She experienced childhood incidents that shaped her body image and self-esteem, including beginning her first diet at the age of 11. In college, she learned to accept her body and broke the cycle of yo-yo dieting.Jen discovered intermittent fasting through brief mention of it in a book by Dr. Will Cole. Initially skeptical, she found her way to intermittent fasting in August of 2023. Jen's initial weight was 224 pounds, and she is now the lowest weight of her adult life, at around 160. She is really enjoying living her goal lifestyle, and will let her body settle wherever it's happy. Her eating window is typically from 2 PM to 7 PM. Jen's relationship with food has evolved, focusing on emotional and mental well-being. Significant weight gain occurred during a high school exchange in Japan, leading to an ongoing battle with maintaining a healthy weight, exacerbated by knee injuries and surgeries. Joanne explored a few diets, including calorie counting and hypnotherapy, with little success. Her breakthrough came in August 2022, when she discovered intermittent fasting through Gin's book, Delay, Don't Deny, leading to a steady and sustainable weight loss journey. Joanne highlights the psychological and physical benefits she experienced, including improved emotional balance, stronger physical fitness, and the ability to enjoy activities like stick fighting and yoga. Her story also touches on family support and how intermittent fasting has fit seamlessly into her lifestyle. Joanne's advice for newcomers to intermittent fasting is to approach the journey with self-love and patience. It is essential to adopt intermittent fasting for oneself and not others, finding a supportive community can be invaluable. While the weight may not fall off quickly, the non-scale victories and improved well-being are worth the effort. Be kind to yourself, give it time, and remember that persistence is key.Get Gin's books at: https://www.ginstephens.com/get-the-books.html. Good news! Despite the setbacks, when Sonja found her way back to intermittent fasting in early 2025, she rediscovered the numerous non-scale victories that her body greatly enjoyed. She emphasizes how Alternate Day Fasting (ADF) helped her break through a weight loss plateau, offering her greater flexibility and satisfaction by accommodating her social life better. For new intermittent fasters, Sonja advises tapping into resources like Gin's podcasts and books to stay informed and motivated. Her level of heart centered juicy bold service to humanity is breathtaking.  In this yummy, candid and electrifying conversation we explored… -How Susan's work began by desiring to enhance her marriage (now married 34 years) then publishing her mentors' teachings, and has since evolved into her own legacy of helping people expand their orgasmic potential, deepen bedroom communication, and experience over 20 kinds of orgasms- yes 20! -Why women's arousal operates on a completely different tempo than men's, and how slowing down, honoring engorgement, ASKING for what we need can completely change your sex life (as Susan taught me a decade ago- no clue I could ask for 20 minutes of what turned me on PRIOR to penetration) -Her frank advice to men and couples on questions ranging from inverted nipples to overcoming numbness, shame, or painful sex with tools like pumps, massage techniques, toys, and loving touch. -The importance of awakening the entire yoni, not just the clitoris, and how activating the full pelvic bowl can transform numbness into exquisite sensation and multiple orgasms. -How my sexual healing, somatic integration and own journey through trauma since Susan's last guest appearance on the Podcast, CAN & WILL open the door to more profound pleasure and presence… with Susan's gentle guidance, heartfelt erotic visualizations and fierce loving encouragement.  -Susan's reminder that sex toys aren't competition, but “cross-training for your orgasmic potential,” and how they can awaken tissue, strengthen neural pathways, and expand intimacy between partners. -The surprising role oxytocin plays in pleasure, intimacy, and vitality, and how Susan restored hers through probiotic yogurt after illness depleted her system and how my parasite cleanse is beckoning the replacement of healthy bacteria for gut health and the restoration of oxytocin.  -Susan's wisdom at 64, radiating confidence, joy, and generosity, fueled by decades of devoted practice, a loving 34-year marriage, and an unapologetic embrace of her orgasmic lifestyle. I want to be Susan when I grow up ;-)  This conversation is a sensual treasure chest of erotic wisdom, practical tools, soul-deep inspiration and the power of long term entrepreneurial sisterhood connection over a decade.. He shares his long journey with weight loss and how intermittent fasting transformed his life, helping him lose 60+ pounds, from a high of 265 pounds. Through various trials with different diet methods over the years and even medical prescriptions, James has found intermittent fasting to be the key to achieving his health goals.James delves deep into how he first encountered intermittent fasting over a decade ago. Initially skeptical, his real transformation began around seven to eight years ago when traditional calorie counting and diet attempts failed to yield lasting results. This led him to explore intermittent fasting more seriously. His thorough research into the health benefits related to autophagy, neuroplasticity, and overall metabolic health convinced him to adopt this lifestyle.Throughout James's discussion, he highlights significant improvements in his health metrics, such as reducing his blood pressure and BMI, as well as the challenges he faced from skeptical family members and friends. Despite initial resistance, especially from his wife and children in the medical field, James stood by his commitment to intermittent fasting. He prefers natural and wholesome meals, and keeps his window flexible while also remaining consistent. His success story serves as an inspiration for those facing similar opposition in their health journeys.James's advice for those starting with intermittent fasting is to know your 'why.' Understanding the personal reasons and health goals behind adopting intermittent fasting is crucial for staying committed. He encourages beginners to start with achievable goals, like a 12-hour fast, and gradually extend their fasting windows. James also recommends utilizing resources like Gin's 28-Day Fast Start book to ease into the process and find support in the intermittent fasting community.Get Gin's books at: https://www.ginstephens.com/get-the-books.html. Triple J works for the federal government, he's a minister at his church, and he wears a lot of other hats, as well. Triple J shares his inspiring journey of health transformation through intermittent fasting and lifestyle changes. Starting from a background of spiritual fasting, Triple J faced significant health challenges, including type two diabetes and a high A1C level. Through a combination of keto and intermittent fasting, he successfully lowered his A1C and ultimately came off all medications and put his diabetes into remission. He discusses the importance of clean fasting, listening to his body, and adapting his diet to maintain his health. The conversation also touches on his heart surgery and the ongoing journey of recovery and family legacy. At one point in his journey, Triple J experienced some self-sabotage, and he needed to work through that challenge. He explains how community support has been instrumental in achieving health goals. He emphases the power of mindset and having patience in the process. Triple J highlights the significance of sharing experiences within a supportive community and offers encouragement for those starting their own health journeys. As the episode ends, Triple J tells new intermittent fasters to be patient—with both yourself, and the process. Don't try to do everything all at once, and know that good things take time and can't be rushed.Get Gin's books at: https://www.ginstephens.com/get-the-books.html. Good news! She remembers first being self-conscious about her weight at the age of 7, and that set her on a path of not feeling confident in her body. Despite these struggles, she was always health and fitness focused. Even so, after going through menopause, she found herself at 197 pounds in December of 2023, and she knew she needed to make a change. Watching her parents struggle with both health and mobility later in life made her determined to keep herself strong and healthy, but she lost confidence that she could lose the weight she had put on. In April of 2024, Suzanne was listening to the Fit Strong Women podcast, where she first encountered Gin, who was a guest. Intrigued, she read Fast Feast Repeat immediately, and started fasting. She didn't have confidence that IF would work for her, but by July/August of that year, her clients suddenly started asking her if she was losing weight. That gave her more confidence, and now, a year later, Suzanne is down around 50 pounds. She is no longer on two medications she used to take, and she feels amazing. She shares intermittent fasting with her clients when they are receptive.Suzanne's parting advice to new intermittent fasters: know that it takes time, and understand that you won't feel your best for the first couple of weeks.Get Gin's books at: https://www.ginstephens.com/get-the-books.html.
