The newest Christopher Nolan movie is finally here. Tenet a new trippy look at Time Travel that while sounds amazing on paper is a little too convoluted for its own good. Not to mention all the story beats we probably missed since neither of us could hear anything anybody said in this movie. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/support
David Fincher brought the story of Herman J. Mankiewicz to Netflix. A story of Mank writing the story Citizen Kane for the newcomer Orson Welles. But in reality the movie has very little to do with that and actually focuses on a political story. That surprisingly is pretty engaging but did make us do tons of wikipedia searching. Danny and Jesse are back!! We are revisiting a favorite of ours from way back in the day. A movie extremely quotable, an amazing soundtrack, and honestly one of Jack Black's best. But does it hold up in 2020 as well as it did back in 2006? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/support
We are back to talk about another classic horror movie for this Halloween season. Another movie directed by Tobe Hooper but written by Steven Spielberg. Poltergeist holds up well after all these years but there are still certain things that don't hold up as great as maybe you remember. But for the most part we had a great time revisiting this really fun horror movie. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/support

Danny and Jesse are back to talk about another new Netflix Release "The Devil All The Time" a movie advertising Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson as the two main characters. But instead there are so many useless side characters that we see Robert Pattinson for a combined total of about 37 seconds during this movie. https://twitter.com/JesseDOrtiz https://twitter.com/DannyHasboun --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/support
Jesse and Danny are finally back after way too long of a hiatus!!! This time they are watching the newest Charlie Kaufman movie "I'm Thinking of Ending Things", a movie so confusing that unless you've read every poet, watched every movie, and seen every broadway play, you will never understand what Kaufman is trying to say in this movie. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/support
Danny and Jesse have returned from a long hiatus to finally take a look at the newest Time Loop movie, the Hulu Original Palm Springs. Does it compare to the greatness that is Groundhog Day? Jesse and Danny are checking out the newest Judd Apatow movie, The King of Staten Island. A semi auto-biographical movie about Pete Davidson playing a weed smoking slacker who is still mourning his firefighter fathers death. Really this might just be a straight up documentary. But like most Apatow movies its really about a likable dork who has no future and how he slowly changes into a normal person with a future. You know Knocked Up 15. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/support
Danny and Jesse talk about the Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx movie Just Mercy. A film about a wrongfully accused man and the journey he and his lawyer must go through to get him justice. This film is more conversation worthy now with the rise of Black Lives Matters protests going on all over the US. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/support
Danny and Jesse have traveled back in time to 1985 to watch Back to the Future a movie about a young man traveling back to 1955 after watching a crazy old man that he hangs out with, for reasons that are never explained, gets shot by Libyan terrorists. I'm not making this up. He then needs to get his parents to hook up back when they are in high school after the young version of his mom ends up falling in love with him. Seriously how did they pitch this movie and get it made?? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/support
Danny and Jesse have finally done it they have seen 1/3rd of the Star Wars Skywalker Saga. And oh what a saga it has been, its had its ups (Podracing) its downs (Attack of the Clones entirely) and it has had its tears (mine when Darth Maul died). But it is finally time to talk about when Anakin finally turns into the most evil, imposing, coolest villain ever. We head back in time to watch the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie that started all of the numerous Spider-Man movies that we have been forced to endure. Does it hold up? Or is the shadow of Topher Grace as Venom too large for this movie to still be good? Darth Maul is the best villain ever. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talking-movies/support
