In this episode, we address the critiques of a popular Instagram influencer and podcaster. She wanted to interview us a few months ago but then decided not to publish the episode because her pastor disagreed with us. We walk through each of her criticisms and address them biblically. We close the episode with a look at the exciting additions to New Heart Theology in the coming weeks. In this episode, we talk about identifying the desires of the Spirit by relating our desires to what Paul calls the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5.22-26. We walk through each of the nine aspects of the fruit and what they look like in our lives.Remember that fruit is singular, so the believer will display all of these virtues in his or her life.
In Galatians 5:16-18 Paul lays out the battle within the believer--our desires of the flesh are constantly at war against our desires of the Spirit. But how do we know what's what? How can we decipher a desire of the flesh from a desire of the Spirit? In this episode, we look at Galatians 5:19-21 to help us identify the desires of the flesh. We go through all fifteen works of the flesh and talk about the desires that feed those actions.
By now, if you've been keeping up with our show, your understanding of the heart is probably changing. In this episode, we wrestle through some of the more popular Christian heart cliches and discuss whether or not they can be used accurately or perhaps if a change of phrase might be appropriate.
In this episode, we tackle the monumental problem of escapism. The scariest aspect of this debilitating sin is that it only worsens. It's a prison that Satan and forces use to render believers ineffective for Jesus.Tune in to find out how God has provided us with a way to combat this depleting tendency.Instagram: @newhearttheologyTwitter: @NewHeartPodcastWebsite: www.newhearttheology.comContact: info@newhearttheology.com
In this episode, we address the passage where New Heart Theology began, Galatians 5:16-18. Ezekiel 36 puts the "new heart" in New Heart Theology, but our passage for today was responsible for the first ideas directed toward a more excellent way of understanding the internal workings of the person and the believer's battle against sin.We define key terms in our theology, such as Spirit, flesh, and desire. We talk about what the battle between the flesh and the Spirit looks like within the believer. We also look at what it means to be led by the Spirit and the idea that Christians are no longer under the law.Instagram: @newhearttheologyTwitter: @NewHeartPodcastWebsite: www.newhearttheology.comContact: info@newhearttheology.com
This episode discusses the new heart promised in Ezekiel 36.25-27. What will that look like? How do these truths impact the lives of believers?
This could be the episode everyone's been waiting for. Here, we tackle Jeremiah 17.9, which says, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?" We want to know who he's talking to, and who he's talking about. Does this passage apply to New Covenant believers who have been transformed by the Spirit? We answer all of these questions and more in this brief thirty minute episode.

In this episode, we address the prevailing view in modern evangelicalism that believers can unknowingly worship idols causing Jesus to lose His place on the throne of their hearts. We do not believe that is true and will make our case in this episode. The Stone and the Glory by Dr. Greg Harris
In this episode, we answer the question, "Is all sin idolatry?" The idea here is to challenge the current evangelical culture's tendency to label all sins as idolatry. We offer a biblical perspective of what true idolatry looked like and what the apostles had in mind when they spoke of idolatry. Is Idolatry the New Sin, by Carleton Wynne

Have you ever wanted to know why you do what you do and think what you think? In an introductory fashion, this episode explores one of God's most fabulous creations, the mind. We're going to explore in-depth the idea that we have a singular mind that consists of two metaphysical substances.
In this episode, I give a (more pointed than usual) defense for why New Heart Theology isn't Gnosticism. I go through a brief overview of what Gnostics believed and then go through their seven heretical beliefs that the church fathers rejected and then compare them to NHT to see how we stack up.
This story is where it all began. We hope you enjoy this biblical theology of New Heart Theology that traces the new heart from Genesis to our resurrections.
This episode features my cohost, Grant Forrester, who covers the final point of New Heart Theology, our glorified bodies to come. He talks about Christ's glorified body, what to expect in our glorified bodies, and why this doctrine is vital for believers in their battle against sin.
In this episode, we cover what New Heart Theology teaches about the sanctification process. Now that we have laid the foundation for who we are and why we battle sin, we finally get to talk about what the Bible says about how we battle sin. We'll explain anthropology and metaphysics, as usual, and then also offer some practical steps to training toward righteousness.
In this episode, we look at what it means to be indwelled and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
In this episode, we talk about what regeneration is and its effects on the soul. We also debunk some common myths and well-intentioned misnomers about the state of the regenerated soul.Regeneration: Born again, resurrected, cleansed, new creation
In this episode, we cover the second part of our second point as we discuss the corrupted body. The goal of this is to discover the pre-regenerate condition of man, but as you will see, the pre-regenerate body is no different than the regenerate body because God's work at salvation is solely on the soul.
In this episode, we cover the first part of our second point, The Myopic Soul in a Corrupted Body. We look at what the state of the unregenerate (or unsaved) soul and discuss both its function and its lacking. We also talk about why words such as dead and blind may not always be the best words to describe the lost soul.
This episode kicks off our first of the five points of New Heart Theology. We address what we call the "holistic duality of man," meaning that man is one person made of two substances. We layout a biblical foundation for this doctrine and talk briefly about the implications.Instagram: @newhearttheologyTwitter: @NewHeartPodcastWebsite: www.newhearttheology.comContact: info@newhearttheology.com
