Three hundred episodes. Wow. When Anchored by the Sword first began, I never imagined we'd reach this milestone — yet here we are! In today's special episode, I'm taking a moment to reflect on all God has done through this ministry and this podcast. From the early days of recording to seeing it now reach listeners across the world (with one of the top countries being at the very top of my bucket list to visit someday!), I'm in awe of how far He's brought us.This podcast has opened doors I never expected — including opportunities to speak, connect with incredible guests, and even appear as a movie extra! None of this would have been possible without God's guidance and you — the community who continues to listen, share, and support the mission of helping people find hope and freedom in Christ.Join me as we celebrate what God has done through these 300 episodes — and as we look ahead with expectation for what He'll do in the next 300.Here's to staying anchored in Him, one story at a time.

She shares how easily we start believing lies about our worth, purpose, and identity. From the pressure to “have it all together” to the quiet voice that whispers “you're missing out” or “you're not enough,” the conversation dives deep into how these thoughts take root — and how God's truth brings freedom. Through honest stories and truth, Erica reminds us that you are not enough — but Jesus is enough. God hasn't asked us to do everything; He's gifted us to play our part in the body of Christ. Welcome to the premiere of Anchored, a 7-episode series from This Redeemed Life with Marian Jordan Ellis, created to supplement Marian's new Bible study, Anchored: The Life and Letters of the Apostle Peter. In Episode 1, Marian sits down with Kandi Gallaty (Long Hollow Church; author of Disciple Her and The Practice of Prayer) to unpack how Peter's story shapes our everyday discipleship in a culture full of pressure, persecution, and confusion.Together they trace Peter's call to “leave the nets” (Matthew 4), his transformation from impulsive fisherman to bold apostle, and his letters that name us “sojourners and exiles” (1 Peter). Kandi shares practical rhythms for abiding in Christ—daily Bible engagement, prayer, and doing life in small-group discipleship—and offers courage to obey when the Spirit prompts, to lay down rival loves, and to multiply by making disciples who make disciples (Matthew 28).If you've wondered how to stay steady in the storm, this conversation will help you anchor your life to Jesus—to know Him, love Him, and obey Him, even when it's costly.Subscribe, share with a friend, and check the show notes for links to the Anchored study and ways to partner with This Redeemed Life. “Stand firm in the true grace of God” (1 Peter 5:12).Order your copy of Anchored today https://a.co/d/h7McTiyThis Redeemed Life is listener supported ministry and podcast. In week 1 of Anchored: A Journey Through Romans 8, Pastor Scott Worthington preached from Romans 8:1–11. As followers of Jesus, we've been freed by God from the penalty of sin! But that doesn't mean we won't still struggle with it. In the struggle against sin, we can easily get discouraged and feel condemned. But, the Bible says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus! We can get back up when we fall because God is continuing to free us from the power of sin—and when He returns, He will free us from the presence of sin. If you've been feeling defeated or discouraged in your struggle against sin, this sermon is for you.

From Secret Knowledge to Embodied Love: Dismantling Gnosticism's Grip on Modern Faith

Madison Church

What if the quiet crisis in modern Christianity isn't doubt, but distraction—a version of faith that sounds right and changes little? We go straight at the subtle Gnosticism that still haunts church culture today: the lure of secret knowledge, the shrug toward the physical world, and the fantasy of escape. Then we lay it beside Paul's charge in Romans 12 to offer our bodies as living worship and James's blunt verdict that faith without works isn't weak—it's dead. The result is a practical roadmap for moving from belief to embodiment, from thoughts and prayers to presence and action.Together, we unpack how transformation begins with a renewed mind and shows up in ordinary choices: honest work, patient relationships, quiet generosity, and courage when comfort beckons. We talk about resisting conformity to hustle culture's metrics—money, output, image—and embracing a life that makes no sense apart from God. Along the way, we share concrete next steps: start small and specific, see everyday tasks as altars, draw near to pain instead of outsourcing compassion, and let grace be the source of your doing so burnout doesn't win. The heartbeat is simple: worship is not a playlist or a Sunday hour; it's how we live.Anchored in the incarnation—love with skin on—we remember that Jesus didn't send a concept; he showed up. Communion becomes more than a ritual; it's our reminder that grace is tangible and our invitation to become tangible too. If you're ready to move beyond privatized belief and let the gospel be visible through your hands and feet, this conversation will meet you where you are and nudge you forward. Let's Chat!Rain doesn't rage here—it remembers. We open DRAC with a cold open that threads a storm-soaked childhood to a glass-walled lab where blood refuses to obey. Dante Roman Orellan Creed carries a mark from a dream he can't explain and a gift he never asked for. As numbers start repeating and grief reshapes his days, the line between creator and creation blurs: self‑resurrection models mirror old sigils, machines hum like a second heartbeat, and light begins to bow instead of blind. We move through a taut blend of gothic thriller and bioethics as Dante meets Elra Vale, a geneticist whose calm feels like déjà vu. Their work on immunologic regeneration cracks open a deeper pattern: science and omen speaking a shared language. When a hospital blackout turns into a quiet miracle—glass flexing, power grids syncing, and a crowned symbol pulsing across a monitor—Dante learns that control isn't domination; it's conducting chaos into rhythm. The story widens from origin myth to leadership manual: resonance over force, accountability over theatrics, pattern over panic.Anchored by a clear, punchy monologue, we offer five reflection questions designed for real shadow work: the noise you use to avoid yourself, the story that protects you, the inherited beliefs you need to retire, the emotions that surface without distraction, and the parts of your darkness that deserve understanding, not punishment. This is a thriller with a backbone of practical insight—identity, transformation, embodiment, and the courage to pace a room when everything wants you to sprint. If this arc grips you, tap follow, leave a quick review to help others find the show, and share this episode with someone who needs a nudge toward their own awakening. What does your darkness remember about you?"True mastery is found in the details. The way you handle the little things defines the way you handle everything."

