Text us here! Hershall, Dustin is WHAT?? I hope all is well with you if you still listen to us... Maybe if you don;t you will start again afresh today. We had a rather significant happening today. I made the executive decision to ban a certain entertainer from this podcast... to cleanse the cast I had to use several songs and I think it worked. We talked about some important stuff along the way though. Things like: hobo's Shammah and his bean patch, unpaid electric bills, How to pack a vehicle for a trip. We ended by talking about how we can hear God's voice. Enjoy if possible! This podcast is one with a twist. Instead of the good stories of God speaking, we're sharing the bad! We all love a good God conversation story. God is still speaking as powerfully and creatively as he did in Bible days. But the nature of our flawed humanity is that we can get it wrong. We can make mistakes. We can use the claim to hearing God's voice to manipulate others. The result is real damage to people's lives. It's important that we don't overlook the bad stories or pretend they don't exist. Instead they become a learning opportunity when we see where things went wrong. That's why on the show in this episode, we talk with long time pastor Paul Hudson from the Elim group of churches in the UK. As a pastor of pastors, he's seen the worst (and the best!) of the prophetic world and has plenty of wisdom to share about how to avoid the pitfalls. You'll hear about: Paul's story growing up in a Christian environment and how two simple words from the Holy Spirit completely changed his heart towards international mission. From there, God used him to establish a global network beyond his own nation. A tragic story of a young man and woman who believed God spoke to them about marriage. They married quickly without consultation from others and their marriage broke up within 6 months due to abuse. Here we learn how consultation in community - especially those who are willing to disagree - is crucial. Paul's own story of God speaking to warn him and how he twisted it around because he didn't like what he heard. Thankfully God gave him a further message that enabled him to redeem the situation. Reflections on the Apostle's Paul experience when the disciples mis-interpreted the prophetic word they heard about Paul's journey to Jerusalem (Acts 21). Throughout the stories, you'll hear some recurring themes! We share the bad stories so we don't have to repeat them. Let's be smart enough as well as humble enough to learn from the experiences of others! Subscribe to God Conversations with Tania Harris and never miss an episode! About Paul Hudson After planting a church in the Lake District of the UK for 4 years, Paul pastored a church in West Yorkshire for 17 years. During that time, Paul also became the International Missions Director for the Elim denomination and established the Elim Global Network which is now in over 60 nations of the world and made up of thousands of churches. Five years later, he holds a regional role, leading 105 churches in the UK and acting as the pastors' pastor. He continues to serve as the General Secretary of the Elim Global Network.

https://newsongpeople.com/messages/immersed-in-scriptureImmersed in Scripture // Hearing God Series // Pastor Sarah BlountJesus didn't just know Scripture—He lived it. Every word He spoke, every choice He made, every step He took flowed from deep communion with His Father. In this message, we'll uncover Jesus's daily rhythms for hearing God clearly—through prayer, Scripture immersion, and intentional time in God's presence.1. Immersion & EncounterPurpose: Help members recognize the difference between reading for information vs. transformation.Leader Tips:Ask for examples of times they've read Scripture and felt personally met by God.Encourage them to be honest if Bible reading feels more like a checklist—this creates room for practical ideas.Follow up with: What's one change you could make to your approach this week to read expectantly?2. Memorization & MeditationPurpose: Help people reflect on which part of their engagement with Scripture is strong and which needs growth.Leader Tips:Briefly explain each phrase from Kevin DeYoung:_Submitting your will = Letting Scripture set your priorities._Committing your brain = Learning it deeply, understanding context._Humbling your heart = Being ready to obey even when it's hard.Ask them to pick one area to strengthen and share a practical step—e.g., choosing one verse to memorize this week.3. Response & SupplicationPurpose: Connect Bible engagement to life application and prayer.Leader Tips:Encourage them to think of even small ways Scripture has moved them to action—like a phone call, an apology, or a praise prayer.Ask the group to commit to one specific response from their Bible reading this week.Offer to follow up next time with a quick “How did it go?” so there's gentle accountability.#HearingGod #NewSongChurch #FriendsTalk #John15 #HearingGodsVoice #Faith #BibleTeaching #SpiritualGrowth #ChristianLiving #JesusIsSpeaking #YouCanHearGod #HearingGod #SpeakLord #VoiceOfGod #LivingWord #PrayerAndPresence #SpiritLed #FaithComesByHearing #WalkWithJesus #EveryWordMatters #ScriptureSpeaks #JesusAtTheCenter.
