Can God Speak to You in Chaos when life feels like trying to hear a whisper in the noise of a crowded stadium? Yes. In this episode, Pops shows how to hear God's voice in chaos through Scripture, stillness, prayer, and discernment (Luke 10:41; 1 Kings 19; Psalm 46:10; John 10:27). Learn why a restless mind struggles to hear a peaceful God, how to set your mind on things above (Col 3:2), and simple practices to quiet noise and chaos and hear the gentle whisper of the Lord. We'll walk through a weekly challenge (Psalm 23), practical steps (meditation, solitude, testing impressions with Scripture), and a hopeful reminder that chaos never has the last words God does.SUBSCRIBE to our channel / @binmin_org JOIN the NEWSLETTER at https://binmin.org/newsletter/SUPPORT Binmin with a tax-deductible gift HERE - https://binmin.org/donate0:00 - INTRO 1:19 - ELIJHA'S GENTLE WHISPER (1 KINGS 19)2:20 - THE SECRET OF STILLNESS (PSALM 46:10)3:00 - START WITH A PSALM (23/27/46/103)3:30 - PRAYER AND SOLITUDE LIKE JESUS (MARK 1:35)4:14 - PERSISTENCE, PATIENCE, AND DISCERNMENT4:55 - JESUS IS NOT SILENT IN YOUR CHAOS5:15 - WEEKLY CHALLENGE5:39 - OUTRO JOIN the NEWSLETTER. The Bible was not created by man but divinely orchestrated by God to stand as His unchanging Word through the ages. Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar explain that its authority was acknowledged, not granted, and that it has remained flawless and trustworthy from the start. They detail how the Old and New Testaments were affirmed, preserved, and confirmed through careful transmission and divine guidance, showing that even without the original manuscripts, God's Word has never lost its truth or power. The guys emphasize that Scripture was breathed out by God Himself, making it living and active, unlike anything written by human wisdom. They remind believers that the Bible exposes human weakness but reveals God's perfect plan, always pointing to Christ. The Bible endures as the inspired, accurate, and eternal Word of God—the ultimate authority and guide for every generation.Send us a textThanks for listening! God Speaks to Jesus Followers Through the Holy Spirit's Inward Voice, and with the Spirit, He Gave His Personal Relationship MESSAGE SUMMARY: Isaiah tells us in Isaiah 30:21: "And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,' when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.". We know, from the New Testament, that Jesus Followers are given the Holy Spirit to walk with them -- "a word behind you". Since the Holy Spirit takes up residence in you, the way the Lord speaks to you is through the inward witness of the Holy Spirit -- the Spirit will speak, and you will know that it is the Lord. In John 14:26, Jesus reminds us about His promise, to His followers, of the “Helper” (Holy Spirit): “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”. Additionally, in John 16-7, Jesus tells us that not only will the Holy Spirit be your “Helper”, the Holy Spirit will be your “Comforter”: “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him {the Comforter} unto you.". For Jesus Followers, God speaks through the inward voice of the Holy Spirit who He gave to us along with a personal relationship with Him. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, you know how difficult it is for me to be in silence before you. At times it feels almost impossible, given the demands, distractions, and noise all around me. I invite you to lead me to a quiet, silent place before you — to a place where I can hear you as Elijah did. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 123). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Fear. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Faithfulness. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Ezekiel 22:30-31; Isaiah 30:21; John 14:23-27; John 16:7-13; Psalms 134:1-3. A WORD FROM THE LORD WEBSITE: www.AWFTL.org. We ask the Holy Spirit to show us why He spoke through Nebuchadnezzar to the ancient world (and even to us through this prophetic dream today)—and what are we to do with the information that He reveals. We will also talk about how God continues to speak through dreams, and how we should pray for, anticipate, and interpret these dreams for maximum effect and benefit.

Stop living life with your “spiritual GPS" on airplane mode Proverbs 3 said,“Acknowledge Him in all thy ways and He shall direct thy paths,” But half of us are behaving like spiritual crackheads, allowing emotional highs to direct our path and then wondering why we keep going in circles. We're praying for straight paths while taking emotional detours, walking in disobedience, pedaling on procrastination, as if we are afraid to enter into the presence of God aloneAnd God's like, “You want Me to make your way clear, But you won't even check the map I have provided or thumb through the Words I have spewed. When you and I sit down to read the Bible we are, in a sense, eavesdropping. We are learning by listening in to what are ancient conversations: that is, God speaking to ancient people living in very different times and cultures. While God was speaking to them, He was also speaking for our benefit. We should still agree with Paul's words to Timothy about the inspiration and profitability of Scripture. After all, God had the Bible compiled for us. We need to ask what God's message is for me in what I am reading. We still learn what we need to do to be part of His plans and we still learn how He wants us to live in our world and society – if we listen with care, thought and prayer.

The divine can intersect with our human lives, God speaks – it's about listening and responding.
We live in a world that loves to hear from God—but not always to listen to Him. We want His comfort more than His correction, His blessing more than His direction. But when God speaks, it isn’t for our curiosity—it’s for our obedience. Every time God’s Word comes, it confronts a choice: Will I trust what I feel or obey what He says? Will I chase safety, or surrender to His will? Two stories—separated by centuries—reveal that difference. One ends in captivity. The other fuels the gospel. Because when God speaks, the outcome always depends on how we respond.

In this episode of "I Love to Tell the Story," hosts Rolf Jacobson, Kathryn Schifferdecker, and Craig Koester explore one of the most dramatic narratives in the Hebrew Bible: Elijah's journey to Mount Horeb and his encounter with God in the "sound of sheer silence" (or "still small voice"). After his dramatic victory over the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, the prophet Elijah flees from Queen Jezebel's threats and travels from the northern territories all the way to Mount Horeb in the south—literally going "off the map." Exhausted and despairing, Elijah asks God to take his life, claiming he alone is left faithful to God. But God has other plans. In a powerful theophany (divine appearance), God shows Elijah that the divine presence is not in the mighty wind, earthquake, or fire—as it was for Moses—but in the sound of sheer silence. God redirects the self-righteous prophet back to his calling, reminding him that he's not alone and that his work isn't finished yet. The hosts discuss how this passage functions as a mirror for our own tendencies toward self-righteousness, the importance of reading it dramatically to capture its emotional depth, and how God's gracious persistence calls us out of ourselves and into service for others. TIMECODES: 00:00 Introduction to the Narrative Lectionary 02:06 Elijah's Journey and Emotional Turmoil 08:16 God's Communication and the Theophany 11:49 Elijah's Vocation and God's Call 12:47 Conclusion and Reflection on God's Grace
In this episode, we explore the gift of tears and the importance of allowing ourselves to cry. We reflect on our experiences with crying and talk about how tears, especially in painful moments, can be a powerful expression of surrender, lament, and hope when offered to God. With the help of the Holy Spirit, our sensitivity and capacity to cry reflect the way we were beautifully created to respond to what breaks God's heart. We discuss the vulnerability of crying, the pain of resisting it, and how Jesus crying out on the cross reveals the value of our own cries. Whether you're too tired to cry, afraid to show need, or already feel safe expressing emotion, we invite you to see crying as an act of worship and intercession. In our sorrow, God meets us with love, truth, and the hope that He can actually do something with our pain. The Gospel confers an immense value to our cry, reminding us that it can be an invocation, a protest, a desire, a surrender. It can even be the extreme form of prayer, when there are no words left.
