Using an example from nature, Jesus exhorts his disciples to see clearly the signs of the times and respond with faithfulness to God. (Lectionary #507) November 28, 2025 - Cathedral Rectory - Superior, WI Fr. Andrew Ricci - www.studyprayserve.com
Rev. Cyril A. Stevens – Sermon 1027A recorded on October 13, 1985 teaching from Matthew 16:1-28 – You Know How to Interpret the Appearance of the Sky but You Cannot Interpret the Signs of the Times. Pastor Cyril A. Stevens revolves around the idea that people are adept at interpreting natural signs like the weather,…
What Time Is It? Signs Of The Times!!Scripture References:Matthew 24:42 & 44Matthew 24:1-5Exodus 32:1-5Key Points:1. The world is constantly looking for people, place or thing to worship, including false messiahs, but the Word of God will prove them all to be liars.Matthew 24:6-11Matthew 7:15-202. False prophets are a dime a dozen, however when we study the Bible for ourselves we can decifer the information we are given from brother sister or cousin.Matthew 24:12-25Revelation 13:11-183. Seeing is believing, so many will take the mark and keep going, but for all who do, they will spend forever regretting.Matthew 24:26-444. We watch the news, we watch movies, we watch videos on our phones, but don't forget to stay ready and watch for the rapture and save youself from 3 1/2 years of the Antichrist disasters.Matthew 24:45-51
In this sobering and soul-searching message, Pastor Karl dives deep into Matthew 5:17–48, where Jesus declares that He came not to abolish the Law but to fulfill it—and then raises the bar of righteousness far beyond anything the scribes and Pharisees ever imagined.Through six piercing examples—anger that murders the heart, lust that commits adultery in the mind, casual divorce, manipulative oaths, retaliation, and hatred disguised as justice—Jesus exposes the truth we all try to avoid: outward obedience is never enough. God judges the heart. Every single one of us stands guilty before His perfect standard.Yet the bad news is meant to drive us to the best news. Pastor Karl powerfully unpacks how Jesus' command in verse 48—“You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect”—is not a cruel impossible demand, but the very reason the Son of God came. We cannot achieve the righteousness God requires, so God freely gives it to us through faith in Christ. Jesus took our unrighteousness and imputes His perfect righteousness to all who repent and trust Him.A hard-hitting, heart-exposing sermon that leaves no room for self-righteousness, but ends with the liberating joy of the gospel: guilty sinners can be clothed in the very righteousness of God and stand before Him as if we had never sinned. SIGNS OF THE TIMES The "signs of the times" can be frightening. Violence, division, warfare, government shutdowns, corporate layoffs leave us reeling. The "signs of the times" can leave us feeling helpless, sure that there is nothing that can be done. The "signs of the times" can make us passive, hoping someone else will deal with the problems. The "signs of the times" are passing away. People of faith are called to live and be "signs of the new age" inaugurated in Christ and his death and resurrection.

