We gravitate towards what we're familiar with and living on the road has shown me that we can choose what we're familiar with in order for our environments or daily routines to serve us.
In this episode, I share the latest on our newest product line and reveal our plans for the World Cup!
Hey guys! I just wrapped up an update-call with our new teammates in the UK and MAN, I am FIRED UP. Stay tuned for some more exciting updates to come!
It's funny because almost NO ONE knows this... but... The CG or Center of Gravity Controller is actually where ALL the magic happens for Kickit!
It's so easy to get wrapped up in near term goals and lose sight of the process. I was reading an article about the dissonance between a board room and their non profit that provides community service. The board room makes demands for delivering on measurable performance indicators, and the non-profit struggles to believe in that rigidity when their soul purpose is based on intangibles. The story goes that they have an uphill battle to climb in demonstrating that real cultural change within a community isn't about a balance sheet but about relationships and inspiring hope. It takes time to generate meaningful change. This is the lesson I explore and I hope you'll enjoy my take! Thanks for kicking it with me. -E
Elon Musk once said: "Great companies are built on great products" and that's something I take to heart. Welcome back! On this episode I wanted to share a discovery that I made about Kickit. In the pursuit of building a great company and great products, I'm always checking back on our products, our branding, our packaging etc... We have so many amazing reviews from customers - over 500 at an average 4.9/5 star rating - BUT! We still have a long way to go and that's something that keeps me motivated and excited for the future! I wanted to talk about our biggest challenge with you. One that I've been working on solving for years -- and just might finally have the answers to. Enjoy and thanks for kicking it with me! -E
What's up guys! On this one, I share a distinction I found recently between having an opportunity-seeking mindset (that's productive) versus having the mindset of anticipating obstacles. I draw from my past experiences as an athlete and an early-stage entrepreneur and also inspiration from the late Kobe Bryant to shed light on the differences that having these two mindsets can have. In a world where we are constantly faced with challenges, I've noticed my behavior, recently, shifting to act in anticipation of new challenges versus focusing on new opportunities. This may be a good episode for you if you're noticing similar behavioral changes. Let's stay focused on the opportunities in front of us so we can separate from the competition and grow. Thanks for kicking it with me! -E
On this episode, I dive into how I'm handling a viral video that captured a lot of attention on TikTok. With over half a million views in two days, there was some positive, but especially some negative attention. I relate this experience to a difficult period of time that I experienced as an athlete and how I came out of that by putting a point on the board! Find out more about our viral video (on TikTok), and what "putting a point on the board" can do for your mental health and emotional wellbeing. Thanks for kicking it with me! -E
Hey guys! I recently had the opportunity to speak with several CEOs in our "hybrid sport" space and learned SO much. One major takeaway for me was the difference between brands that focus exclusively on digital and those that have focused exclusively on the physical. Tune in to learn what all that means and how we are taking that in stride to help materialize Kickit. Thanks for joining and I look forward to seeing you on the next episode! Let's Kickit! -E
On this Episode, I share why being told to "be patient" has always rubbed me the wrong way. It's frustrating to hear that because there's nothing you can do with it. My good friend Caleb Welborn gave me an alternative that has broadened my perspective and enabled me to execute in a healthier way. Stop telling people to "be patient"! Listen to this episode for a more constructive approach. One that inherently requires patience, but in a way that encourages effort, failure, and perseverance! If you know someone that needs to hear this, I hope you'll pass it along. Thanks for Kicking it with me! -E
In this episode, I share not one, but THREE golden nuggets. The theme: "In order to be visible, you have to be shareable, yet, in order to be shareable, you have to be visible." One of the owners of 433, Wannahaves, and Balr. shared with me their simple secret ingredient in becoming the top soccer social media channel in the world with over 1 billion organic views per month. WARNING: It's not easy to do. The importance of being shareable. What others say about you matters more than what you say about yourself. Thanks for kicking it with me! If you found value in this and it made you think... maybe your friend who's working on problems will find some value in it too! :) Share it and let's build together. -E
In this episode I tackle two topics: How the title of a "Fast Growing Startup" doesn't serve us in our ultimate mission How having all the "bells and whistles" can slow progress and disconnect us from our community. These are two themes that have become ever-present this year as we continue to zero in on our purpose and connect more with our customers. Thanks for listening! If you liked this episode, I hope you'll subscribe and tune in for these weekly casual updates. -Eli
On this episode I share the challenge that took me over 4 years to identify... and how that realization is informing our strategy for winning over some of the top rising professional soccer players in the world! In summary; professional athletes have fun too!
In this episode, I dive into a problem that no one is a stranger to... the problem of paralysis by over-analysis. We are all guilty of having big ideas and not making progress, and in so many areas of our lives, we solved that problem before... This is just another reminder and another application for a tactical way on how to climb that Mount Everest sized goal of yours! Thank you to all of my friends and family who've been reaching out and collaborating with me along this journey. You are helping me make these breakthroughs and we are building this, "One More Game" at a time. Let's Kickit! -E
On this episode, I reveal a discovery that a lot of doubtful moments and hard times helped me to realize. I discovered my superpower! As a young entrepreneur that has recently interacted with many older, seasoned and successful people -- knowing what my superpower is rooted in has been empowering. Hint: it comes from the market... Thanks for tuning in and joining me on this journey!
On this episode, I share how visiting my friends Steffi and Colin who work on a 90-foot yacht, reminded me of a lesson I learned that helped me achieve my goals in soccer. If you can see it, you can believe it... and then you can achieve it!
After years and YEARS of asking myself for the answers to "why I'm not ready" or "why I shouldn't start a podcast" and looking to my external environment i.e. the growth stage of my business or the age of the typical successful business owner to affirm my BS answers I was coming up with... I finally asked myself the right question: "Why can't those reasons actually be the reason I SHOULD start one... and the reason I should win!" My takeaway from this new question that I discovered... asking the right questions could be the key to unlocking our voice and our potential! You may not be ready to ask those questions yet, but if you continue thinking and poking at your "justifications" and (false) beliefs, you may come across that question. I challenge you to ask yourself, why can't those justifications AKA excuses, be your actual reasons for why you should! Thanks to my incredibly supportive partner for pushing me to share this message. - E
I recently had the opportunity to reconnect with a friend and youth soccer club director here in Chicago, Andreas Papakostas. On the call he suggested that it doesn't matter if you have the best products in the world... what matters are the people you have behind them. I found this insightful and wanted to share my thoughts on why! Tune in to hear my quick take.
