Send us a textWhat kind of Christmas season are you having this year, friends? Is it a Godless secular Christmas or a supernatural one? Is this Christmas one of feelings, warmth, drinking some spicy drink and getting wasted, a little high, or even drunk? One where our awe comes from materialism; the latest gadget, toy, gift and so on.Or, Is this Christmas season a supernatural one - one which celebrates an Eternal, All-powerful God, the intelligent mind behind this gigantic cosmos, this massive universe we live in. The One who created us with such amazing design and intricacy in His image, to reflect His character, His goodness, His love and His integrity. This mighty God whobbeviadr of his love gor us chose to limit himself and be born of a peasant teenager called Mary in an obscure village in Palestine? When we think about how Mary became pregnant, where and how Jesus was born, how he immersed himself into human suffering in the 1st few hours of his life even surviving an attempt on his life, are we not awestruck? As human beings we are designed to be awestruck. The mountains, deserts, big cats in the zoo or safari parks etc But most importantly we are meant to be awestruck by the All-powerful God who does not cease to amaze us If we begin to imagine and consider all these things. When we begin to grasp the enormity of all these, awe begins to grow within us. God humbling himself to become a human being is a supernatural event - an awesome, awe-inspiring one. How have you satisfied or plan to satisfy this awe? Who are you awestruck by this Christmas? We continue to bring to prayer our brothers and sisters who have died especially Pedro, Syvester, Lydia and all our loved ones who have died. May God welcome them all into the peace of God's kingdom. Support the show
Biff's friend, Bert, is known for being a practical joker. Bert's sense of humor is a strength that has endeared him to many, but like most strengths, it has become his greatest weakness. Bert rarely allows for serious conversations, leaning heavily on verbal sparring through sarcasm and mocking, which always dominates the conversations. Being with Bert is like a competitive event, often putting others down in front of their peers. Happy Holidays and New Years fellow listeners. The boys hope you had a great 2025 and wish you a marvelous 2026. To start things off with a bang, Chris brought a disgusting Japanese gore film that is sure to push your buttons. Which film you say, why it's Women's Flesh My Red Guts. While it may not be Tumbling Dolls of Flesh (which he proposed as well), it was equally disgusting in many ways. Listening to this podcast is fine, but watching the movie may not be. I fully agree with the Booker Prize judges that FLESH is "singular" and "extraordinary." I can see why it won! I do, though, have a few arguments to make.

John 1 is a beautiful text for Christmas. It's about the Word, which means it's about Jesus, the Word made flesh. As we head into a new year, we have a new guest. Professor Justin Cloute from Wisconsin Lutheran College is our guest as we discuss the precious beginning of John's Gospel.

They're origin words that are a prophetic picture of the gospel: God doesn't love you from a distance, or through Jesus goggles. He loves us as part of Himself. We are one with the Triune God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. — John 1:14 Today is Christmas Day, on which most Christians mark the birth of Jesus over 2,000 years ago. While celebrations may vary, depending on cultures and family traditions, the central meaning of this day is clear. On this day we celebrate that the eternal Son of God, the Word through whom the creation was spoken into being, took on human flesh for our salvation. The Bible describes this event in terms of “dwelling.” Where you live makes a big difference: it determines the people you spend your time with, the things you invest your life in, and the way you look at the world. By coming to live among us in the person of Jesus Christ, God showed his commitment to dwell with the human race. God demonstrated that he would live among the quirks and even the sins of everyday people, that he would invest in the redemption of the world, and that the world could now be viewed as a place where God committed to be present.Maybe today you are gathering in a home with family or friends. As you look around, recognize that in Jesus' birth God has brought himself into a similar relationship of familiarity with all humanity. Jesus has made known to us the eternal Father and the fullness of his grace. Today we celebrate the Word, who dwells with us. Lord Jesus, Word of God from the beginning, we sing with joy because you became human for our sake. Proclaim to us the good news of the Savior who was born for sinners. Amen.

The Word became Flesh!
On this Christmas Day, we rejoice in the miracle of the Incarnation that the eternal Son of God took on human flesh and dwelt among us. In this episode, Dave Jenkins explains how the Incarnation reveals God's presence, grace, truth, and glory and why the manger ultimately points to the cross. Immanuel has come. Rejoice the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is with us. For more from Anchored in the Word visit: https://servantsofgrace.org/anchored-in-the-wordpage/

Christmas Eve Service 2025
St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Christian Church Lexington, Ma Podcast
Christmas is just a few days away! Many have done certain things to prepare, lights and decorations, sending out cards, baking, etc. But have we prepared our souls for the Birth of our Lord in the Flesh?Fr. Demetri offers a little exam too (image provided in this sermon) and asks everyone to take it to see how one may score.
“In the beginning was the Word…” As our Advent journey reaches its climax, St. John pulls back the curtain to reveal the deepest mystery of Christmas: the Child of Bethlehem is the eternal Word through whom all things were made. In part 12, the final installment of our special series connecting Old Testament prophecy to New Testament fulfillment, we move from manger scenes to cosmic glory. The true Light that shines in the darkness has come into the world; He pitches His tent among us, full of grace and truth, that from His fullness we might receive grace upon grace. The Rev. Jacob Hercamp, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Noblesville, IN, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study John 1:1–18. To learn more about Christ Lutheran, visit clc-in.org. This Advent series begins by covering the last Old Testament prophet, Malachi, and then spends twelve episodes alternating between Old Testament prophecy and New Testament fulfillment, tracing God's promises from Isaiah to the birth of Christ. The series explores Emmanuel's promise, the Davidic King, John the Baptist as forerunner, and reaches its climax with the Nativity. The final episodes examine the Suffering Servant, the shadow of the cross in Christ's infancy, Isaiah's Messianic mission statement, and John's declaration that "the Word became flesh." Thy Strong Word, hosted by Rev. Dr. Phil Booe, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church of Luverne, MN, reveals the light of our salvation in Christ through study of God's Word, breaking our darkness with His redeeming light. Each weekday, two pastors fix our eyes on Jesus by considering Holy Scripture, verse by verse, in order to be strengthened in the Word and be equipped to faithfully serve in our daily vocations.
