If you spend 18 minutes a day — focused on learning or practicing a skill, you will become better than 95% of the population at that skill. That's the 100 hour rule. It's about consistency and this concept of small daily progress that compounds over time. Jesse Itzler popularized this concept and it shows that you can become great at anything you're willing to put 100 hours towards. You don't need more time. You need more intention. In this episode I'm pulling out so many of the highlighted sections from some of my favorite books to bring you a very full perspective podcast episode on this topic. The 100 Hour Rule is your reminder that you already have what it takes. You just need to start — and keep showing up. This episode is your mini wake-up call — your invitation to finally get going on learning the skill that you've wanted to and get moving on your small and big and do it in a way that feels totally doable. We're breaking down the 100 Hour Rule with inspiration from: Jesse Itzler Josh Kaufman Chris Williamson Alex Hormozi Ed Mylett Steven Bartlett Let's talk about how to focus, what to prioritize, and how to finally follow through, even if your schedule is full and your motivation isn't perfect. Why It Works- 100 hours = manageable, realistic, and motivating. Public speaking, playing piano, learning to use Canva, learn to cook, learn how to lift weights, learn how to meditate, learn to hike or mountain bike, learn to watercolor or speak French. Become at expert at using points to travel to places you wouldn't normally, work on learning & launching a business. What Is The 100 Hour Rule?

Generative AI is reshaping the way people work, from full-time employees to freelancers. As coding copilots, design assistants, and AI-powered writing tools become more capable and accessible, creative and technical roles are starting to shift – if not become eliminated entirely. The pressure to adapt is growing across the board. Micha Kaufman, CEO of Fiverr, isn't sugarcoating it. In a recent open letter to staff, he warned that AI is coming for everyone's jobs, and the only way to stay relevant is to embrace AI tools and automation. Get better, get faster, or get left behind. Kaufman joined Rebecca Bellan on TechCrunch's Equity podcast to help unpack what all of this means for the future of work – be it freelance or employed – and what you can do to survive. Listen to the full episode to hear about: How Fiverr plans to stay relevant as a human-powered marketplace in an AI-driven world Why Kaufman believes AI will raise the bar for everyone, but top talent can still stand out and earn more What new grads and early-career professionals are up against in today's tough job market Equity will be back Friday with our weekly news roundup, so stay tuned. Peter Kaufman is President/Head of Restructuring and Distressed M&A at Gordian Group, a New York City-based investment bank. He's found an illustrious second career as a regular golf contributor with The Daily Drive, an online golf journalism collective. Andy and Charlie (who are both still in search of their first careers) enlist Peter in a tour of all things golf on the eve of this year's U.S. Open. The conversation begins with an update on the current state of distressed M&A activity, but then turns to the main order of business. Peter, Charlie and Andy assess the PGA competitive landscape; the Open's return to the legendary Oakmont Country Club; the state of play between the PGA and LIV tours; and the likely composition of the Ryder Cup teams this fall. If you made it to the end of this recap, you might just make it to the end of the podcast.
