Episode 4 was tons of fun because I got to catch-up with my friend, Audree, of Simply Audree Kate. Audree is a NYC-based fashion stylist, editor, fashion consultant and founder of the Simply Audree Kate blog where she talks about all things style + her life in the fashion industry. In this conversation we dive into so many nuggets — from getting your dream internship (she interned for Redbook Magazine while she was a student at Arizona State), how she transitioned into freelance from her work in the corporate world, how to know if entrepreneurship is right for you, when to know it’s okay to be a “yes man” + how to bounce back from the inevitable rejections we all will face. Grab your notebook + a pen because you’ll want to take notes for this one, babe. _________________________________________________ Audree López is a NYC-based fashion stylist, freelance fashion editor at StyleCaster.com, industry consultant and manages a fashion and lifestyle blog called Simply Audree Kate. She launched her career in the editorial industry and worked in the fashion departments of Glamour, Editorialist, Redbook and O, the Oprah Magazine. After leaving print, she managed social media for a media start-up and worked freelance contracts with the creative, merchandise and PR departments at Marc Jacobs, J.Crew, Alice + Olivia, Club Monaco and Swarovski. Today, she is the freelance fashion editor at StyleCaster.com, freelance assistant stylist at Alice + Olivia and styles for various other clients through her personal styling brand AudreeKate Studios. Some of her previous clients include: Tommy Hilfiger, DL1961, Seventeen.com, Good Morning America, Urban Outfitters, StyleMePretty.com, FORD Models and L’Oreal. Audree graduated from Arizona State University in 2015 with double majors in Marketing and Journalism, and for her senior honors thesis, she worked with the business and design colleges to create ASU's first fashion merchandising course and fashion student organization. The merchandising course launched in Fall 2017 and the fashion organization is still one of the largest student organizations in the business college. _________________________________________________ Simply Audree Kate Blog: https://www.simplyaudreekate.com Simply Audree Kate Insta: https://www.instagram.com/simplyaudreekate/ Audree Kate Studios Insta: https://www.instagram.com/audreekatestudios/ Audree’s book, Fashion Fundamentals: Internships, Networking and Social Media: https://www.simplyaudreekate.com/asp-products/fashion-fundamentals-internships-networking-and-social-media-e-book/ _________________________________________________ Connect with Kayli! When was the last time you took a look at your strengths? This episode is all about looking inside yourself to find the things that make you the stellar human being that you are. And who better to talk to about this topic than strengths coach and magnificent human, Kristen Lohr? She’s a life coach, blogger and the brain behind Soul Sparks, an inspirational Instagram account that’s 40k followers strong. We had a wonderful conversation that’s equal parts laughter and inspiration and I feel incredibly honored to have such an insightful woman on to chat about the “quarter-life crisis”, the struggle of taking your own advice + discovering what kinds of lifestyle work for you — and what doesn’t. Grab your earphones, ladies! Here’s your chance to learn how to avoid crying into your wine glass of a quarter life crisis like I did...Yes. I go into that too. _________________________________________ Kristin Lohr is a life coach, writer, and podcast host living in Chicago. Her Instagram, We Are Soul Sparks, provides daily inspiration for thousands by reminding us that we are worthy of a big, brave life. In #OwningIt’s premiere episode Kate Van Horn is chatting entrepreneurship, loving your body and how beautiful your struggles really can be. I was fortunate enough to meet her since recording at The GOODFest (one of her thriving business ventures — yes one of them) in February and can say she’s just as incredible in-person as she is in this episode. She’s a social media mastermind, a wellness blogger at Kalein’ It and a certified kickass businesswoman. But what she cares about the most? Helping amazing people like you realize the importance of loving + celebrating yourself as you are — because you only have one crazy beautiful life, girlfriend! Sip on your favorite cup of tea (or Old Fashioned, double shot of whiskey, please!) as we chat + enjoy the episode! ______________________________________________ Kate is the blogger, recipe developer, and registered yoga teacher behind Kaleinit.com. Kalein It promotes health through mindful living, and a body positive message. She's also the co-founder of a wellness events business, B+YND which hosts The GOOD Festival, a one-day event for women in wellness.
