In our first release of 2021, Board Co-Chair and Executive Director, Earl Thomason Jr., re-presents our Theory of Change with a powerful message.
In one of the most moving and soul-stirring conversations we've had, Earl and Anna sat down with Edwin Raymond, a lieutenant for the New York Police Department and Jafarri Williams-Fox, a hospital responder with LIFE Camp. Edwin Raymond is known for his HULU Documentary Crime and Punishment, regarding the NYPD12 taking on the NYPD's illegal quota system. What does it mean to be Black and Blue? What does it mean to advocate for Black lives as a law enforcement officer? Jafarri is a member of LIFE Camp, an organization dedicated to developing youth and community leaders to work with the private and public sectors to create safe and healthy neighborhoods. They reduce teen gun violence, develop healthy communities, and strong leaders. It's no understatement to say that we sat down with two real-life superheroes. Two Black men putting their lives and bodies on the line each day for the sake of Black lives. It's because, at every step of the way, Our People Are Worth It.
