Before salvation, we were spiritually dead - incapable of responding to God despite all our religious efforts. Dr. John Neufeld explains regeneration as God's "heart transplant" that makes us spiritually alive. Using Acts 16:14, he shows how God creates a new nature within believers that produces five remarkable abilities: an inability to continue in sin, Christ-like love, power to overcome worldly pressures, protection from Satan, and genuine spiritual hunger.Making the Most of Your Salvation: In a world of endless technology, the opportunity for learning, communicating, and creating is at an all-time high. But for many of us, we don't take full advantage of all of the resources at our fingertips. We know that many of us aren't using technology to its full capacity, but did you know that many of us view our salvation in the same way? Join Dr. John Neufeld in the 10-message series, Making the Most of Your Salvation, as we learn about a sad reality that many Christians face: We don't appreciate all that our salvation has to offer us. All too often, we see salvation as something that is there, that we understand, but we don't take full advantage of. We go to church, we try to read the Bible, and we know that we're going to heaven when we die. But there are so many other benefits of salvation that have the power to revolutionize our lives!

He is also the Founder and Artistic Director of The Cumnock Tryst, now an integral part of the small East Ayrshire town which is still finding its identity amidst the economic challenges of a post-coal landscape. With this year's festival kicking off tomorrow, James discusses his reasons for setting up the Tryst in the first place - closely linked to his own early musical experiences, having grown up in the same town - and reflects on the profound impact the festival has had on the local community.-------------------The Cumnock TrystJames MacMillan-------------------Follow The Classical Circuit on InstagramDid you enjoy this episode? Was mir dabei geholfen hat? HEALTH NERDS. Over the last few months we have been focusing attention on the Spirit of God. We noted that in the Hebrew Scriptures, the Spirit of God is particularly seen in relation to creation, among Israel in the progression of her history, and with respect to Israel during the Messianic Kingdom. Then we turned our attention to what the New Testament Scriptures teach about the Spirit of God. First, we learned that the Spirit of God is a person. Second, we saw that, while there are angelic and human persons, the Spirit of God is a divine person. Then we looked at two ministries of the Spirit of God, the ministries of conviction, and of bearing witness of Messiah. In this message, we explore the Spirit of God's ministry of imparting life, eternal life. It is what is meant by being "born again" and "becoming a new creation" (John 3:3, 7; II Corinthians 5:17).This is also what is meant by regeneration (Titus 3:5). And the Spirit's ministry of regeneration comes to fruition by means of the word of God. Peter writes, "...since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God" (I Peter 1:23).James similarly states, "Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures" (James 1:18). The word of truth is of course a reference to the sacred Scripture that imparts life.YouTube: https://youtube.com/live/vECx3B9nQmwSend us a text

Regenerate, Don't Degenerate: Natural Habits for Energy, Detox & Longevity with Dr. Shirley Piccarreto

Healthy Mind, Healthy Life

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 19, 2025 22:21

On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty talks with Dr. Shirley Piccarreto—doctor of naturopathy and bestselling author of “Healthy, Lean, and Sexy at Any Age”—about practical ways women over 50 can rebuild energy, reduce inflammation, and feel stronger. Dr. Shirley shares routines that helped her recover after surgery: gentle detox practices, nutrient-dense morning smoothies, movement (yoga, walking, hiking), stress regulation through meditation, and mindset tools. We also discuss balancing “go” energy with rest, fitting wellness into a modern schedule, and the first small step to start regenerating today. About the guest  : Dr. Shirley Piccarreto is a naturopath and author who supports women 50+ through her Wise Woman of Wellness community. Drawing on three decades of practice and studies across Asia, she focuses on simple daily habits that nourish body and mind. Key takeaways: Regeneration is a choice powered by consistent inputs: nutrients, movement, sleep, stress regulation, and mindset. After medical interventions, start with gentle, short-term detox supports and hydration before rebuilding with whole-food nutrition. Low mood and low energy often track with inflammation and lifestyle load; address both physical inputs and life satisfaction. A simple morning routine—smoothie with whole-food boosters, supplements as needed, and brief meditation—keeps momentum. Movement can be phased back in: walking first, then strength and flexibility work like yoga to support joints and posture. Mindset matters: written affirmations, clear monthly goals, and a life plan help sustain behavior change. Practical “mini-resets” during busy weeks (sunlight, nature, play with pets, fiction breaks) reduce stress reactivity. Start small: choose one step today (e.g., a light, time-bound cleanse and daily walk) and stack wins weekly. Community and guidance improve adherence—structured programs and regular check-ins keep people consistent. Energy is influenced by what you do and how you feel about your life; aligning work, relationships, and health amplifies results. In this episode, Avis Kalfsbeek marks the final chapter of The Great Disfarmament—and the quiet rise of a different kind of power. As war tactics evolved from Cold War standoffs to post-9/11 surveillance and global contracting, the logic of control continued to infiltrate the land. Seeds were genetically modified, patented, and, in some cases, designed never to reproduce. Farmers were no longer growers but users—dependent on licensing, chemicals, and contracts. The soil was stripped. Sovereignty was sold. And the disfarmament, it seemed, was complete. Yet even as these systems tightened their grip, something ancient stirred beneath the surface. This episode honors the seed savers, the land listeners, and the quiet movements that began to push back. We meet Indigenous leader Winona LaDuke, whose work on food sovereignty and cultural memory reminds us that “food is medicine—not only for the body, but for the soul.” We also reflect through the lens of Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, who teaches that reciprocity, not ownership, defines our relationship with the earth. In a time of mechanized control, these voices call us to remember the seed not as a product, but as a promise. This is the story of regeneration and resistance— Of choosing ceremony over commodity, memory over monopoly, and kinship over control. Next, we begin Part II: The Great Disarmament.