Can you parent with grace and discipline at the same time? Absolutely. In this episode, Don and Suzanne Manning explain how to combine God's favor (grace) with training to standards (discipline) to build self-control, connection, and freedom in your home. You'll learn the difference between firm vs. harsh, how to respond not react, and a simple “same-side of the line” visual that moves you from power struggles to partnership. The conversation includes empathy that doesn't excuse behavior, practical scripts for correction, and a preview of emotional regulation tools for “meltdown moments.” Anchored in Hebrews 12:6 and Galatians 5:1, this episode equips you to set clear boundaries and keep a gentle tone—so your kids actually learn. Key takeaways: Grace (favor) + discipline (training) lead to true freedom and self-control. Be firm, not harsh—respectful tone makes correction stick. Use “Help me understand…” to pair empathy with consequences. Stand shoulder-to-shoulder with your child and point them to God's standard. Prioritize long-term connection over short-term compliance. Alec and Nick complete a series of discussions on foundational music discourses — classical music, sound systems, and in this episode: musical temperment. Defining temperement as the organization of the acoustic harmonic series, applied in performance, engineering and musical epistemology, the conversation expands on historical nuances in the aesthetic, technological and cultural implications of this evolving theoretical construction over time. Anchored with a comparison of J.S. Bach's equal tempered proof-of-concept — “Well-Tempered Clavier” (1722) — and LaMonte Young's 1964 rebuttal in just intonation, “The Well-Tuned Piano” (1964), the discussion extends the broad history of temperement into the realm contemporary music and inquires into the affect of digital sound production on this discourse. Topics include: Pythagoras, autotune, Vincenzo Galelei, Harry Partch, John Cage's works for prepared piano, the evolution of the western orchestra, Indian classical music, Noise, and more.

Send us a textCorie dedicates this episode to the late matriarch “Mama Doreen,” whose Girl Guides guard-of-honour in a packed Tacarigua church sparked a bigger conversation: the crisis of community and how strong institutions can pull Trinidad & Tobago back from its apparent moral decline. Anchored by memories from the funeral and repass—hymns, kaiso, and hard truths—Corie argues that movements like Girl Guides, Brownies, Scouts, Cadets, school bands, and the Police Band don't just “nice up” events; they form citizens, bridge generations, and repair trust between youth and the State. We salute bandmaster Anthony “Mr” Prospect and explore what Independence parades actually mean, why cancelling them matters, and how pageantry signals “we are us.” We touch this year's National Awards, asking how we value cultural workers next to sport and politics. In the music lane: Leon “Smooth” Edwards' iconic Panorama moments; why brass belongs in our sound; and a canon defence of Shorty—“Endless Vibrations,” “Om Shanti,” and the unfinished business of credit. There's a lively detour into Scorch's 101 soca list—criteria, crowd reaction vs cultural impact—and a real-life car-ride debate about youth music vs parents' music. We also reason through police-in-schools optics, state-of-emergency fatigue, and how uniformed performance (yes, send the Police Band into communities playing the youths' songs) can soften hardened lines. It's gratitude, history, and kaiso—offered for Mama, inspired by the Girl Guides, and focused on rebuilding the institutions that can steady a wobbling society. Joel explores why staying anchored to Christ and the new covenant is essential for our spiritual health and leadership as Christian men.

Today is the day! My book, End Emotional Outsourcing, which I've poured my heart and science-nerd brain into, is officially out. But getting it into the world depends on what happens this week. This isn't about the money. It's about getting these life-changing words into the hands of someone who needs them. This book challenges the "tough-it-out" messages we're constantly fed. I've created a new language around codependency, perfectionism, and people-pleasing, calling it emotional outsourcing. Rooted in accessible nervous system science and my own story as a queer Latina immigrant, this book is about coming home to yourself.Your order sends a message that voices like mine matter and that we need more love, more care, and more science in this world. And when you order 10 or more copies, you'll get a free six-week live course with me! Plus, all orders are entered into raffles for amazing prizes like one-on-one coaching, breathwork sessions, and a spot in my six-month course, Anchored. By helping me carry this book, you're helping us show the world that cruelty doesn't get the final say - love does.Order the book here: https://beatrizalbina.com/book/