Hearing God's Voice MESSAGE SUMMARY: Introduction: The Gospel is based on both the Old and the New Testaments. The Gospel must go forth in the power of the Holy Spirit – the Gospel is a Spiritual message. Today's Message: In John 10, Jesus is speaking about the “shepherd”; the shepherd: 1) enters through the gate; 2) has the gate opened by a watchman; 3) sheep listen to his voice; 4) calls each sheep by name; 5) leads his sheep by going ahead of the sheep; and 6) has a voice by which he is known to his sheep and they follow him. In the first century, shepherding was an intimate profession; and the shepherd was always with his sheep. The shepherd talked to his sheep, and the sheep knew the shepherd's voice. Also, in John 10, Jesus talked about the “false shepherd” who is a “thief and a robber”. The sheep do not follow the “false shepherd”. Jesus says that the “thief (false shepherd) comes only to steal, kill and destroy”. In John 10:7-10, Jesus says that He is the “gate”, and He is the way (gate) by which we are saved from our sins and eternal death; and we are provisioned for a full life as His followers. Like the sheep that follow the good shepherd, if we follow Jesus, we will all hear His voice. How do we know the voice of Jesus? Consider that: 1) we must enter only through the gate – Jesus; 2) we must be a sheep of the Good Shepherd and follow Jesus through an intimate relationship with Him; 3) we must learn to listen (for example, today we listen through the inward witness of the Holy Spirit – the Holy Spirit is charged with communicating the will of God to mankind and to sync our mind with the mind of God); 4) we obey as we listen – in the New Testament, the words “hear” and “obey” are the same words – God will speak directions for our lives; and 5) we don't harden our hearts to the voice of the Lord – listen to His voice and obey. As the Lord says: “Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalms 46:10). TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, help me to grab hold of you today. I need you. Set me free to begin reorienting my life around you, and you alone. Help me to pay attention to and honor how you have uniquely made me. Thank you for the gift of rest. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 122). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FORGIVEN. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): John 10:1-18; Ezekiel 34:22-34; John 5:25-29: Ezekiel 43:2;1 King's 19:12; Isaiah 30:21; John 10:27-30; Hebrews 3:7-15. Today's focus is on the vital importance of building our lives according to God's pattern, not our own preferences or the shifting standards of the world. Drawing from Jesus' words in Matthew 7, we see that every person is building a “house”—a life, a family, a future. The difference between a life that stands and one that falls is not in the storms faced, but in the foundation chosen. Jesus makes it clear: hearing His words is not enough; it is the application—obedience—that makes us wise builders. The storms of life are inevitable, but those who build on the rock of Christ will endure. A key obstacle to hearing God is the absence of repentance. Repentance is not just a one-time event but a continual turning from our own way of thinking to God's way. The story of King Herod illustrates the danger of silencing the voice of repentance; when we cut off repentance, we cut off the voice and direction of God in our lives. True repentance means surrendering our right to define good and evil and instead adopting God's standard. Wisdom is not merely knowledge, but knowledge applied. Solomon's prayer for wisdom, rather than riches or power, shows us that wisdom brings with it all the other blessings we often seek. Many of the struggles we face are not just circumstantial but are rooted in faulty patterns—cycles that can only be broken by aligning our lives with God's design. Life built by default—drifting wherever the tide takes us—leads to instability. But life built by design, according to God's pattern, brings hope, stability, and endurance. The foundation we choose is more important than the storms we face. Even if you have built poorly in the past, God's grace allows you to choose today to build on the rock of Jesus. Our hope is not in our circumstances, but in the unshakable foundation of Christ. Like the hymn writer Edward Mote, whose song “My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less” was born out of a desire to hear from God, we can find peace and strength in Jesus, no matter what storms come our way. Key Takeaways - Repentance is the gateway to hearing God's voice. When we refuse to repent, we silence the very voice that brings direction and life. Repentance is not just feeling sorry, but a decisive change of mind—letting go of our own definitions of right and wrong and embracing God's truth. Without repentance, even the most religious among us can find ourselves spiritually deaf. [03:21] - Wisdom is knowledge applied, not just knowledge acquired. Solomon's request for wisdom teaches us that God values our desire to discern and apply His ways above all else. Many blessings we seek are the natural result of living wisely, and without wisdom, even good things can become burdens or be lost. Wisdom is the difference between surviving storms and being swept away by them. [10:54] - The patterns we follow determine the outcomes we experience. Repeated struggles often point to faulty patterns, not just bad luck or spiritual attack. God calls us to build according to His pattern, not our feelings or cultural trends. Changing the pattern—aligning with God's design—brings freedom and breaks cycles of defeat. [17:18] - Life built by default is unstable; life built by design is secure. Drifting with the tides of circumstance or emotion leads to instability and disappointment. God invites us to intentional living—making decisions rooted in His wisdom and truth. Our destiny is shaped not by chance, but by the daily decisions to build on the rock. [22:39] - Hope for the future is found in the foundation, not the forecast. The storms of life are inevitable, but they do not determine our future—our foundation does. Even if you have built on sand in the past, God's grace allows you to start building on the rock today. The peace, hope, and endurance you long for are found in Jesus, our unshakable foundation. In Acts 15, the church faced a crisis: was faith in Jesus enough, or did Gentile believers also need to keep the Mosaic Law? Revival had spread so quickly that leaders struggled to keep pace. Some insisted, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved” (Acts 15:1, NASB 2020). Paul and Barnabas strongly disagreed, which led to a gathering of apostles, elders, and even opposing voices in Jerusalem. Peter testified that God had chosen […] The post Hearing God Together appeared first on Revival Life Church Boca Raton, FL.