In the fall of 1940, an employ of the Consolidated Edison Company in Manhattan discovered a bomb in the company's main offices, along with a note that read “Con Edison crooks – this is for you.” The bomb was discovered before it detonated and no one was harmed, but a year later the company received a second bomb, followed by a note to NYPD in which the bomber announced he would make no bombs for the duration of WWII, but would begin again as the war ended. As promised, a new series of bombings began across New York in the winter of 1951, beginning with an explosion at Grand Central Station. In the five years that followed, “The Mad Bomber,” as he would come to be known, would place explosives at some of New York's most iconic locations including Radio City Music Hall, Penn Station, and the New York Public Library. The bombs were often followed by cryptic letters sent to the press, usually referencing the Consolidated Edison Company.Th Mad Bomber's reign of terror finally came to an end with his capture in 1957, and neither the suspect nor his motives made much sense to the New Yorkers who'd lived in fear for five years.Thank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!ReferencesAssociated Press. 1955. Ready to argue in courtrooms built on marble and legacy. But life had other plans—plans scribbled in blood sugar charts, sleepless nights, and biochemical chaos. Her body became the battleground where Western medicine failed and ancient wisdom took root. When Sadie Kaufman was diagnosed with pre-diabetes and hormone dysfunction in her twenties, she didn't just seek help—she declared war. A rebel in a vegan womb, raised by health-conscious parents, she realized the system had fed her dogma without discernment. So she left the script behind and wrote her own—in blood, sweat, microbes, and metabolic fire. From 2000 to 2006, she dove headfirst into the molecular river. Studying microbiology and advanced biochemistry at Columbia by day, decoding her own internal wilderness by night. She read her body like a sacred codex, one test tube at a time. She began crafting what would become a revolutionary framework—The Sadie Kaufman Method—a roadmap for reclaiming sovereignty over your cells.By 2010, after training in metabolic nutrition and transformational coaching, Sadie opened her practice—and word spread like wildfire through hushed whispers and long-distance referrals. Now, her clients span continents, cultures, and belief systems, drawn to her unique fusion of science, spirit, and no-BS truth-telling.She doesn't promise you easy answers. She gives you tools. Data. Grit. And the audacity to trust your body like it's your oracle. This is not nutrition as trend. This is medicine as myth reborn. This is Sadie—a biochemical priestess in a lab coat with dirt on her boots and a machete in her hand, cutting through the jungle of misinformation to lead you back to the temple of your own metabolism. Please welcome the warrior scientist, the rural alchemist, the woman who turned her diagnosis into a revolution—Sadie Kaufman.SadieKaufmanMethodhttps://www.instagram.com/sadiekaufmanmethod?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== Support the show:https://www.paypal.me/Truelifepodcast?locale.x=en_USCheck out our YouTube:https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPzfOaFtA1hF8UhnuvOQnTgKcIYPI9Ni9&si=Jgg9ATGwzhzdmjkgGrow your own:https://modernmushroomcultivation.com/This Band Will Blow Your Mind: Codex Serafinihttps://codexserafini.bandcamp.com/album/the-imprecation-of-anima
What if everything you were taught about health, science, and medicine was wrong?Dr. Andrew Kaufman—a former psychiatrist and medical researcher—walked away from a successful career to speak the truth about modern medicine, even when it cost him his income, reputation, and relationships. In this eye-opening conversation, he reveals the false foundations of the medical industry, the dangers of compliance, and how we can raise critical thinkers and future leaders in a world that rewards conformity. If you've ever felt like something doesn't add up—you're not alone. Dr. Kaufman explains why asking hard questions is the first step toward real freedom, health, and leadership.Quotes:"I'm primarily motivated by justice. It's one of the most important influences for my professional life." - Dr. Andrew Kaufman"Our destiny as humans on this planet is that we're all supposed to have abundance." - Dr. Andrew Kaufman"We're giving opportunities, or we're helping families home educate work, we're helping families raise their kids in a way that is exactly in line with what we're talking about here, to be able to think for yourself." - Matt Beaudreau Key Takeaways:· Audit Your Health Beliefs: Ask yourself, "What do I believe about health, medicine, and disease—and why?" Take time to research the origins of those beliefs. Start with one area (like germ theory or pharmaceutical use) and look for primary sources.· Start Learning Like an Autodidact: Choose one topic you've always been curious about and study it independently for 30 days. Use books, scientific papers, and interviews—not just search engines. Reflect: Can I teach this to someone else?· Reassess Your Children's Education: If you're a parent, evaluate whether your child's education supports critical thinking and self-learning. Consider incorporating the Trivium (Grammar, Logic, Rhetoric) into your homeschool or afterschool approach.· Clean Up One Area of Your Lifestyle: Pick one health domain—like food, water, air, or personal care—and take one action to remove toxins or processed chemicals. Example: swap conventional cleaning products for natural alternatives.· Join or Build a Parallel Community: Look for local groups, meetups, or online communities that share values of sovereignty, truth-seeking, and natural living. Don't isolate—build alliances that challenge mainstream narratives. Conclusion: Dr. Andrew Kaufman's journey reminds us that true leadership means standing for truth—even when it costs you everything. In a world filled with noise, compliance, and fear, he chose clarity, courage, and integrity. His message is a call to action: to question what we've been taught, to seek knowledge for ourselves, and to raise a new generation of thinkers who value truth over comfort.Whether you're a parent, a student, a professional, or simply someone who feels like the system isn't working—this conversation challenges you to dig deeper, live more consciously, and lead by example.Because freedom begins where blind obedience ends.

