Everyone has personal insecurities they must cope with every day. While we all feel unsure of ourselves sometimes, an overly insecure person suffers more and considerably limits their growth and happiness. Regardless of where we stand on the insecurity continuum, all of us can benefit from learning how to cope when we experience self-doubt. While not all forms fit neatly into one type, most people can identify with seven common types of insecurities. Awareness of the types that impact your life is the first step to tackling them.

Any time someone tells me they wish something was different in their life I ask, “what is holding you back?” Is it fear, self-doubt, or the comfort of familiarity? During this episode, Jody and I talk about taking ownership and being proactive in our lives. We all have worries, concerns, and dreams, and too often often we let fear hold us back from taking action. It is imperative that we break free from the limitations we impose on ourselves. There are many common roadblocks: job dissatisfaction, wanting to lose weight, fears of public speaking, or concerns about children's safety. We can all relate. The first step in overcoming your unique barriers is acknowledging their existence. Once we recognize what is holding us back, we have the power to make a change. No matter how small of a change you start with, it can have a significant impact in the long run. As I reflect on my own experiences, I've realized the importance of facing challenges head-on. Having courage and discipline to tackle what's holding you back can lead to great things, but it takes sacrifice. My father, Lee, often says, "Get on it!" Don't let problems control you. Take that first step, no matter how small, and soon you'll gain momentum and start moving in the right direction. Even if the situation worsens, you have control and can find a solution. We often know what's holding us back but choose to walk around with it, avoiding the necessary actions. It's time to break free from that pattern. Take responsibility for your life. Blaming external factors leaves us feeling powerless. Recognizing that we have choices and can influence outcomes is liberating. Changing habits and routines is challenging, but essential. It may be tough initially, but as you gain control over your choices, your self-confidence will soar. Admit what's holding you back, take responsibility, and start small. Every action counts. Don't deny yourself the joy and growth that comes from overcoming challenges. Listen to this episode for more on ways Jody and I have broken habits so those barriers no longer hold us back.

