Our conversation on attachment styles continues! This week, we're getting into disorganized attachment style, aka fearful avoidant. One of the reasons this style is so hard to understand is that it's rooted in contradictory desires—wanting something while simultaneously fearing it. It can be as confusing for the people with this attachment style as it is for the people in relationship with them. Holistic therapist and podcaster Hayden Rosato joins me to talk us through how this attachment style differs from anxious and avoidant, what beliefs come up for those with disorganized attachment, how it impacts relationships, and how we start the healing process. Looking for more episodes on attachment styles? Try episode 6—it's all about the anxious/avoidant relationship trap. Episode 95 is about avoidant attachment. You can also try any of these episodes—they're all about anxious attachment: episode 14, episode 88, and episode 89.Want to work with Remy? In this episode, we dive into Ayurveda's full guide to winter skin care. You'll learn what happens to the skin during early winter, how to identify signs of imbalance for your dosha type (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), and the internal and external practices that keep your skin hydrated, radiant, and resilient all season long. Mary Beth Berkoff, age 82, founded her own PR company in her late 50s—and she still knows how to spotlight what's good. Long before that, she was a teacher, an injury-prevention pioneer, and a public-affairs leader who helped pass Illinois's seatbelt and child-restraint laws. Those roles taught her resilience, resourcefulness, and, as she likes to say, that “if you can teach junior high students, you can do anything.”Today, that same spirit infuses her life at The Admiral at the Lake, a continuous care retirement community in Chicago, where her gift for connecting people enriches both her days and those around her.Widowed in recent years, Mary Beth says that loss has both challenged and affirmed the words she lives by: “There is always something good around the next corner… I don't stay defeated… I believe my life will continue to be great; I just need to do the work.”“There is no lonely where I live in community with other interesting and welcoming people.” - Mary Beth BerkoffConnect with Mary Beth: Email: mbberkoff@mac.com www.theadmiral.orgRecognizing the Age-Wise CollectiveWomen Over 70 is a proud member of the Age-Wise Collective, comprised of women-led podcasts that feature stories from women 50+ and topics that promote the pro-aging movement.Meet Suzy Rosenstein, podcast host of Women in the Middle: Loving Life After 50. Postpartum is not just a recovery phase, it is one of the biggest full body transitions a woman will ever go through. In this episode, Dr. Taz breaks down what actually happens in the fourth trimester, from the steep drop in estrogen and progesterone to fluid shifts, tissue dryness, gut slowdown, metabolic changes, and the mental and emotional load that can follow. You will learn why so many women feel unprepared after birth, why the six week bounce back expectation is unrealistic, and how older systems like Chinese medicine and Ayurveda approached postpartum as a sacred 40 to 100 day window of restoration.Dr. Taz shares: • Why postpartum can feel so destabilizing: the hormone crash, nervous system strain, and energy depletion most women are never taught about • The hidden physical shifts after delivery, including swelling and fluid volume changes that can take months to fully regulate • Why skin, hair, and vaginal dryness are common postpartum, and how this can affect libido, confidence, and self perception • How breastfeeding changes hormones, including oxytocin's calming effect and its relationship with cortisol and mood • Why weight loss varies dramatically postpartum, and how insulin sensitivity, blood sugar history, PCOS, and metabolic factors change the timeline • The gut changes no one talks about: slower motility, constipation, reflux, and why progesterone shifts play a role • The fourth trimester frameworks from Chinese medicine and Ayurveda: rest, warming foods, nourishment, massage, acupuncture, herbs, and community care • A modern 100 day postpartum plan that starts in the third trimester with nutrient optimization, thyroid and blood sugar support, gut health, and a real support circleWhether you are newly postpartum, preparing for birth, or supporting someone in those early months, this episode gives you a clear, practical roadmap to protect energy, reduce depletion, and recover in a way that helps you feel like yourself again.Stay Connected:Connect further to Hol+ at https://holplus.co/- Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell to stay updated on future episodes of hol+.Follow Dr. Taz on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drtazmd/https://www.instagram.com/liveholplus/Subscribe to the audio podcast: https://holplus.transistor.fm/subscribeSubscribe to the video podcast: https://www.youtube.com/@DrTazMD/podcastsGet your copy of The Hormone Shift: Balance Your Body and Thrive Through Midlife and MenopauseHost & Production TeamHost: Dr. Taz; Produced by ClipGrowth.com (Producer: Pat Gostek)

