We've officially made 6 months!!! Let's Go!! In this episode, I share the hurdles that I had to overcome in order to launch this podcast. What was just an idea finally turned into reality. However, it took months before the podcast was finally born and the overwhelming support that came through, let me know that I had nothing to worry about. I was just in my own way. Often times, we're too stubborn to admit that we don't know everything and that there are people out there who are experts. We tend to operate out of fear of failure or shame and that can stop us from finally getting ahead in life. When COVID hit, I realized that life is too short. Life is too short to be stubborn and life is too short to be in the same place. So, if you know anyone who is stuck, tell them to get out of their own way. LET'S GO!!! "When you have access to people who are doing big things, who are wanting more for themselves and being able to pour into others, that's the type of people you want to be around. Because in turn it's going to uplift you and be able to make you feel capable of so much more." In this episode, I branch off of the quote from motivational speaker, Jim Rohn. However, it's not just the average 5 people that you spend the most time with but, also the people they spend time with and so on. So even people you haven't met yet will have some type of influence over you. How does this affect my finances? Well funny you ask. If you don't have a strong healthy relationship with money or a management system in place, you'll most likely pick up on their spending habits, their perspective and their beliefs. So choose wisely. I encourage you to audit the people you spend time with, create boundaries if necessary and attract the people you aspire to be so you can accomplish so much more. Let's GO!!! "We gotta figure out how and why our relationship with money is the way it is" In this episode, I share the benefits of being financially self-aware so you can ultimately make better financial decisions. It's important to start the conversations within your household or with your partner/spouse and set your intentions. Becoming self-aware starts with you. It starts by knowing your relationship with money. It starts with having the hard conversations instead of turning a blind eye. It starts with making the necessary changes. Having a purpose higher than you in regards to your budgets will make all the difference and continue to motivate you past internal obstacles. I challenge you to become financially self-aware. "Apparently 36% of people who plan to travel are willing to go into debt just to pay for their vacation and this debt can include carrying a balance on their credit cards, taking out personal loans, doing the buy now, pay later option. But, what I found most interesting is that a staggering 65% of U.S. adults are opting to not vacation for the summer because they can't afford. This is a great example of saying NO." Vision without action is a daydream and action without vision is a nightmare. In this episode, I share 5 steps you can take today to help not only improve your financial situation but also be able to implement action WITH a vision. It's imperative that we embody the person we need to be in order to accomplish our BHAG and that starts with taking the necessary action steps. Break each step down and be intentional in doing so. "It's this pressure that we place on ourselves depending on what birth order you're in." In this episode, I share my experience with being the firstborn and the financial pressures attached to it. I dive into a financial decision that I made and the urgency to do so as the oldest. Understanding how your birth order has an impact on your financial decisions can make all the difference in knowing why you do what you do. This topic is underdeveloped and is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to peeling back the layers. Each family dynamic is completely different and this may not apply to everyone however, it's worth noting that to some degree this may exist. The goal, always, is to continue saying the F word and this is just one of the ways. Let's GO!!! STAY CONNNECTED: Instagram: @saythefwordpodcast
"You can't open new doors with the same keys so be willing to have the hard conversations about budgeting, be willing to make temporary sacrifices so you can build a successful life together if that means buying your first or second home, taking your first family trip or finally going on your honeymoon trip after all these years. Whatever it may be just know that having a budget can get you there." In this episode, I emphasize the importance of spending quality time on a budget. Spending time with your partner/spouse doesn't have to be expensive especially if it doesn't fit your goals. Michelle and I truly value quality time and make it a priority to budget so we can enjoy life together. Budgeting doesn't have to be an awkward conversation or an uncomfortable topic. Normalizing conversations around budgeting can empower you to make big money moves and afford the life you want to live. I challenge you to spend quality time on a budget, whatever that looks like for you. Let's GO!!! STAY CONNECTED: Instagram: @saythefwordpodcast
"My way of treating myself, I would walk down to the Zippy's. Right around the corner, Kapahulu. and I would order a mini chili chicken plate. And i think at that point it was $7.95. And that was my treat and I would stop myself from eating it all. Obviously I was starving, I wasn't eating three meals a day." In this episode, I share a snippet of my life before receiving financial education. Life wasn't always a walk in the park. I share the hardships and struggles along with sacrifices that made me appreciate where I am today. I share my opinion on how important it is to create space in your relationship to talk through the struggles you both face and how that can open up the doors to more conversations about finances. Ordering a regular chili chicken plate is a reminder to myself that all of my hardwork and sacrifices weren't for nothing. So, that's exactly what I'm having for dinner! Let's GO!!! "Often times, we start to question ourselves because the person that influences us the most has the control and dictates what it is that we're capable of doing." In this episode, I help you figure out who influences you the most and why that's important to acknowledge. We tend to make or not make certain decisions based on the person or people that has the most influence over us. Sometimes these decisions don't quite match up with our goals. At that pooint, do we know how to seperate ourselves from that type of influence? And how does this tie into saying the F word? It all boils down to managing the type of influences that are conducive with our goals so we can give ourselves permission to what more. Once we break free, we can then build a healthy relationship with the F word. Let's GO!!! STAY CONNECTED: @saythefwordpodcast