Katie Wenger experienced an early interest in the field ofPsychology after an engaging high school course on the subject. She thenfollowed that interest which quickly became a passion to Penn State Universitywhere she majored in Psychology and minored in Human Development and FamilyStudies. After learning from some innovative and highly experienced professorsat Penn State, she focused her passion on developing a career in therapy.Attending Temple University where she received a Master's of Social Workdegree, she learned further a broad perspective of the human experience andneeds of individuals, couples and families and how to best support them.Shortly after, she earned her Clinical license and began working in the fieldof individual and couple's therapy. Katie has been practicing psychotherapy for 18 years andeducates clients nationwide through her company, Higher Fulfillment. The materials offered include courses forindividuals and couples, webinars, consultations, the affirmation book, herupcoming book which will be released in April of 2023: Obstacles Under the Surface: How to Keep Your Subconscious from NegativelyImpacting Your Life, and the podcast "Obstacles Under the Surface". Katie's practice is dedicated to helpingindividuals and couples find peace and flourish through relationshipchallenges. About Katie Wenger You are familiar with the dark, difficult stretches of yourthoughts and how you feel lost, confused and unhappy. They seep into your mindset and make you feelunsure and depressed. What if thesethoughts came from patterns that are obstacles to your happiness? In relationships, in life choices, in yourdaily mindset, and in your view of yourself - they cause obstacles. In therapy, you push yourself and try tofigure it out and change it but you keep coming back to that word “stuck” andthings that feel uncomfortably familiar. Sitting at my desk, reflecting on my career and what it hastaught me, my thoughts move to an internal remembrance of clients whoseprogress stalls. They often reportfeeling frustrated and disempowered when they are trying to make change andcan't move forward. Their motivationdwindles. They may doubt themselves. Asa therapist, I challenge them to take time to feel all of this, allow the humancondition, and give space to this experience. This is a time of self-exploration when the emotions eventually largelydissipate. Dig deeper into who you areand what is really holding you back. When you feel like there is something holding you back, youmay be detecting an obstacle that is present but unrecognized. Reaching into therapeutic methods andstrategies and possibly seeing some progress but it is not always enough toregain your happiness or potentially break these patterns. Or you may leave, feeling renewed, and thenfind that you are back in that familiar cycle with that familiar type of personor situation. You may blame yourself butit is the patterns, the obstacles under the surface. You can only make so much change withinyourself. However, if you don't identifythese obstacles through exploration, you will be there again. Let's find your way to move past them forgood. https://higherfulfillment.com/ https://www.facebook.com/katiewengerlcsw/ https://www.instagram.com/therelationshipconsultant/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/katie-wenger-106616111/ https://podmatch.com/guestdetail/1675651141655x860289190361073900
I recently returned back from a trip with my family to France and I have some insights to share with you when it comes to our vibration and manifestation. A lot of times, when we manifest something amazing, we tend to sabotage it. Why does this happen? Find out why by listening to the episode. Do you ever have thoughts like “Who am I to enjoy these wonderful experiences?” or even “Everything is working out… I'm starting to live my dream life. So that must mean it's all about to go horribly wrong, right?” These thoughts lead to nothing but a lower vibration that blocks our desires from making their way to us.We have to shift our perspective around this. Think about it this way. What if our businesses took off to the point where we could be massively generous with our time and finances? What if we attracted so much abundance into our lives that we could support those who are suffering in the world? This perspective takes us from a lower vibration (where we cannot simply enjoy our lives) let alone be generous with those in need. It is actually of massive service to receive our desires and release any guilt around doing so.That's the power of our vibration, and that's the power of staying present. And, that's what I'm sharing with you today on today's podcast.Learn more about Katrina at www.yourinspiredmindset.comFollow Katrina on Instagram @katrina_manifestationmama for manifestation tips and daily inspiration, or learn more about working with Katrina here: https://calendly.com/katrinainspiredmindset/30minBe sure to subscribe so that you don't miss any upcoming episodes, and share with a friend who needs to hear this messageGet your FREE GUIDE “5 Steps to Feeling Good in the Morning”Interested in learning more about CBD and Green Compass? Making decisions in your business can be stressful, and most of us tend to rely on the same decision-making habits we've had for a long time. In this insightful solo episode, I discuss two common decision-making defaults that can lead to failure and regret, and offer practical strategies to help you shift your decision-making patterns to make more conscious and intentional choices. Whether you lean towards impulsivity or overthinking, I've got you covered with actionable tips and techniques. Discover how to make decisions that stand the test of time and allow you to trust yourself in running your business. Key takeaways:1️⃣ Recognize your decision-making default: Are you more prone to impulsivity or overthinking? Understanding your default style can help you make conscious, intentional choices.2️⃣ Pause button strategy: Avoid making decisions on impulse by implementing a stall tactic. Take the time to think and consider the options before committing.3️⃣ Decision partners: Seek the input of others who may provide a different perspective. Having a trusted second opinion can help you avoid the pitfalls of both impulsivity and overthinking.Mic Drop Moment: "Overthinkers tell themselves they have to research every possible option and compare the relative advantages and disadvantages, but this is extremely time-consuming and exhausting. It reinforces our belief that we don't know what we're doing, and that we can't trust ourselves." Is your default decision-making style interfering with your success? Take my "What's Holding You Back?" quiz, which can help you uncover the decision-making defaults that might be hindering your progress. One of the biggest challenges for all software developers in 2023 (and leading into 2024) - is simplifying their tech stack so work can get done. The continued explosion of boutique frameworks and libraries is making it harder than ever to manage complexity as the stack of tools and technologies we use on our projects grows. Whether you're a software architect, senior engineer or developer, or any other role that encounters tools and technologies on a software project - the decisions we make about what frameworks, APIs, libraries, and other pieces of technology to use on a software project impact us all. In this episode, I'd like to help you simplify your tech stack by sharing some of the things I've learned as a software architect about making informed and reasoned decisions about tech stack choices. I hope it helps you avoid some of the typical pitfalls we programmers can fall into when we select tools and technologies as soon as we find them - instead of stepping back and finding out if they're really high value enough to the team to adopt using them. #241 - What if the biggest obstacle to your success is your own mind? That's the provoking thought we unravel in this discussion. My husband Marc and I are going into the depths of our subconscious, uncovering hidden beliefs that may be keeping us stuck in a cycle of self-doubt and underachievement. Striving for perfection, for instance, is a common trap many of us fall into, setting unattainable standards that leave us feeling inadequate. But what if we told you that progress, not perfection, is the true measure of success? We challenge these limiting beliefs that are sneaky, and encourage you to focus on alternative thoughts. We hope this conversation helps you recognize and challenge the beliefs that are holding you back, equipping you to embrace a new perspective and unlock your true potential. So, let's embark on this journey of self-discovery together and reshape our realities, one belief at a time to live outside of our comfort zones. What if your beliefs are the barrier preventing you from achieving your dreams? In this episode, hosts Kevin Palmieri and Alan Lazaros talk about the conventional approach of setting massive goals that we find difficult to believe we can achieve, often leading to disappointment and decreased self-belief. On the other hand, setting smaller goals that we can see ourselves achieving boosts our self-belief and provides a solid foundation for future goal-setting.Links mentioned:Next Level Nation - https://www.facebook.com/groups/459320958216700Contact Kevin and Alan: Email