Lots of times. So why does it still feel like you're stuck in neutral? You've been showing up for this business — for this Kingdom calling — but when you look around, it's crickets. No real momentum. No consistent income. No engagement that feels like traction. And you're starting to wonder: “Did I even hear God right?”Sis, that fear is real. I've felt it too. But here's what I need you to know right now:

Why Can't I Hear God's Voice? It's been said that “hearing God's voice is as natural as breathing,” so why do we often find it a challenge? If we were created to be in relationship with God, why do we find it so hard to hear the Spirit speak? On this episode, we explore this question at a deeper level with prophetic ministry leader and spiritual director, Christine Westhoff. Christine is the President of The MESH Objective, a collective of psychologists, social workers, spiritual directors, and coaches who work to support the mental, emotional and spiritual health of leaders across the world. She is also a prophetic minister and trains church leaders towards a healthier and biblically based understanding of the Spirit. You'll learn about:Christine's spiritual journey and how she navigated the near loss of her son and grandson. Christine shares how pain can create distance between us and God.Obstacles to hearing God – perhaps better expressed as “areas of resistance” we experience towards God. Christine highlights the challenge of vulnerability and shows that just like any human relationship, we need to open up the hidden areas of our heart in order to receive Spirit revelation. The importance of framing our “hearing God” experiences in the context of relationship. Hearing God is not some sort of mechanical skill. This is why spiritual direction – learning to hear God's voice with the support of another person – is so valuable. Having another person alongside helps us to identify any areas of resistance we have towards God and how to remove them.Another obstacle to hearing God is a lack of understanding that we can receive God's revelation through all of our senses. Some simple spiritual exercises to help us know our own thoughts and sense God's presence with us. Here we learn the priority of understanding being withGod even above hearing from God.About Christine WesthoffChristine Westhoff is the author and developer of ReFraming the Prophetic (www.reframingtheprophetic.com), a biblical reflection book and online course that aims to anchor the gift of prophecy into its biblical framework and purpose. She is a trained spiritual director and the President of the MESH Objective (meshobjective.org), a collective of psychologists, social Workers, spiritual directors, and coaches working to support the mental, emotional, and spiritual health of leaders and missionaries globally. In this Archival Episode of "The Mind Shift Podcast," Erwin and Aaron McManus dive into the interconnectedness of creativity and spirituality, sharing insights from their personal journeys and their work at Mosaic - a church that embodies these principles. This episode, explores how creativity flows naturally from a spiritual life and the impact of this blend on personal and community growth. Recorded live in KL, Malaysia.Creativity is the Natural Result of Spirituality: Erwin begins by affirming that creativity is a direct result of spirituality, challenging the notion that churches are traditionally the least creative institutions. He argues that since human beings are inherently created in the image of a creative God, it follows that spirituality should inspire creativity, not stifle it.Challenges of Leadership and Faith: Erwin shares the challenges he faced when founding Mosaic, a church that aligns with his unique leadership style. He discusses the delicate balance of managing fame and family, particularly highlighting a significant moment when a young Aaron questioned his faith. This story underscores the importance of allowing children the space to explore and express their beliefs authentically. The Significance of Hearing God's Voice: A major part of their discussion focuses on the necessity of being attuned to God's voice and the role this plays in guiding one's creative and spiritual journey. Erwin emphasizes that hearing God's voice is essential not just for personal guidance but also for maintaining vitality within the church's mission to reach a creatively evolving world.Family and Professional Life Balance: They also touch on the critical aspect of maintaining close family relationships amidst professional demands. Erwin and Aaron share personal reflections on how they manage this balance, stressing the importance of prioritizing family while fulfilling their roles in ministry and leadership.Invitation to Future Gatherings: The conversation concludes with an invitation to listeners to participate in future gatherings at Mosaic Church. This call to action is aimed at those looking to deepen their engagement with a community that values creativity and spirituality intertwined.