__________________________ ||||| PERSONEN |||||

Sean Morrison, Ph.D., from the Children's Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern, investigates how stem cells function, regenerate, and interact with their surrounding environment in the bone marrow. His research reveals how leptin receptor-positive cells—key components of the bone marrow niche—regulate hematopoietic stem cell maintenance and regeneration, influence platelet production, and respond to physiological stress like pregnancy. Morrison uncovers a reciprocal relationship between these niche cells and peripheral nerves, showing that disrupting nerve signals impairs bone marrow recovery after chemotherapy or radiation. His work also links retrotransposon activation during pregnancy to increased red blood cell production, with implications for maternal health and transplant medicine. Unlocking your body's natural healing potential might be simpler than you think. Peptides—those tiny chains of amino acids that serve as your body's natural messengers—are revolutionizing how we approach wellness, weight management, healing, and even cognitive health.Unlike pharmaceutical medications that flood your system with foreign compounds, peptides work through precision signaling, telling your body exactly what to do without disrupting other functions. This targeted approach explains why they deliver remarkable benefits with minimal side effects. While many people now recognize peptides through weight loss treatments like Ozempic and Mounjaro (GLP-1 agonists), their potential extends far beyond shedding pounds. The real magic happens when peptides are strategically combined. For weight management, lower doses of GLP-1s paired with muscle-preserving and visceral fat-targeting peptides deliver healthier, more sustainable results than pharmaceutical megadoses. For healing, compounds like BPC-157 and TB500 work in concert to reduce inflammation while accelerating tissue repair—whether you're recovering from surgery, managing arthritis, or bouncing back from intense workouts. Growth hormone peptides restore what naturally diminishes with age, supporting everything from sleep quality to tissue regeneration. Perhaps most exciting are the cognitive peptides that cross the blood-brain barrier to potentially prevent neurodegenerative conditions and enhance mental performance. What makes peptide therapy truly revolutionary is its personalized approach. Through specialized assessments that analyze your specific health concerns, lifestyle, and goals, practitioners can now create customized peptide protocols tailored precisely to your needs. Club Plans & Personal Coaches: Adding An Edge? In this week's episode, host Richard Graves sits down with Daniel Booth, a performance coach who's worked inside elite teams (Watford FC, Ealing Trailfinders), across Olympic sprint programmes, and independently with top athletes, to unpack one of the hottest debates in high performance: Should athletes stick strictly to club schedules, or can personal trainers/physios/dietitians add an edge without adding risk? Drawing on experience from football, rugby, and Olympic sport, Daniel explains why tensions flare (mismatched philosophies, poor communication, asset ownership), what great collaboration looks like in the real world, and how high-performing organisations formalise outside support without losing control. What you'll learn * The real source of conflict between club performance/medical staff and external coaches, and how cross-sport thinking challenges “that's how we've always done it.” * A practical collaboration model: who shares what, when, and how (weekly data drops, post-match/flight recovery notes, and a single “central coordinator” to integrate inputs). * Risk vs. reward in load management: why living on the “edge” drives adaptation, and how to avoid double-loading athletes after intense sessions. * Contracts done right: how some teams formally write approved externals into player agreements and set clear, shared calendars. * International duty realities: why centralised models in rugby/cricket often outperform football's fragmented approach, and what football can copy now. * Case studies that translate: lessons from LeBron/Mancias and Mahomes/Stroop—how season-long regen blocks and role clarity reduce noise and improve availability. * Social media pitfalls: why chasing a “brand” erodes trust, and how word-of-mouth and discretion still win in elite environments. About Daniel Booth Daniel Booth is a performance coach with 10+ years' experience across elite football (Watford FC), rugby (including Ealing Trailfinders), and Olympic sprint programmes, as well as work with Warner Bros. Discovery. Now operating independently, he partners with clubs and national teams to deliver athlete-centred programming and is formally written into several Premiership rugby player contracts to act as the central performance coordinator, integrating club, country, and external inputs. Daniel's approach blends cross-sport best practice, honest communication, and low-ego, data-led decision-making focused on availability and longevity.
