we go. We have become the unmistakable aroma of the victory of the Anointed One to God – a perfume of life to those being saved.” What aroma is your life giving off to the people you work with? Not sure? Here's a trick. Spend some time praying before work each day, and the aroma of Christ will fill your life.

James 1:5 in The Passion Translation says, “If anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it! He won't see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will overwhelm your failures with his generous grace.” Did you catch that? God doesn't want you to fail – He WANTS to guide you! Ask Him for wisdom and trust He will give it. Then take the pressure off yourself, leave the rest… and rest in His generous grace!

Next week we hope to be joined by Jason Wallace who produced a 37 minute video about Cyril Lucaris, so today we looked at the Second Nicene Council, and read their anathemas. Enjoy-