Send us a textWhat if the greatest spiritual danger isn't outside the church but seated within it? We open the Scriptures to make a hard case: the “falling away” Paul warns about in 2 Thessalonians 2 is not a rumor, and the man of sin doesn't need a rebuilt temple to deceive. He targets the temple that matters most—the people of God. From there we trace how fear, vague headlines, and religious spectacle can pull sincere people off center when they lose their love for truth. We walk slowly through Paul's argument to steady anxious hearts. Christ's return will not be secret or questionable; it will be unmistakable. Before that day, apostasy rises and the lawless one emerges “with all power, signs, and lying wonders.” That's the trap: visible displays that enthrall the senses but starve the soul. We contrast undeniable biblical miracles—shriveled hands restored, the dead raised—with today's ambiguous performances and hype. The aim isn't to mock the supernatural but to prize what heaven calls the greatest wonder: a sinner saved by grace. When God grants repentance and faith, He overturns our nature, and that is a miracle no stage can counterfeit. We also challenge a popular timeline. The Bible knows nothing of a discrete seven year tribulation period carved from Daniel's seventy weeks, and the kingdom of God is already present in Christ's reign. That reframing puts the emphasis where Scripture does: enduring faith, daily humility, and a discerning love for God's Word. We urge practical steps—cling to Christ each day, repent quickly, cultivate Scripture hunger, and use your voice to witness in ordinary spaces. Strong delusion comes upon those who refuse to love the truth; a warm heart for the Word will keep you when signs impress and crowds cheer. If this study sharpened your discernment, share it with a friend, subscribe for more Bible‑anchored episodes, and leave a review to help others find the show. In this episode of the Cindy Stewart Podcast, Cindy explores the concept of "Signs of the Times" through a biblical lens, drawing from scriptures in Malachi, Amos, and Luke. She discusses how signs—whether miraculous, prophetic, or circumstantial—are meant to point us toward Jesus and help us discern God's movement in our lives and the world. Cindy reflects on the 400 years of silence between the Old and New Testaments, the fulfillment of prophecy through John the Baptist and Jesus, and the importance of stewarding prophetic words, even when their fulfillment may be for future generations. Cindy also addresses the current spiritual climate, highlighting both challenges and remarkable moves of God, such as widespread revivals among young people and a surge in new believers. She encourages listeners to maintain a heavenly perspective, recognize the signs of God's activity, and embrace the messiness of a great spiritual harvest. The episode concludes with a call to prayer, discernment, and readiness to participate in what God is doing, reminding listeners that each person has a unique role in this season of transformation and revival. Discerning the Signs of the Times
Send us a textIf you can feel the cultural pressure tightening, you're not imagining it. We walk straight into the hard question most of us avoid: will we live half in the world and half in the kingdom, or will we stand when it costs us comfort, approval, and ease? This conversation isn't about fear; it's about clarity, courage, and a deeper love for Jesus that grows stronger under strain. We start by naming what's in front of us: a rising tide of apostasy and an alarming comfort with compromise. Rather than counting church services or tallying quiet times, we get honest about the only metric that matters—do we love Christ, or do we love our sin more? From there we look to a surprising anchor: twelve-year-old Jesus saying, “I must be about my Father's business.” That single sentence becomes a compass for modern discipleship. We trace how his sinless, willing obedience secured reconciliation for sinners, and how gratitude—not guilt—fuels a resilient faith that can weather mockery, loneliness, and the subtle pressure to tone it down.Along the way, we challenge the myths of checklist holiness and address the sobering reality that some pushback will come from people who call themselves Christians. We talk about reading the signs of the times with the same skill we forecast the weather, practicing self-examination before correcting others, and choosing a way of life that keeps your heart warm toward God when the crowd is cold. You'll leave with a clear picture of what it means to be set apart without becoming self-righteous, courageous without becoming combative, and focused without becoming brittle. If this resonates, share it with a friend who needs courage, subscribe for more thoughtful conversations, and leave a review to help others find the show. Then tell us: what will you change today to be about the Father's business?Support the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!
Send us a textWhat if the deepest blessing isn't proximity to power or spectacle, but quiet fidelity to God's word? We walk through Luke 11, where a woman praises Mary and Jesus redirects the moment: “Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.” That single turn reframes honor, obedience, and what God calls “blessed.” From there, we tackle Jesus' hard line on sign-seeking and why the hunger for wonders can mark an “evil generation.”We unpack the Sign of Jonah and how Jesus connects Jonah's three days in the fish to his own death and resurrection. Along the way, we explore the true purpose of biblical signs and wonders: to authenticate the messenger and confirm the message. Moses before Pharaoh, Jesus among the crowds, and the reports to John the Baptist all serve one end—show who speaks for God and confirm that the message is true. If the resurrection doesn't convince, nothing else will. That conviction resets the modern obsession with miracles, tongues, and spectacle, and invites us back to Scripture as our sure foundation. We also compare responses across history: the Queen of Sheba honoring Solomon, Nineveh repenting at Jonah's preaching, and our response to One greater than Solomon and Jonah. If Christ reigns now as Lord of Lords, how should we live? We press into practical, boots-on-the-ground discipleship: guard the word, move from milk to solid food, love your neighbor, and confess Christ in public without shame. Healing, if it comes, is a gift. Hope, because of the empty tomb, is a certainty. The greatest sign has already been given, and it is enough. If this resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend who's wrestling with doubt or chasing the next miracle, and leave a review to help others find thoughtful, Scripture-centered conversations.Support the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!

