This is a place for me to share my weekly thoughts about Jesus, marriage, family, and work. I do not believe that God is just for Sunday. I believe He is at the very center of everything in my life and I believe He cares about the little things. I am hono
This is a GREAT episode for our High School Sunday Thinkers. Navigating friendships as a young girl can be complicated. I cannot wait to share this friendship with you. It is hard to keep a straight face when you're with a good friend. Amy is one of those people. She is so wise and she shares how she navigated friendships in High School and even currently. We share some funny memories together and how our friendship is a gift from God. THIS. IS. ONE. OF. MY. FAVORITE CONVERSATIONS! My good friend, Ashlyn Lanni, discusses with me about how culture emphasizes our own worth. We break apart the ideas that culture (and church culture) advertise and examine if the messages are true according to Scripture. About today's Sunday Thinker: Ashlyn has a Master's degree in Mental Health. She has been on church staff, served on discipleship ministries for college girls, and currently works at a Christian media company. Ashlyn has been a Christian for over 11 years. She discovered who Jesus is while searching through religions and came across the Bible. She read the Bible and was captured by Jesus in the gospels. Ashlyn is a good friend of mine and I cannot wait for you to meet her! I had such a BLAST chatting with Jen. Jen Staesser is a friend, mentor, and one of my heroes in the faith. She unravels the idea of LOVE by breaking down love into four Greek words. The diagram that illustrates this idea of love actually gives us wisdom into the levels of trust that we have with the people in our lives. We can STILL fulfill the law of love without entrusting every aspect of our lives to everyone! Below is the diagram for you to look at: Trust Circles Also if you haven't already, check out the book mentioned in today's episode: Boundaries: When to Say YES, When to Say NO, To Take Control of Your Life Feel free to save this or print this out! It will be so helpful to our relationships in our life. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Hey YOU! GOD SPEAKS! In this episode I suggest 2 thoughts #SundayThoughts on HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD. I believe God is speaking to His people and I think we are compelled to understand & obey. I differentiate between spiritual giftedness and spiritual maturity; This thought was produced from another podcast called Real Christianity #RealChristianity by Dale Partridge. Scripture references: 1 Corinthians 2:10-15 James 1:5; 1:19-25 2 Corinthians 12 Jeremiah 33:3 Proverbs 24:3-6 Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established; By knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Whoah! What a title, right?! Well, I believe we live in a culture where many unbiblical teachings in the name of Christianity are breeding disappointment instead of hope because of a false representation of the True God. I know, a mouth full. My hope is that this is encouraging to those who are like my younger self; Seeking to understand God truly through His word in the mix of the mainstream, Christian culture. Some Scripture references from today's show: John 10:5 & John 10:14-18 1 John 4:2 Matthew 7:22-23 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 Follow me @katie_rene_bradley to stay up to date with new episodes! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
HAPPY FOURTH! This episode I share a poem that I wrote exactly one year ago (July 2020). As our world seems to go one direction, I believe there is a call from God that compels us to hope. Several times in this poem I say the word "Awake" which was inspired when I read Isaiah 51. Verse 9 says "Awake, awake, arm of the Lord, clothe yourself with strength! Awake, as in days gone by, as in generations of old." I began to pray this over our nation during our trying 2020 times. I believe this message still rings true. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