If there's one thing I know, it's that heart-centered, service-based coaches, creatives and entrepreneurs struggle with sales conversations and selling their services. You might even think that client attraction is your #1 biggest problem but I'm here to tell you that you only need to talk to one single person to create a client. And yet, if you've got “issues” when it comes to offering and selling your services, that could be the very thing getting in the way of you making money doing what you love! It's time to settle in for some real talk about the hot topic of sales as I uncover an empowering new perspective on your relationship to sales and money (making it and spending it!) that will allow you to have conversations, make offers, be visible, and tell people what's available to them while still feeling like a heart-centered business owner running a human-centric Biz.Get Full Show Notes, Event Sign Ups and More Information Here:http://www.staceybrassrussell.com/podcast

This is something Adam mentioned he thought would be a good topic and is also something Rosie had heard in the last couple days, so we decided to talk about comparison. We have all heard that phrase that comparison is the thief of joy, but one thing we've heard is that if you find yourself in a state of comparison, it either leads to discouragement or to pride, so it's never a good thing. If you find yourself comparing, you're either putting yourself down, or you're trying to put someone else down indirectly to make yourself look or feel better. Hard emotions as parents 1:25It's so easy to get discouraged 7:30Patience and repetition 12:30Being in the company of gratitude as opposed to comparison 18:00Adam experiencing a trigger 22:30Fantasy and where you think you should be 27:30“I remember someone saying a year back, ‘Don't give up your why for your why.' You're like ‘Oh I'm gonna create this business, or I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna do this because it's gonna allow me to spend more time with my family, we'll travel, we'll do this.' and then you're so busy doing the thing, that you give up the original reason that you did the thing. It's so easy and I think social media makes it so easy to slip into comparison.” 2:02https://www.facebook.com/theirishmummy/https://www.instagram.com/the_irish_mummy/Pick up a copy of Journal to Joy. Here's a quote that I feel accurately represents today's episode: “If more information was the answer, then we'd all be billionaires with perfect abs.” - Derek Sivers It's true: Today we have access to literally ALL the information we could ever want. So if more information isn't the answer to our next level, what is? The problem isn't often about knowing what to do — it's UNBLOCKING what's getting in the way of you actually doing what you need to do. Today's guest, Britt Lefkoe, is one of the TOP coaches in doing exactly this. Today, you will not only learn HOW to identify the limiting beliefs you have… … but you'll ALSO learn exactly what you can do to eliminate them. This is an amazing interview, with an amazing human, on one of my favorite topics. To learn more about Britt, visit https://gobeyondcurious.com/podcast/britt-lefkoe/

Meaningful Quotes "It's usually our fear of success that actually stops us, not our fear of failure. It's like it's fear of success." - Marsha Vanwynsberghe [1:05:24] "I think part of it is you have to create a new baseline of, you know, the of that zone of comfortability, you have to create a new baseline there." - Shiva Dhanasekar [1:09:53] "I think that to be very much true. And the more you build out that comfort zone as you stretch it, then all of a sudden, you start to build some trust within yourself that okay, I did this like I actually I've come I've come a ways." - Marsha Vanwynsberghe [1:10:07] "You just have to move, you just have to move. And when you have that drop-down of what you want to do. We're diving deep into the mental roadblocks that could be holding you back from reaching the level of success you really want this week. We tend to circle back to the same excuses, often subconsciously. These are excuses as to why we can't invest in ourselves, why we can't make a decision, or why we can't get unstuck. Yet, you're also ambitious and driven to create a high-growth life—which means you've already figured out so much along the way. You've come this far already, and you have what it takes to keep moving forward. One excuse that might come up for you is time. If you're constantly finding yourself complaining about a lack of time, it may be time to reflect on whether or not you are prioritizing the time you do have or are spending it wisely. Delegate what you can and eliminate what doesn't need to be done at all. Another common excuse is “I can't afford it.” Financial restraints are real, but you also have to be open to seeking out solutions so that you can afford important additions to your business, including investments in your team and your personal development. Waiting for the “perfect moment” is another mental roadblock. When you wait for a time that may never come, you relinquish your control. Believe it or not, “I have to ask my partner” is another excuse that comes up. While it's essential to communicate with your partner when making big decisions, remember that your job is to do the research, decide what's going to be best, and then enroll the people around you into the decision you make.