This sermon on Matthew 24:1–14 centers on Jesus' teaching about the end times, emphasizing readiness, endurance, and mission over fear or speculation. The message opens by reminding believers that time is running out on God's heavenly clock—Jesus is coming back, judgment is certain, and Heaven and Hell are real. While people debate how and when Christ will return, the real focus should be living faithfully and urgently in the present. Jesus' prophecy about the destruction of the Temple was fulfilled, confirming that His future warnings about deception, war, disaster, persecution, and apostasy will also come to pass. Believers are cautioned not to be deceived by false teachers or discouraged by global chaos, but to stand firm in faith, endure to the end, and stay on mission—sharing the gospel with compassion in a world growing colder in love. The sermon ends with a heartfelt altar call, urging listeners to repent, realign with God, and take practical steps of obedience. The takeaway is clear: the end times aren't meant to create fear but fuel faith, perseverance, and action—because until Christ returns, we have work to do.

Click here for more on this topic and other free resources - https://www.drjimrichards.com Every day, signs are unfolding right before our eyes. The question is: Why don't we recognize what they mean? In last week's message, we discovered that we are responsible for understanding the signs of the times. Proverbs 25:2 tells us, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.” The original Hebrew reveals something powerful about the verse: God is not trying to hide His truth from us. On the contrary, He longs to reveal His goodness and deliver us from danger. When truth seems hidden, it is often our own hearts that keep us from seeing what is plainly before us. Take Pharaoh, for example. When the Scriptures say God hardened his heart, the Hebrew indicates that it was Pharaoh's own pride and fear of losing power that blinded him to God's message. In the same way, many today close their hearts and miss what God is showing them. But God wants us to see. When He prepared to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, He asked, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing?” (Genesis 18:17). Why? Because Abraham was God's friend, and God knew Abraham would use this revelation to guide his children and bless the world. This week, I'd like to share with you some powerful keys to help you recognize and understand the times we are living in. Don't miss this message—it could change the way you see everything happening around you. Watch the full video this week on YouTube!

The Underground Lounge After Hours turned all the way up with special guest Donnivin Jordan, serving up a mix of hilarious stories, unfiltered opinions, and the kind of candid talk you only get late at night. From the jump, Donnivin had the crew laughing as they compared old reality dating shows, swapped outrageous pet stories, and debated everything from sports fandom to whether or not dogs belong in the bed. Things got personal fast, Donnivin shared why he's dating with marriage in mind, his deal breakers, and why he's perfectly fine not watching sports anymore. From there, the conversation took a hard left into the wild: funeral strippers for a beloved Frenchie, the chaos of owning cats, and some eyebrow-raising “After Hours” bedroom confessions. They got brutally honest about intimacy boundaries, from playful booty smacks to unexpected freaky requests, like splits in the middle of a hookup, and everyone weighed in on whether certain acts were a hard “no” or just situational. The laughs didn't stop there. They dove into hypothetical scenarios like what they'd do if they woke up in the opposite sex's body for 24 hours, shared personal toxic traits, and revealed what they think their strongest qualities are in relationships. Add in tequila talk, debates over whether expensive bottles are worth it, and stories about crazy wedding receptions, and you've got the perfect recipe for an After Hours episode that's equal parts wild, hilarious, and way too real.