Three out of four teens are battling depression and anxiety, and one in three preteen girls has seriously considered suicide. The phones in their hands aren't just distracting them; they're rewiring their brains, stealing their sleep, and erasing their sense of purpose. In this episode, I sit down with Abdullah, Zain, Emaad, and Qasim Ansari from the Holistic Kids Show to talk about the shocking truth behind screen addiction. These teen health advocates wrote The Teen Health Revolution after watching their own peers struggle with mental health crises, chronic disease, and complete disconnection from real life. We talk about why 96% of Gen Z can't go to the bathroom without their phones, how blue light before bed leads to poor health outcomes, and the spiritual emptiness that comes from never being "bored enough" to think your own thoughts. The brothers share the exact screen time limits that work for their family, why an authoritarian approach fails with teens, and how to replace scrolling with purpose. Many people today describe a pattern they cannot explain. Life feels manageable until something unexpected happens at work or home, then the body suddenly shuts down. The mind spins, energy collapses, irritability rises, and the only thing that feels safe is withdrawing into the couch, the phone, or Netflix. This is not laziness or burnout. This is functional freeze. In this hol+ conversation, Dr. Taz sits down with environmental and root cause medicine expert Dr. Jessica Peatross (Dr. Jess) to reveal why so many people experience chronic fatigue, anxiety, weight gain, histamine reactions, food sensitivities and unexplained inflammation even when routine labs look normal.Instead of chasing symptoms or isolated toxins, Dr. Jess explains how a dysregulated nervous system alters detox, hormones, digestion, immunity and gene expression. She breaks down how trauma, mold exposure, hidden infections, parasites and environmental chemicals overload the body when the vagus nerve is stuck in fight, flight or freeze. And she shows why healing is impossible when the body does not feel safe. From childhood trauma and dorsal vagal shutdown to blocked drainage pathways, cytokine storms, reactivated viruses and misdiagnosed environmental illness, this episode reframes chronic symptoms through a lens of nervous system physiology, not personal weakness or aging. You will learn what functional freeze looks like, why detox often makes people worse, how to identify nervous system dysregulation, and the steps Dr. Jess uses to help patients regulate, open pathways and finally begin to heal. Together, Dr. Taz and Dr. Jess outline a clear, compassionate roadmap for anyone who has ever felt dismissed, overwhelmed or stuck in a body that will not calm down.Dr. Taz and Dr. Jess discuss: • What functional freeze is and why it shows up in daily life • How nervous system dysregulation drives fatigue, anxiety and chronic symptoms • The role of mold, parasites, toxins and environmental chemicals in chronic illness • Why detox fails when the body does not feel safe • Vagus nerve physiology and dorsal vs ventral vagal states • How trauma, stress and grief reshape hormones, immune function and methylation • Medical dismissal and the reality of normal labs with real symptoms • The drainage pathways that must open before detox • Histamine issues, MCAS, POTS and their connection to the nervous system • Tools that help regulate the system and support healing • How to track progress through sleep, HRV, emotional stability and digestion • Why healing is not linear and why support and community matterAbout Dr. Jessica Peatross Dr. Jessica Peatross is a functional and environmental medicine expert known for her work on nervous system dysregulation, toxin-driven illness and trauma informed detox. She is the founder of WellnessPlus, an educational platform teaching step-by-step protocols for mold, parasites, drainage and nervous system healing. Her approach blends clinical training with nervous system science to uncover root causes often missed in conventional care.Stay Connected:Connect further to Hol+ at https://holplus.co/- Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell to stay updated on future episodes of hol+.Follow Dr. JessInstagram: https://instagram.com/dr.jess.md/YouTube: https://youtube.com/@DoctorJessMDWebsiet: https://drjessmd.com/ Follow Dr.

Chasing external success but hitting ND burnout walls? In this episode of Adulting with Autism, host April explores personal mastery for neurodivergent high achievers with Jerry Henderson, creator of The Personal Mastery Framework™, author/speaker/coach/Personal Mastery Podcast host. Trained at Harvard in human behavior/neuroanatomy/resilience/habits (MBA Global Business, Master's Psychology in progress), Jerry helps trauma survivors (like his own childhood/burnout/imposter journey) blend IFS/NLP/positive psych for emotional resilience, limiting belief rewiring, and whole life success—beyond grind to clarity/peace. Key insights: Mindset pillar: Reframe fixed to growth (stress mindset, CBT for shame-driven achieving). NLP for beliefs: Anchor positive states, disrupt emotional loops (e.g., "happy button" for anxiety/perfectionism). Whole life vs. high performance: Holistic (relationships/sleep/nervous system) for thriving, not survival. Trauma-informed: IFS parts work (protectors/exiles), curiosity over judgment for resilience (ACEs impact). Habit formation: Start small/stack (atomic habits), align with self-worth to avoid sabotage. Clarity/peace: Intrinsic motivation, self-acceptance—external wins without void-filling. Authentic connection: Vulnerability in safe relationships (one fully disclosing starts it). Burnout fix: Honest self-reflection, ask help; job hopping ignores root causes (toxic patterns follow). For autistic/ADHD high performers in imposter/shame cycles, Jerry's framework (post-$1B philanthropy) sustains growth. Free call/resource at jerryhenderson.org.