When COVID hit we all wore masks, so as not to infect each other or get infected. I and many others perceive that a more dangerous virus is among us, and it's a victim mindset, which results in a victim identity. So how can we protect ourselves? My guest is Scott Barry Kaufman, Ph.D., a cognitive psychologist who is among the top one percent most cited scientists in the world for his groundbreaking research on intelligence, creativity, and human potential. He is the host of The Psychology Podcast, which is frequently ranked the #1 psychology podcast in the world. He is a professor of psychology at Columbia University and director of the Center for Human Potential. Dr. Kaufman's writing has appeared in The Atlantic, Scientific American, Psychology Today, and Harvard Business Review, and he is the author of eleven books, the latest of which is called, Rise Above: Overcome a Victim Mindset, Empower Yourself, and Realize Your True Potential. We dig into this issue of victim mindset and identity in a candid, and likely not very PC discussion. As you'll hear, I'm just as susceptible as anyone at falling to my own victim mentality, so as usual, I entered into this with a student mindset. And…I was schooled. I think you will be too. In this deeply personal and informative episode 210, Dr. Gillian Lockitch is joined by Jennifer Kaufman, a seasoned educator and school principal with over two decades of experience in autism education—who also happens to be the grandmother of a child on the autism spectrum. Jennifer offers a rare dual perspective: professional insights shaped by years at the helm of a specialized autism school, and heartfelt wisdom drawn from her own family's journey. Together, they explore the evolving role of grandparents in today's families, particularly when a child is diagnosed with autism. Jennifer shares how her expectations as a grandparent shifted, the emotional complexities that followed, and how her professional training helped—but didn't fully prepare her—for the personal impact of the diagnosis. Drawing from her book, Grandparenting on the Spectrum: A Journey from Both Sides of the Desk, she provides gentle, practical guidance for navigating these often unspoken challenges. Listeners will learn how to offer support without overwhelming their adult children, create routines that help neurodiverse grandchildren feel safe and connected, and build relationships based on love, patience, and flexibility. The $84 billion question haunting American healthcare takes center stage as Nathan Kaufman returns to unpack the bombshell criminal investigation into UnitedHealthcare's alleged Medicare fraud. Drawing from his 48 years of healthcare expertise, Kaufman reveals the troubling mechanics behind how the nation's largest insurer potentially manipulated the Medicare Advantage system through aggressive "upcoding" – artificially inflating patient illness scores to extract higher government payments. This eye-opening conversation exposes the stark reality that UnitedHealthcare somehow generated a staggering 95% of all Medicare Advantage profits in 2024, raising serious questions about their operational practices compared to competitors. We dive deep into the company's concerning denial patterns, where approximately one in ten Medicare Advantage claims gets rejected, yet when patients fight back, 70-80% of appeals succeed – suggesting many initial denials lack merit.Beyond the investigation itself, we explore the fundamental conflict at the heart of our healthcare system: the misaligned incentives that reward denying care rather than providing it. As Kaufman aptly describes healthcare as "the largest segment of the largest economy in the history of the world," we confront the uncomfortable truth that 24 cents of every federal dollar now flows into a system that too often prioritizes corporate profits over patient wellbeing. Whether you're concerned about healthcare costs, insurance practices, or the future of Medicare and Medicaid, this conversation offers crucial insights into how the complexity and opacity of our healthcare system benefits powerful interests while leaving patients vulnerable.
