Gregg Donaldson :: Church planting

Galatians 3 teaches that New Testament Christians are set free from the Old Testament Law's system of works and curses, because Jesus redeemed us on the cross.

What was the purpose of the Old Testament Law of Moses and how does it affect us as Christians today?

Solomon's final conclusion in Ecclesiastes shows us that God alone is able to satisfy the human heart.

Solomon's life, as depicted in Ecclesiastes, teaches us important lessons about living with purpose.

Ecclesiastes points out the limits of physical life and teaches us to live with eternity in mind.

Ecclesiastes teaches us God's design for human life and how we should order our priorities.

The book of Ecclesiastes feels depressing, but it is included in the canon of Scripture for a reason and it confronts one of life's biggest questions: What's the Point?

We need to understand our moment in history, and choose to live wisely and purposefully in the here and now.

Every season of life - from birth to old age, is held in God's hand - He carries us, guides us and makes everything beautiful in its time.

Redeem the season of Christmas and share it's true purpose in the midst of our culture's wasteful commercialism.

God's timing is perfect - the birth of Jesus came at the perfect moment in history - and God is just as intentional with His timing in our individual lives.

The blood of Jesus speaks of mercy, forgiveness, victory and belonging - even in the here and now.

The blood of Jesus is unique, reliable evidence which brings new birth and transformation.

The blood of Jesus reveals His emotional, passionate and willing love for us.

Jesus' humanity shines through His precious blood, which brings our redemption.

Whole-hearted faith in Jesus and in His Word allows us to receive God's grace.

Generosity is a conduit of grace - a channel for God's blessings to flow into and out of our lives.

Thankfulness benefits our relationships with God and people, improves our mental and emotional well-being, and it invites God's grace into our lives.

Valuing, respecting and esteeming others because of God, not human merit, is the first "Pillar of Grace" - an attitude that positions us to receive God's unearned favour.

We live in a world where bad things happen. Is it God's will when tragedies happen? Does everything happen for a reason? Or is there another explanation? This week, Gregg answers these important questions that arose during our "Underfoot" sermon series. Catch up on the whole series now!

As Christians, we are already victorious but we still need to wrestle with sin, sickness and death.

The victory that Jesus won will only be fully manifest at the end of time and we need to learn how to live in this in-between time.

Once we understand that Jesus has defeated the power of death, we can live by faith in His resurrection and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Do your priorities line up with God's priorities? The "nations" and "the ends of the earth" are a far more valuable inheritance than any millionaire's windfall you may receive.

Jesus defeated Satan, sin and death, but the Church is called to apply that victory in the world.

We need to understand the progression of Jesus' work - past, present and future - to avoid spiritual frustration or error.

What has Jesus already accomplished and what is He still doing? What is our role as Christians in Jesus' mission?

How do we, as a body of people, get yoked together in order to achieve God's purpose?

David's army of mighty men teaches us about our role as Christians today.

David's life broadens our understanding of law and judgment, and teaches us to appreciate God's grace.

David's reign as king is an example of leadership that reflects God's heart.

David's story teaches us about the effects of sin and answers the question: "If I'm forgiven, why do I still suffer consequences?"

The story of David is raw and real and it teaches us that God warns us about sin because He loves us, not to restrict us.

Understanding David's Tabernacle helps us grasp New Testament worship, access to God and the Church's mission to the nations.

Jesus was surprised by the great faith of a Roman centurion and used him as an example of faith for us to follow.

Abraham didn't waver through unbelief - his life was a journey of growing faith, and we are instructed to walk in his steps of faith.

Even tiny faith has tremendous power - the quality of our faith is more important than the size of our faith.

Faith is the key to receiving, pleasing and connecting with God and enables us to receive His power.

Faith plays a surprisingly central and primary role in the Christian life and is essential for salvation.

Looking at the historical significance of the Holy Spirit as the promised gift of the Father, and tracing the journey of God's Spirit from creation to restoration.

The Holy Spirit is the one gift specifically referred to as the Promised Gift of the Father and as such it is essential for us to understand and to take action on this important gift.

David's example of waiting patiently in the years before he became king show us the importance of patience and faith in inheriting God's promises.

David and his followers experienced distress, discontent and debt, but they overcame with faith, honour, unity and worship.

The key to King David's greatness was his understanding of covenant, which led him to being called 'a man after God's own heart.'

David's faith and trust in God allowed him to overcome the giant, Goliath. We can overcome our difficulties in the same way.

King David is a major Biblical figure, second only to Jesus in the number of chapters dedicated to him. The source of his power was a private power that was later revealed in public.

Christians are called to remain in the world, but not conform to its values. Jesus teaches us how to balance love for people while rejecting the world's values.

Jesus' final words on the cross provide deep insights into His mission, suffering, and love.

If we see the crucifixion by faith, as Abraham did, we can have his JOY and His obedient FAITH.

As amazing as it sounds, we can be friends with God, and we can learn from the examples of Moses, Abraham and David in the Old Testament.

Offenses will come. Building stronger friendships involves resolving conflicts.
